Skyrim Unplugged Unavailable - [SOLVED]

Question

Posted

Following the Guide:Skyrim Installation updated 15 December 2012 which directs that one "download and run Skyrim Unplugged" from Nexus where the mod seems to be inactive and unable to be downloaded.

Confused and hoping for advice.

Skyrim Unplugged no longer works with the current version of Steam. For now, I believe you can just skip it. The main reason for SKyrim Unplugged is because in STEP many mods are Skyrim Version specific. Skyrim Unplugged prevented Steam from automatically updating Skyrim; thus, keeping all your mods compatible. I don't think there is a work around for this yet.

I haven't marked Skyrim Unplugged as being unavailable, so there must have been a Nexus issue at the time.

But as of now, Skyrim Unplugged is indeed broken due to a change in how Steam handles the Automatic Update setting. However, there is some potential good news that Steam has fixed the Automatic Updates setting as it hasn't reset for me after a client update. But, this means I have to wait till the next Skyrim patch is released to know for sure if the problem still exists, or if SU can finally retire.

Thx for the further info. When I went to the Nexus site, clicking on Download didnt do anything, hence by thinking it was unavailable. Seems like at this point, just as well not to install it.
