  1. Ah ok, thanks for the tips for starting a new game, without going thru the tutorial. I will give it a try soon. I've been playing a bit in the past few days, and updated dyndolod a few times, and I think I understand what happened. Why I was missing a few files. I noticed today when updating dyndolod, that if I leave my previous textures and world DDL files, along with the .esp present, it seems that dyndolod won't generate any non-objects .json files. So I must have updated dyndolod with those present, deleted the old files, and moved the output folder. So I was left with only objects .json files, and for example, no DynDOLOD_Tamriel.json. Verifying the cells data might be a bit over my current modding skills :) I have no clue what you mean. I get what a cell is, but that's about it. I understand what you mean by if a mod update cell data, and that data might not be present in dyndolod, but again, how do I find out if this happens? As for the updating part I wasn't able to find, I mean in the SR:LE guide I followed. And I believe any installation tutorials I found on youtube.. There seems to be a few areas of my game I can't go otherwise I'll crash... so far I remember 2... but usually, I was crashing to desktop with no messages at all, but those two locations that crashed, I had a windows message, saying that skyrim ended unexpectedly or something like that... generic crash message.. but no logs... I'll keep playing anyway and will see if I crash at one of the main quests later on... then I'll try to start a new game, since my savegame is probably to blame. I first modded skyrim using the workshop... and soon found out the mods were not up to date, lots of mods missing that were linked to nexus... so I discovered nexus, and followed (partially) the SR:LE guide... and I continued with my old savegame.
  2. I reloaded my savegame, went into MCM, DDL was still missing. I wait a bit, and got the MCM message that DDL successfully initialized, and 1 new MCM menu registered. I played for over an hour, and no DDL error message came thru. After I was done playing, I checked the MCM menu, and sure enough, the last message was that it successfully initialized.. I dunno what happened, why etc... but still glad that it's finally fixed, and learned a thing or two in the process. I'll be more confident when I'll be updating DDL now. On the crash matter, hard to say if it's better, played a bit more than an hour, and had one crash. Thanks for helping out!
  3. I checked in StorageUtilData and there were no DynDOLOD_Tamriel.json. Only an objects one. So I removed everything generated by DynDOLOD, restarted MO, and ran both texgen and dyndolod again. Prior to doing this, I saved my game without DynDOLOD.esp loaded, inside an house. The honningbrew meadery. After copying the generated files to my mods folder and restarting MO again, and made sure that DynDOLOD.esp was loaded, I loaded my game, and for some reasons, there were no DynDOLOD in MCM. Reloading my savegame worked, but this time, I'm getting the same errors messages, but with the file DynDOLOD_.json and the objects version as well. In MCM, now in 3rd and 4th position are this DynDOLOD_.json files... I'm sorry to take away some of your time debugging stupid stuff like that, but I really appreciate the help. EDIT: I'm sorry, I did not understand what you meant by coc whiterun in the mainmenu... but as my savegame was "clean", I believe, it was saved inside an house, without DynDOLOD.esp, so I figure that's what you mean by clean, I thought to give it a try.
  4. Thanks for your help, regardless of the sarcasm. Yeah, my bad... Actually, I'm rather new to skyrim modding.. The SR:LE guide provided little info on how to update DynDOLOD and I went to the MCM of dyndolod the first time after reading a post from you helping a similar issue around page 50 on this thread. Anyway, my fault... I checked the bunch of numbers, and they all match... however, the third one is empty or n/a... The exact error message are can not find master data in DynDOLOD_Tamriel.json and can not read master data in DynDOLOD_Tamriel.json. When you say redo the clean save, you mean unticking DynDOLOD.esp in MO and saving my game again? And using a save cleaner, do you have one to recommend? I heard bad things about those. How would I know which thing to remove from my save? I figure the save cleaner will tell me this is renaming data and/or scripts? Thanks... I had very little crash to desktop prior to running into this issue, if any... now, it happens quite regularly... Can it be related?
  5. I have installed DynDOLOD as part of the Skyrim Revisited: Legendary Edition on step wiki, and it was working fine. I then added a few more mods, ran texgen and dyndolod, and I was fortunate to have saved my game in the companion hall in whiterun, jjorvaskr, not sure of the spelling. I wasn't aware to save the game inside an house before doing this process. I added a few more mods, ran this process again, but this time, I wasn't saved inside an house. Now I'm having messages like DynDOLOD can't read from master data Tamriel.json or something like that. I came to this thread searching for this error message, and already tried something Sheson mentioned. I tried to disable DynDOLOD in the MCM menu, but for some reasons, it is greyed out active. So I then saved my game inside the companion hall anyway, exit skyrim, disabled DynDOLOD.esp in MO, restarted my game, saved again without the esp loaded. Exit skyrim, tick back the esp, start my game again, and I'm still having these messages. I didn't ran texgen and dyndolod, because I already did so yesterday, so I thought it wouldn't be needed... Any ideas on how to make these messages go away?
  6. I haven't read about this anywhere in the guide, and most mods on the nexus specifically mentions that they won't support you if you extract BSAs, and run into problems... Why would this be critically important? I answered no the first time, and remembered the choice, and my game is as stable as it should. What's even more impressive... I levelled up to 31-32 with a previous install, with a totally different set of mods, using steam workshop... uninstalled, reinstalled from scratch, and followed SR:LE, partially... almost fully, but skipped stuff that didn't appealed to me right now, tho it might later on... and my savegame works without a single glitch. Just played for a few hours... and all I could think of while I was exploring the land, was, holy sh.t.... (thinking this is totally stunning!) Many thanks again neo for this wonderful guide and mods setup!
  7. I've been reading quite a bit on the matter, and you guys are right, this part of the game is very sensitive, specially to mods with scripts. However, I've seen a lot of reports telling that Immersive Armor 7-8 is causing this issue... Not sure if this mods have scripts, but anyway... I have looked at the live another life mods, and I dunno... maybe once I have went thru a playthrough or two... that's why I didn't installed stuff like new locations, crafting overhaul, and stuff that deeply change the base game, I was more after the ultimate beautification, and I achieved it. I added a few more mods this evening, like the ruffled feathers, and couple others, maybe 10-15 more.. I did a bashed patch, updated fnis, and now updating lods with texgen and dyndolod. I played Skyrim the year it came out, but my computer wouldn't run it very well, so I got tired before finishing it. I'm really curious to see how the Special Edition will compare to a modded Skyrim like this. But I'm also curious to see how far modding will be able to take the SE as well!
  8. This is exactly what's happening to me...
  9. Well, I found my tree problem on the first try. It was Trees HD. I'll try to skip the special install instructions which tells me to skip a few files at installation... The cave in question is graywatch, to the east of whiterun... It was that large tree standing underneath the hole in the ceiling. Any idea which tree that might be? EDIT: Reinstalled both Trees HD and Fixes, without omiting any files, and it worked! I haven't explored much since, I was trying to find the issues of my problems, but so far so good. I might look into the new game camera spin now... to see what it could be.
  10. Thank you, I will look into it. I have went to the guide's page to see if there was any special instructions for IA, and there was. I was told to remove an esp that wasn't supposedly needed. However, after unzipping it from the archive to the mod folder and reloading my game, the bandits were now showing properly. I also noticed the installation was setting it up for UNP, and since I did not set it up this way, and did not install the UNP armors, this might have been the problem. Maybe the UNP armors were replacing those I had troubles with. In any case, making some progress. Now.... the tree... Just looked at MFG Console, and it would probably have been useful for the armors, but looking at the description, I see this "Support character, weapon, armor, potion, scroll and container now." So it seems it won't be useful for my tree problem. I'll try to disable any tree mod one by one, I'll find the bugger!
  11. Yes I found it... thank you. Is it worth the trouble to go back and see what mods depends on it, install them again with support for Better Dynamic Snow and install the ruffled feather pack? I have ruled out my armor problem. At first, I thought the whole body was untextured, but after a closer look with the bandits, it seemed only the armor was untextured, because the bandit chief from the bandit mod, had a special armor that I never saw, and a cloak, and the cloak was showing fine. The whole armor was purpleish.. another lower bandits had only the gloves in purple... After making a copy of my revisited profile in MO, and disabling a mod at a time, on the second try, I disabled Immersive Armor, and that seems to be the culprit. On reload, the bandits were all fine. Not sure if I would start a new game, if those would be fixed, but I seems to be headed the right way. Now, how can I figure how to fix it? I took a look at the CR stuff, looking at the wiki on the matter on STEP, and the example is so simple compared to my setup, that I have no idea what to do. And to make matters worse, looking at the CR subpage of the guide, I see there is only one Armor related fix, and it has something to do with the children mod... so it doesn't even relate to the issue that I have. Now, I'll try to find that cave again which at a tree at the entrance, and try to find out from what mod the problem is coming from. Is there no debug mode, console commands to output that would help me pinpoint the files that doesn't seem to load?
  12. Well, when I clicked on the Ruffled Feather mod, I came up to the large STEP collection of mods. Isn't it the same thing? It doesn't seems to be included in that collection tho.
  13. I did ran FNIS, when I ran the wrye tool, it told me about 3 files that could be merged together. And I couldn't see really the benefits, and I wasn't sure what I was doing either. So I left it out, as I understood it was a way to thin out the number of mods installed, to install more. As I have 117 mods installed, with skyrim's original files counted in, I didn't thought it was needed. As for CR, I'm not sure I know that acronym. Out of the post installation stuff, the only thing I didn't do is Wrye Bash, and conflicts resolve, since doing it all by hands was really overwhelming, specially after having spent over 12 hours installing all of this, and knowing I should leave out the provided files, since I did not installed everything suggested. One thing I could not find at all was Better Dynamic Snow. I even looked on google, and all download links elsewhere pointed to nexus, and it seemed to have been removed. So I configured the mods that depended on it to work without. So MO tells me I have no missing dependencies, or conflicts whatsoever. I ran LOOT, and TES5Edit (sort masters) too...
  14. I have found my installed mod list in the profile directory inside ModOrganizer, here is the list (happens to be backward tho, but I guess you guys already knew that): # This file was automatically generated by Mod Organizer.
  15. I really don't want to install everything suggested by the guide, yet. As I never finished Skyrim by itself. So I left out things like Crafting Overhaul, any new items, quests, locations, and the sexy stuff from UNPB... So I left out the section that adds UNP Armors etc.. Also made sure to set up any mods that had a setup procedure, suggesting patches and support for UNP, crafting overhaul, new locations, etc, accordingly. MO doesn't tell me I have any problems with what I have installed either, nor TES5Edit, or LOOT. I successfully ran DynDOLOD, and all other post installation stuff. I happen to have a 60hz screen, run the game fullscreen, and my FPS is capped at 60. It will however dip lower when in certain areas, like cities, etc... The lowest I've seen is around 30... I don't remember having read about iPresentInterval=1 in the guide, what does it do? I just checked, and you are right, I found it in skyrimprefs.ini. In which section of skyrim.ini should I add it? Do I also remove it from prefs? Another glitch I had when starting a new game, and forgot to mention in my OP, is that once the carriage arrives at helgen, and we are told to get out, the camera spinning stopped, but no one got out, and nothing more was happening. I guess they were waiting for us to come down, but since it never happened, the game didn't proceeded further. But, really, I don't mind that, cause if I wish to start a new game later, I could always start it vanilla, save my game after helgen, and continue with Revisited profile. The only thing really bugging me is the few untextured purple things I happen to have. EDIT: I checked in skyrim logs folder, and it was empty....
  16. I was certain to have applied Vsync in enblocal.ini, just double-checked, and indeed, I did. Should I make a Skyrim profile in the NVidia panel and enable it there either on, or adaptative? I figured as much for the missing texture, however, I'm not familiar enough with Skyrim's file structure, and wouldn't know where to first start looking. Any logs that might help me out? Or a debug mode? Console commands? I forgot to mention tho. The NPCs that appeared untextured, are completely untextured. It's not only a matter of armor, clothes, etc... they appear in purpleish color. Same for the tree. The bark, leaves and branches were all purple. Plus the alpha mask for the leaves were not applied, as I guess it's part of the diffuse, I would believe? EDIT: I must admit that I skipped the conflicts resolve at the end of the guide, that's part of a separate guide. It was overwhelming, and I figured I couldn't use the provided fixes since I didn't installed quite everything. So I thought it might be best to try it as it is.
  17. I just created an account to thank the author of this guide! I played Skyrim a while ago, and installed it again recently to see what I could achieve thru modding with my latest computer upgrade. I started applying mods thru steam workshop as it seemed the easiest way, and noticed that mods over there aren't always kept up to date. I got to a point where my save game wouldn't load anymore. I found this guide, uninstalled everything, unsubscribed to all mods, and re-installed from scratch. It took me over 12 hours to follow the guide yesterday to install almost everything from SR:LE. I left some stuff behind, like added locations, quests, items etc, because for now, I'm interested in playing the content that Skyrim has to offer. I also left behind UNPB as I'm not interested in having nude or sexy females in my game either. I might have made a few mistakes while installing, because at first, when I started installing stuff, I noticed that some mods depended on others, that was installed later. So I did install a few out of order, because I wasn't comfortable with ModOrganizer telling me that some mods where missing dependencies. But I noticed as I went on that they would get installed in due time. I'm having a few glitches at the moment. The worst of them all, is when I start a new game, when riding the chariot, the camera is spinning around wildly. But I'm not interested in starting a new game now, so it's not too bad. I was able to load my previous save game. The other glitch that I'm having, is some textures, like some armors, and one tree that I came up to in a cave, are showing purple, like a normal map color. I've been in whiterun, and everyone over there was textured properly. When I started a new game, there was a captive in the carriage that was textured like this, showing in purple, and some guards as well. I also came up to a fort in my previous save game, where some bandits were having that problem as well. Anyone have ever seen this after applying mods from this guide? Do I need to take a screenshot and show it to you? Is there a log file I could see, that might point me in the right direction, like telling me, x texture is missing or something? The only tree that I came up to that was having this problem (so far) is from a cave. I haven't seen one outside yet. But overall, I see that this guide was well worth the hours I put in to learn how to mod skyrim outside of steam. The result is outstanding! This was exactly what I was hoping to achieve thru the workshop, and didn't. Thank you very much for the huge efforts to write up such a guide so that people like me could soup up their skyrim experience. I doubt the special edition will beat what I already have now! 1000 thanks!
