lighting flicker on water
WizardDoctor replied to WizardDoctor's topic in Step Skyrim LE Packs (retired)
Anyone? Did I place this in the wrong location? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Hello Step team. Over the last month I have been following the Step guides using SR:LE as a launching point to mod skyrim. I have 3 different profiles with 3 characters I am trying out. One with the old Vividian 7.35 before vivid weathers, one with vivid weathers 1.14 and one that I just made yesterday with vivid weathers 1.31. I loaded up outside Lakeview manor using alt start and made my way to the lake on my new character (I installed most of step modular packs - I wanted a requiem like play through) and this is what I saw. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a0stopk4rfs8ke5/Elder%20Scrolls%20V%20%20Skyrim%2004.10.2016%20-%2018.15.17.06.mp4?dl=0 This video is with vivid weathers and vivid ENB with ENB 305. It also occured with Vivid 1.14 and ENB 305 and Vividian 7.35 with ENB 292 ( I haven't tried vividian 7.46 yet) I tried a few things: turned off ELFX exteriors, disabled Dyndolod, tested all 3 profiles, turned off UseDefferedRendering and nothing helped. Anyone got any ideas? I am betting there is a simple fix somewhere, I just don't know what it is. Thanks for looking. (You might also notice the vertical lines scrolling for the fog effects, I posted about this a while back as well and am not sure if it is related) Edit: I also have my monitor refresh rate set to 60 with vsync on. It is a gsync monitor

Kcinlober, I loaded game without end and they are still present. I have just learned to deal with it. I did some more searching and the ninroot thing is a known issue and there are even mods on nexus to fix it by removing the light glow. Seems like a engine limitation but I only know what I read online (no computer background) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hello, thanks for all the hard work. I noticed a slight inconsistency in the dovahkiin reborn guide. the SLRE guide says not to install the CACO immersive creatures patch because the DL2 version is being used instead. Your guide uses the CACO_Immersive Creatures patch.esp, so I am not sure if I should get ride of the patch used for SRLE and use this one or not? Edit: Never mind, I misunderstood the instructions when I installed the CACO instructions on the SRLE guide. I was supposed to install the CACO_Immersive Creatures patch.esp for DL2 version, which is CACO_Immersive Creatures patch+DL2.esp correct?

Just an update: apparently when I downloaded ELFX it was still on version 2.something. The updated ELFX has a SMIM patch that fixed my problem.

So, i've been trying to trouble shoot this on my own without success. I'm sorry to keep asking questions on here. I've tried running both ENB 292 and ENB 305. I've also tried Vividian ENB 7.35 and Vivid weathers and I keep getting these strange horizontal lines that I only notice on fog and the water. I can also see it on the light emitted by ninroot on the water. Seems like it is a water issue?

OK. So basically, If I want Realistic room rental enhanced and ELFX I just have to live with it, correct?
-
So, do others not have this issue? It seems like I have everything installed correctly and the ELFX and RRR enhanced are just not all that compatible.

Sm0kem, when I disable the SR conflict resolution patch, Dyndolod and ASIS list it as masters. Sorry to confuse you. Yes, My problem is similar to the Static pictures. Like sm0kem said, it is exactly like the ASLAL glitch near mara stature. If you move, the lights switch on/off depending on your angle. here is a short clip of the issue: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kfpzyavdyh0p50t/Elder%20Scrolls%20V%20%20Skyrim%2003.09.2016%20-%2022.37.34.02.mp4?dl=0 As you can see, its really distracting and immersion breaking :(
-
I can't, Master's rely on it. edit: So I disabled it as a test, then disabled DynDOLOD and ASIS that needed it as masters. Loaded game. Same issue. According to the REDDIT post, its a game engine issue.
-
OK, I tried both options moving the ESPs around, neither one fixed my problem. It appears there may not be a fix, others have had the same issue. May want to consider making a change or at least a note to SR:LE so people know about it? https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/comments/2buaoe/elfx_and_realistic_room_rental_help/

I found this on the RRR enhanced forum from someone having other RRR enhanced issues: My load order has EnhancedLightingandFX.esp near the top at 20 (ELFX exterior at 21), and realistcroomrental.esp 72. the RRR_ELFX.esp patch is at 118. So, can I just move the ELFX esps down below Realistic room rental or would I be better off moving RRR up to position 20? Loot apparently doesn't sort these correctly..
-
Anyone think I could fix this issue by adding to the Conflict resolution ESP? I'm not sure which part is the actual issue. I image there will be other issues similar to this in my play through. I went to several other Inns, same type of issue in these inns. Seems like an Issue with the Inns only.....
-
sm0kem. I really don't want to disable ELFX, thanks for the tip on how to do it though. If it becomes to much of a problem I will follow your guide. I'm going to keep searching and waiting for a solution. ELFX is way up in my load order, #20 and #21 for the exterior.esp after running loot. I checked conflicts using TES5edit. There are several conflicts. There was a red conflict with the Riverwood Inn, although I couldn't find exactly what the issue was.
-
Updating the replacement esp for the RRR ELFX Patch did not fix the problem (I'm fairly certain I did this on my first install anyway). The lighting looks really good when it works, I hope someone can figure out a fix for this. I would have to redo my whole install if I was to not use ELFX - which isn't really an option, I think my wife would kill me if I spent another 2 days doing a complete install. Haha. the ASLAL issue isn't a big deal to me. I only mentioned it because I did not know if they were related or not. Edit: StoneWallace17: I disabled ENB using the ENB manager and problem persists.
-
I followed the guide but may have missed the ELFX patch. I will try replacing it this evening after work and give update.

I tried to search but couldn't find much info on this topic. I have installed SR:LE and all seems well accept for some weird lighting issue indoors. In the Alternate start starting jail cell, the candle beside the statue turns on and off depending on my position. This seemed to stop after configuring the MCM for some reason. Now I have made my way to Riverwood. In the Inn the lights flicker and change on the walls/ceiling/floors depending on where i stand or move. It is pretty bad and immersion breaking. Is something wrong, or is this something with the game engine? I checked and ELE seems to be winning all conflicts torwad the bottom of load order as instructed in SR:LE. Any thoughts? I just want to make sure I have no major problems. I plan to do a complete play through of expansions and Falkstaar, Wyrmstooth.

FourOne, I would like to thank you. I had made a fatal error, when i placed my files in ENB manager, i did not go all the way to mods/Vividian - Weather - Lighting Enhancement/Vividian ENB Install Files. I realized this after your last post. I stopped at mods/Vividian - Weather - Lighting Enhancement thus the wrong files were being placed into skyrim folder. I hope I didn't make any other mistakes like this during my SR:LE install. I feel like such an idiot. The game looks amazing now! You guys are very helpful.

FourOne: I checked, Files are in the Skyrim folder already as suggested. Thanks for trying. Neovalen: I can't seem to figure out how to make sure Direct x 9 is up to date. If I do run windows update, it says my system is up to date. Do I need to do something special for direct x 9? Google did not give a good answer. I tried to download direct x 9.0c, but it says I need an older version of windows. I'm on Windows 10. EDIT: found this link https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=8109, I installed Number 02, I think I updated direct x 9. Same problem persisted. Memory dump log shows block 1 512, block 2 256: max block 1 129, max block 2 177 Does this mean the memory patch isn't working correctly?

I can start a new game, after all the MCMs load, if I sleep on the bed from alternate start or load a save game within the starting dungeon, the game crashes immediately on loading. If i change my enbllocal.ini From: [GLOBAL] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=false UseDefferedRendering=true TO: [GLOBAL] UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics=true UseDefferedRendering=false The game will now load. I am on windows 10, 980ti 6gb, 32gb ram, 5820k CPU Any ideas how to fix this? I did the SKSE ini recommended settings, I followed the SR:LE instructions.

Dyndolod causes severe FPS drop after character creation

Well, that certainly explains it. Brute force must be a real resource hog because I have a pretty sweet PC -
Dyndolod causes severe FPS drop after character creation
WizardDoctor replied to WizardDoctor's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I decided to do a quick test before leaving for work, When naming character, the combination of shift +B induces the issue when naming "Baratheon" If it Hit Shift +B again, issue goes away. I modified the enblocal.ini so the limiter was set to 60 befor doing this. Weird. -
Dyndolod causes severe FPS drop after character creation
WizardDoctor replied to WizardDoctor's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Doubleyou, you are correct, default is 10 on my enblocal.ini. I really don't think I accidently was bumping the numblock key, but who knows. I created a character about 10 times whiling trying to sort this out, always naming him "Stannis Baratheon" so perhaps it was something to do with the naming, as it always occured while I was naming him. If I didn't make any edits, and didn't name him, the problem did not seem to occur. The only thing that makes me think it was some other issue is that I had skyrim performance monitor running, and my GPU usage went from 60% to 99% during this severe slow down. I would think my GPU usage would go down if I was lowing the framerate through ENBlocal.ini. (I can test this later if you guys want, but I'm getting ready to go to work for the night.) Nebulous, For some reason I thought moving the racemenuplugin fixed the problem. However, after I added all the Requiem patches and .esps and went through the intro cut scene I had the same problem again. I just quit the game to desktop, and loaded the save game with my character name and everything is running smooth for about 5-6 hours of game time now. Hopefully no future issues pop up. -
Dyndolod causes severe FPS drop after character creation
WizardDoctor replied to WizardDoctor's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I am using DynDOLOD medium. Weird thing is the game runs fine if I load the save that occurs after character creation. I only have this problem when I go from introductory scene and create my character - specifically it occurs while typing name of character - really weird. Its as if it gets hung up on some script or something (I really have no computer programming knowledge, and don't understand all this stuff which is why I followed the guide so closely.) I would just load the save game after character creation and go from there, I am just fearful there is some major underlying issue I can't identify. Thanks for the references, but I followed the STEP reference for Dyndolod. -
https://wiki.step-project.com/User:WizardDoctor/SystemSpecs I run windows 10 Thank you guys so much for all the hard work! I followed Step extended guide with a few exclusions as I'm planning on a requiem 1.9.2 final build. I have souls gems differ and better quest objectives unselected currently because of the requiem patch and need for requiem master. TES5edit will not run with these selected. I made a bashed patch as instructed, but don't have it selected as it is not recommened with requiem 1.9.2. Everything runs smoothly until I follow instructions for dyndolod. No errors reported during texture or world generation. After activating dyndolod, LOOT sorting, then launching, game seems to be running OK. There are a few FPS drops down to about 46 on carriage ride into town. After character creation, while typing name of character, suddenly system slows down to about 12 FPS. GPU usage goes from around 60% to constant 99%. CPU usage seems unaffected. VRAM usage stays under 3GB This continues and game is unplayable. If I load the savegame right after character creation/naming, game seems to run fine? Do I do something wrong? I just want to make sure there is not some underlying problem that is not obvious. I followed all recommend ini tweaks, I have shesons SKSE ini as instructed, and adjusted the enblocal.ini memory settings as instructed. I am running Phinix natural ENB. I want to get my STEP extended setup stable before I start trying to set up requiem. EDIT: added which ENB i use.
