Skyrim Uncapper not Working

Question

Posted

This is not necessarily related to STEP, but if anyone can help me...

Anybody who uses the Skyrim Uncapper can replicate this?

You need to edit the ...\Data\SKSE\Plugins\SKSE_Elys_Uncapper.ini file.

Change bUsePerksAtLevelUp=0 to bUsePerksAtLevelUp=1 and under [PerksAtLevelUp], change 2=1 to 2=2, so you win 2 perks at 2 level for test sake.

Just start a new game, if using Alternate Start (you need to have access to your skill tree, if normal start only inside helgen keep), just type it on the AdvSkill enchanting 5 and you will win a level. Check if you won 2 perks please.

Specially if you use latest SkyRe, please report back.

Thank you guys in advance.

Ok, I tried Uncapper with Skyrim Vanilla, nothing installed but SKSE, SkyUI, DLCs and HRDLCs and Alternate Start to quick test.

Not working. D: D: D: D:

You mean skse.ini or skyrim.ini?

Skse.ini I tried to use it blank with same results.

Skyrim.ini:

Good reminder, I did not tried to change my other .ini yet. Will try a blank one.

No I meant the elys uncapper ini file and list what other skse plugins you might have. Also, SKSE was just updated to 1.6.9 so elys uncapper might need an update if you updated SKSE. Mine seems to work just fine with with the [PerksAtLevelUp] set to 2=1.25, every fourth level I get 2 perks. Also, try setting the auto update line in elys ini to 1. I think it's for Skyrim version update, but it is worth a try.

Yeah, I was using Custom ElysUncapper INI for SkyRe, only changing the perks at level up. Nothing else different.

Also already tried using bAutoUpdate=1...

Here is my skse.log... seems to be loaded correctly, maybe is not reading the file correctly.

I don't know why a custom INI would have skill cap at 300 and then the formula cap at 150, that makes no sense.

As for the perks at level up, it's not at 2=2 as you said in the OP it's 2=1.5 which will give you 1 perk at level 2 and 2 perks at level 3 (1,2,1,2,1,2...) and then repeat until level 20 which is set at 20=1.7. That is 1 at level 20, 2 at level 21, 2 at 22 (1,2,2,1,2,2...). Then at 40 it's at 1.8, which is 1,2,2,2,1,2,2,2 or something along those lines.

To get the two perks you need to level up twice, unless you've already tried it at 2=2 and it didn't work then only Elys or Tendos can tell you if it's a conflict between the Skyre and Uncapper.

Uncapper let you go up to 300, but that custom ini made for SkyRe (that is recommended on T3ndo's SkyRe main mod page) caps at 150, I don't see the problem...

Hmm... yeah, sorry, appreciate your effort, but I can read the .ini file, what's it's supposed to make :) I tried 2=2 already, and other combinations, to be sure.

It didn't work. Also: "I tried Uncapper with Skyrim Vanilla, nothing installed but SKSE, SkyUI, DLCs and HRDLCs and Alternate Start" like already stated.

Did not work either. D:

I just started with blanks skyirm.ini and skyrinprefs.ini file, same problem. D:

Look for the skse loader log file and see if an error printed.

Look the skse.log file above.. looks like "nothing's wrong" :(

Take a look. If that's really it, then looks like is not reading the .ini file ¬¬

I tried to put it everywhere, it's on overwrite folder right now.

It turns out that no...

Even with uncapper stiked directly in skyrim directory (not with MO), it does not work for me. D:

That's horrible I can't play :(

I have reported this as a possible bug on the MO board.

If you let MO hold the Uncapper .dll, it loads with no errors from SKSE but is then ignored. If, however, you manually move the .dll to the real SKSE Plugins folder in Skyrim data it works perfectly.

The MO author is aware of the issue but the lack of SKSE errors is confusing.
