OK so I follow the link, scroll right down to the bottom and click "Vanilla Fallout and Fallout Mod Texture Optimization", then follow the intrsuctions to optimize the vanilla textures. But then do I go on to the next section quoted below or do I continue following the guide on that page with the next section "Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 3 Mods and Optimization"? The quote above says to only follow along for the optimization of the vanilla textures, so should I stop there and move on to the next step (the link quoted below)?

Yes it's definitely the esp limit 100%, I did some extra testing and totally confirmed it. Thanks for the help :) But before I build the bashed patch I will continue to follow the guide, optimizing the textures and generating the bash tags first.

Can't continue installing mods without getting a crash
GlassWizzard replied to GlassWizzard's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Not really no, the only reason I followed that other guide first was because anything else caused a crash, I'm thinking about totally removing all mods and trying again to get C$PD to work. One mod I do like is Asharas Character Presets, which I personally would always add no matter what guide I was following. Oh and Enhanced Shaders! Gotta love Enhanced Shaders, since there doesn't seem to be any good ENB's for FO3. -
A strange thing is happening, everything in the load order is ticked except for the last three mods. The LOD is at the very end and is ticked, but before that are these three unticked ones: Tales from the Burning Sands - Project Nevada Patch, Tutorial Killer, and F&L Game Tweaks. With these three unticked the game starts fine (forgot to try loading a save tbh), but the game starts. It doesn't matter which one of those three mods I tick, ticking one will cause the crash two secs after the music starts. I think it might be reaching the esp limit, which is ok since I haven't made the bashed patch yet.

"Have MO manage archives" was ticked, but I noticed several BSAs that were not ticked, so I ticked them. This has made a difference, now the same thing happens no matter how I choose to run the game through MO (I did set up all the executables as described in the guide). FalloutNV.exe, the regular launcher, nvse and the 4gb launcher, I tried them all. It gets a little further, now the title screen almost shows but the game CTDs two seconds after the music starts. If I switch to the vanilla rofile, the game runs and starts fine through the 4gb exe. It must have been those unticked BSAs, because now the crash seems to be caused by a mod, and it seems I could figure out which one by unticking them until the game works. Which I will now do and report back :)

I normally get an instant crsh, no error or anything. But last night I deleted my data folder and allowed steam to download a fresh one. Since I use mod organizer, simply switching to the appropiate profile put all the mods back where they should be. I deleted the inis and made fresh ones. I then cleaned the DLC files, then did the ini tweaks. Now when I run the 4gb launcher from MO I get this message: Error while injecting helper into remote thread. The specified module could not be found. Then after clicking OK I get another message: Application load error 3:0000065432 Running NVSE (from MO) causes the screen to go black for a few sseconds then CTD In MO I have a vanilla profile that does the same things as above when running the 4gb launcher or nvse rough MO. Running the game from the regular launcher works fine, but since I'm using MO, my mods aren't there unless I launch from MO. (same for 4gb and nvse) This problem is 100% identical to the issues I had with Clear and Present Danger. Any ideas? Edit: Also, running nvse_loader.exe from the games folder works fine too, but not from MO. And again without any mods. Edit: Those errors from the 4gb launcher are fixed now, i accidentally deleted it's dll file. Also I forgot to add those arguments -laaexe .\FalloutMO.exe. Now launching the 4gb launcher from MO does the same things as launching nvse, a black screen for a few seconds then a ctd. I think nvse is causing the crash perhaps? Or at least a plugin.

Where is the troubleshooting section? I can't find it. But me missing something in the guide doesn't account for the game not working when all the mods have been removed, I had this same problem with the Clear and Present Danger guide, which I followed through three separate times.

So, I've just finished following the guide and my game doesn't run, it crashes instantly. So I started to disable mods one by one to find which ones were causing it, turns out none are. Even with all mods disabled the game still crashes when starting, which makes no sense whatsoever since before installing any mods I tested the game and it worked fine. I even tested it with about half the mods installed and it worked fine so something broke along the way. What could it be? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Can't continue installing mods without getting a crash
GlassWizzard replied to GlassWizzard's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
For anyone having this same problem here is how I solved it. I am now running a stable game with almost 300 mods. I first followed this guide to build a stable base (he forgets to include the DCInteriors MMM patch however), then I went through the Clear and Present Danger guide adding almost everything, except RH-IronSights, 20th century weapons and most of the other gun mods (zealots etc). Hope that helps anyone in the same boat as I was. -
Can't continue installing mods without getting a crash
GlassWizzard replied to GlassWizzard's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I've given up on trying to follow the guide, even going for a core build was insanely unstable. Unstable with nonsensical random crashes and texture bugs to which the process of elimination can not be applied to determine where the errors are. I'll just do what I usually do, go to nexus, download a hundred cool mods, then install them randomly. I have a 99% success rate doing that and the game is usually not buggy or glitchy, but this guide? Man there is no hope for it. I spent a whole week trying and beginning the guide from the beginning over and over again, I'll just accept that there's something about it and my pc that don't mix. Thanks for that ESP that will be very handy :) -
Can't continue installing mods without getting a crash
GlassWizzard replied to GlassWizzard's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I found the problem! For some strange reason the UHQ texture pack causes my game to crash when I load my save. Any ideas how to solve this? I mean I don't mind not using it, but I'd like to see if it's fixable. Shall I do a simple reinstall of the mod? Apart from that mod I now have all core mods enabled as well as all the mods from the beginning of the guide right up to the talon loot fix plus five or six more, I think I got it sorted now :) Edit: Nope for some reason the set up that I got working yesterday doesn't work today. This is impossible for me to troubleshoot as the crash is not consistent, it seems random and not related to the mods I select. UHQ seems to be in the clear for this reason. Edit 2 : And now it works again lol. Isn't there a log somewhere I can look at to see what may be causing this? Edit 3: Can I add Fellout to this setup? Would th replace dynamic weather or work with it? I REALLY need dark nights. Edit 4: UHQ does cause an instant crash. -
Following the Guide: Mod Cleaning Question
GlassWizzard posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Hi, I'm following the guide, but have an issue when told to clean mods, the mod cleaning guide is not clear. It says to look at the BOSS log to if there are any UDR's or ITM's. I assume the BOSS report is all that text on the right, and I also assume I just have to look through that and see if there are any mentions of UDR or ITM? Is that right? Because if so I have not seen any UDRs or ITM's in the mods the guide is telling me needs cleaning. So I'm confused :/ -
Can't continue installing mods without getting a crash
GlassWizzard replied to GlassWizzard's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I did try installing everything in the list, I thought that was the point. ENBoost doesn't seem to be causing any issues, but I've disabled it. I'm not too sure what you mean by core mods, I only see core fixes. But if I enable everything from the first mod up to FWE Talon Loot Fix the game loads up fine. -
Can't continue installing mods without getting a crash
GlassWizzard replied to GlassWizzard's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
Here are my specs. I am using ENBoost, and I REALLY doubt my vram is filling up, I have 4gb of the stuff. Besides the game crashes before there is a chance for things to be loaded. I don't know if this is useful information or not but I might as well tell you, I can get the game working and successfully loading my old saves and starting new games if (starting from the end of the mod list, WMK so far) I untick all the mods right up to and including the citadel retextured. So all the first mods upto NMC's texture pack work fine using 1.8gb of vram. I have followed every single step of the guide to the letter, this is my second attempt at following it. Edit: This only sometimes works. -
Hi, I'm following the guide and have reached approximately the point of installing WMK. However if I enable any more mods I get a crash. I installed WMK, Plasma Rifle Awsomified, RH Iron Sights, 20th century weapons and EVE but I can't enable them without getting a crash, even if just enable one, although sometimes the game will actually start with Plasma Rifle Awsomified enabled. Sometimes it's an immediate crash, sometimes the music will actually start, if that happens then I'll see a small red lie in the bottom middle of the screen as though I took damage in game, very strange. Any way, I have no idea how to trouble shoot this and was hoping someone would help me out, I've been at this for days lol. Thanks Edit: After the installation of each mod I started the game up to see if the game worked but I didn't load a save, I just let the menu load, which was a mistake because I just tried to load an old game (and start a new one) with this setup so far (everything up to but not including WMK is enabled) and the game crashes immediately despite the main menu loading up fine. Any files that have missing masters have been disabled so that's not the issue (I think).

Hi, I'm following this guide to mod FO3 and I just installed Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision then merged the patches. It told me to merge "Detect Traps - DLC.esp", "Detect Traps - Perk.esp", "Detect Traps - Traponator 4000.esp", and Advanced Recon Tech - Detect Traps.esp into one single file called Detect Traps Merged.esp. It then tells me to deactivate (by moving into optional esps) "Detect Traps - DLC.esp", "Detect Traps - Perk.esp", "Detect Traps - Traponator 4000.esp" but NOT Advanced Recon Tech - Detect Traps.esp. Isn't that a mistake? Shouldn't I also move Advanced Recon Tech - Detect Traps.esp into optional esps since I merged it into Detect Traps Merged.esp? Any advice appreciated. Thanks
