  1. Pure speculation, but do you think Wyrmstooth disappearing from the internet has anything to do with the the forthcoming Skyrim Special Edition? Maybe Bethesda were so impressed with the mod that they wanted to include it the game as a little surprise DLC / supported mod, or whatever you wanna call it?
  2. The question is pretty simple: Will STEP:Extended run smoothly on my ROG laptop? The specs are as follows: Intel Core i7-4700HQ 16GB DDR3 GTX 770M 3GB GDDR5 256 SSD (OS + Games on separate partitions)
  3. Can I use these four mods with S.T.E.P. Extended (with relevant patches, of course)? I haven't found any compatibility issues, but I'm asking just to be sure. 4. The same thing has happened to me a couple of times. The first time it happened a Tempest Dragon created one of those "electric spheres" and the sphere never disappeared. The second time was with an Awakened Dragon. An Awakened Dragon has the ability to "teleport" you to it. The teleport spell animation (with sound) played over and over again. I don't know if it matters, but both bugs occurred in Rorikstead. Edit: I don't know if it affected my Papyrus; I had never heard of Papyrus at the time.
  5. I'll wait. Videocards are expensive and I'm not going to spend money on a high-end Maxwell card that may not work well with DX12/Vulcan games. My GTX 690 will have to do for now.
  6. I have no idea, because I know next to nothing about this. I just read that if you go "Beyond STEP" you should have a graphics card with at least 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
  7. It doesn't seem like Microsoft is going to do anything about this bug, even though they are aware of it. https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/1263324/gpu-memory-allocation-limit-on-directx9-windows-8 I can get a copy of Windows 7, no problem. The company who "built" my current rig (you choose the hardware; they build it for you) still have Win 7 Pro (64bit) as an option when you choose OS; probably because of this bug. So I will probably go for a dual-boot option myself. I still wanna play DX9 games without a ridiculous VRAM limitation.
  8. Do we know anything about what the prices are going to be?
  9. Thanks for replying. I think I'll stick to STEP Core Extended for now; I don't want sub-optimal hardware to ruin what should be a great SR:LE experience. I'm planning to buy new hardware before summer because this rig is over three years old. However, someone on this forum said this is a bad time to buy a high-end graphics card. I know the GeForce 1000 series is due for release this year, and with brand new architecture I'm guessing they're going to be pretty expensive. Should we expect GTX 980Ti or GTX Titan X to become significantly cheaper after the GeForce 1000 series is released?
  10. My hardware: Intel Core i7 3770K @ 3.50GHz 16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 690 447GB Corsair Neutron GTX SS (SSD) BenQ RL2450H (1920x1080@60Hz) Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit What settings should I use in STEP Extended or SR:LE? I know that a GTX 690 has a relative GPU performance almost on par with a GTX 980, but I fear only 2Gb of VRAM will be a bottleneck here. Performance is the most important thing; too much stuttering ruins the game for me. Suggestions?
