FAILED loading DDS (80004005) Error loading texture Executing TexConv returned error

Question

Posted (edited)

Hello,

I'm now trying to run the x64 version on BC3 instead of BC7 because BC7 causes access denied issues on non-protected folders. Mod Organizer 2, Skyrim, and Dyndolod are all on a separate drive from the OS.

Now, I appear to get "Exception in unit userscript line 342: One or more errors occurred"

But the errors are in finding files that don't exists, so I'm baffled why it's looking for them, or what to do about. If this is an inability to write to the folder, I have no way to bypass it, as no protection on the TEMP folder exists, no antivirus is present, and Dyndolod is run as an admin.

I was having this same problem. I cleared my MO2 overwrite then looked for the texture that had been corrupted, found it and reinstalled that mod. DynDOLOD finished successfully after that. The texture that was screwed up for me was from a different texture pack, wont necessarily be from the Resources or the TexGen output. I think the issue had something to do with the process of updating my MO2 from 2.1.6 to 2.2.0 and not the actual version that I was using as reverting back to 2.1.6 didn't solve the problem

Damn it! Now when i open wyre bash through mo2 it's telling me "This action cannot be completed because this folder or file is open in another program"

Any fix for this?

There might be a hidden (check task manager) process still running in the background. Rebooting usually clears that up.

Nope, I turned my laptop on and off again and still getting "This action cannot be completed because this folder or file is open in another program"

On the MO discord they seen to say updating Win 10 to 1809 helps with that issue. Check for yourself though, I just skimmed through messages real quick.

Why not do any of these things:

Check log lines above the exception for additional hints. Check the FAQ and search official forum

If problem persists, post error report with entire contents (not just the last couple lines) of ..\DynDOLOD\bugreport.txt and ..\DynDOLOD\logs\DynDOLOD_SSE_log.txt to official forum http://forum.step-pr...ndolod-support/

Moved to the appropriate thread. Check this post https://forum.step-project.com/topic/14042-failed-loading-dds-80004005-executing-texconv-returned-error/?p=235251

Here is my bug report

cant attach my Dynlod.log its too big

Use a file service or pastebin.com

However, I can see you are still using an older version. As suggested by this earlier post update to the latest version so the message shows you which texture causes the problem so you can reinstall it.

I have one last issue that If i'll be able to fix, i'm set. All the trees in Skyrim look terrible! I installed HQ Tree Bark but it's not doing anything! If sheson can find a fix to this, i'll be forever in his debt.

This seems rather off-topic to this read.

DynDOLOD generates LOD. It does not change how trees look.
