  1. Hello all! I've almost finished updating to STEP 2.2.9.2, but I'm having issues installing the STEP Compilation; I can download it just fine, but when I try to install it, I get this error message when it tries to open the fomod: "The element 'plugin' has invalid child element 'typeDescriptor'. List of possible elements expected: 'files, conditionFlags'." This is my first time trying to install the STEP Compilation. Am I doing something wrong? I'm trying to install the Hi-Res version, if that makes any difference. EDIT: Seems like it was something in my MO settings; setting "prefer" to "true" in the Fomod Installer options fixed things.
  2. Hello all! I'm afraid I don't frequent these forums very often, so I hope this is in the right forum. Recently, ICAIO updated to 2.5.1. Now, I know that 2.5 requires a new game, and I'm okay with that; I've barely gotten started in my newest save. However, I like to use STEP Extended in conjunction with a lot of other non-STEP mods--appearance changers, ENBs, etc. Usually when I update STEP, I like to wipe my mod slate clean to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. But I'm hesitant to start my load order from scratch because of all the tinkering I did this time around to make my game exactly how I wanted it; for example, modifying Purity in TES5Edit to work with Realistic Water, or removing characters from one NPC overhaul mod so they don't overwrite another, and so on. I (very stupidly) forgot to track the Nexus STEP page, and so the appearance of the Compilation patches has caught me off-guard--I last updated STEP with a very late-stage 2.2.9.1 and added ICAIO and USLEEP on my own, along with a handful of the texture mods from 2.2.9.2 that ended up in the Nexus hot files. What would be the best method for switching to an updated 2.2.9.2 without having to redo my load order from scratch? Right now, I'm thinking of copying my current load order to a new profile, making sure the INI matches up properly, checking for and/or updating any new 2.2.9.2 mods, and then looking at the changelog and removing mods as needed before installing the STEP Compilation patches (which I think are going to update soon anyways because of the 2.5.1 ICAIO update?). Does that sound feasible? Or am I just complicating things? As an aside, is STEP 2.3 going to release soon? Should I hold off on updating 2.2.9.2 in favor of 2.3?
  3. I think in the forum on Nexus, Fore mentioned that the wrong file structure error is a bug and will be fixed in version 6.1 really soon.
  4. Hello all! 'Fraid I'm having issues with the newest FNIS version. I have it set up in my load order with all animation mods positioned below it. However, I keep getting a warning about not having the Running with Bow animation, but I do have that installed (even double-checked the mod ID to be sure), and it was detected in the earlier 5.5 version I used three days ago. Moreover, it's throwing a 2012 error about not being able to find these animation files: defaultfemale.hkx, defaultmale.hkx, idlebehavior.hkx, and 0_master.hkx. Following the directions in the first post, I found the defaultfemale/-male files in the data > meshes > actors > character > characters/characters female, though I can't seem to figure out where the idlebehavior or the 0_master is. Unfortunately, both those animations are in the Running with Bow mod, though it also says it's also found in my FNIS V6 mod file and the FNIS Output file. But I'm stuck on what to do next, exactly. The instructions on the front page say to "move the correct mod to the correct location", which I thought meant tweaking my load order. But am I way off? EDIT: Welp, I feel dumb. I rewatched GamerPoet's FNIS tutorial and didn't realize I'd forgotten to run FNIS 6 manually once before doing it again in Mod Oraganizer. Totally solved my problem!
  5. Aha, found it! Your mention of it being in English triggered it. For some reason, my system locale was set to Chinese. :O_o: Can't figure out how it happened, but switching it back to English fixed it; I can see the degree symbol now. So, even though it was roundabout and indirect, thanks for helping!
  6. Just to double check: I'd never heard of XEdit, but looking it up in relation to Skyrim leads me to TES5Edit. Are they one and the same? I'm not sure what kind of information you'd need (I'm not very computer literate when it comes to hardware), but I use an HP h9-1215t desktop, with an English Windows 7 64-bit installed. My processor is an Intel i7-3770K, though I don't usually overclock it. For what it's worth, it seems like the Halloween mod installed just fine in towns and the surrounding areas when I renamed the files, though I believe there is a dungeon installed alongside the mod, so that might be where the Treasure meshes show up.
  7. I check my mods manually before installing them, and I got the "Looks good" text before installing. I'll try re-downloading; I have 5 GB left in my C: drive, so I don't think space is the issue. EDIT: I re-downloaded twice; once with the manager and once manually. Still didn't work, so I checked the manual contents of the file more closely. By disabling the mesh files that ended in ?nif instead of .nif, I was able to install it. I don't know if this means it's a typo or not, since GrantSP was able to install it without any hassle, but I'll take what I can get. Renaming those files within the .zip archive to have the proper extension also works if I import the mod to install it. I'll test it later tonight to see if it loaded properly. I'll mark this as solved if it does.
  8. So I'm trying to install the Epic Halloween Overhaul 2015 mod :https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24385/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D24385%26preview%3D&pUp=1. I have the Legendary version of Skyrim, so it meets the DLC requirement. I can download all three required files (Music, Main, and Essentials) just fine, but I can only install Main and Music. When I try to install Esssentials, it gets 15% completed before I get this message: "can not open output file \\?\C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\mods\2015 Halloween Overhaul - Essentials\meshes\halloween\Treasures\GoldBarrel01?nif" and the installation aborts and I get a "the installation did not complete" message. I've searched the forums and tried disabling the fomod installer as recommended (heck, ALL the installers, in case that did something), and nada. I've posted on the mod maker's thread already, but thinking on it, it sounded more like a Mod Organizer problem, so I'm posting here. Thoughts?
