zedit load

Question

I followed lexy download for zedit. When I start zedit from mo2 or from .exe I get the message Missing module.json at: blah blah, failed to toload module. When I hit ok button zEdit starts up. It appears ready to work but I don't know if it does cuz I'm just learning it & don't really need it right now. I did some zEdit module patchs in the past couple of weeks but don't remember if I got that message back then. This message comes up on the newest rev & previous rev.

Is this something to worry about? If so How do I fix it. I'm not a computer kid, I,m 70 plus yrs old & am more comfortable with pen & paper than computers. I'm not totally ignorant but not too far from it.

Sounds to me like you installed a module incorrectly in zEdit's modules folder.  What folders are in that folder?  If any of those folders doesn't contain a module.json file at the top level, the module is installed incorrectly.

E.g. correct module installation:

<zedit folder>\modules\unifiedPatchingFramework\module.json
