LOL, I guess we'll need someone else to pick up the torch for sheltered areas. Anyone in? I'm a little too busy ATM but I could chip in with some scripting :)

NetImmerse Override
xiamthewalrusx replied to xiamthewalrusx's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
I don't think it is... at least RaceMenu's mod page doesn't indicate that it is, while it does state that NetImmerse Override is included. I guess we can extrapolate that CharGen Extension is not... I'll extract the .BSA file when I get home later and check. -
Need help interpreting Papyrus log
xiamthewalrusx replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ya, if you're running 1k exteriors you should be good. See what happens when Frostfall is disabled. Also, I'm not sure if you're familiar with Papyrus Script but then logs also show exactly which line in which script is causing the error. Good to know if you want to try a hotfix. -

Sry, I think I was a little confusing (hooray for lack of sleep) and was wrong in my initial post. It should actually be the 17th mod in your order (load up MO and check which mod has an index of 10). There could also be a problem other than scripts. You may also want to check your VRAM usage during the moments before your CTD. -

xiamthewalrusx replied to rootsrat's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Just go to a hex to decimal calculator online to do the conversion. 10 in hex = 16 in decimal. Be aware that the log only includes your active mods... Also, I made a small mistake. It is in fact your 17th mod, since the count starts at 00 (Skyrim.esm). In MO under the "ESPs" tab there is a column named "Mod Index" which will list the index numbers in hex. You should find Frostfall with an index of 10. It does not appear that Frostfall is causing the problem based on this snippet, altho it is spamming a ton of entries. BTW, are you sure this is the bottom of your PapyrusLog0? b/c the first part of that log looks like an OnInit function being run by footprints. Again, if you scroll through your log (and I would recommend WordPad over NotePad) just check to see if there are any instances where the VM is freezing or if a particular mod is spamming a ton of errors. -
NetImmerse Override
xiamthewalrusx replied to xiamthewalrusx's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Agreed. SKSE has taken Skyrim to another level. I was more posting this to make people aware of it's existence than to say it should be included by itself in STEP. I think this resource will open a great number of new doors for modders. -

Also, you'll generally want to look for mods that are constantly spamming errors or produce an entry right before the VM freezes. -

rootsrat, post your load order as well, or you can find the mod(s) which may be causing problems by looking for entries like this one: [07/04/2013 - 09:21:44PM] warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp18" stack: [_DE_Main_1_6 (10015CAE)]._de_epmonitor_1_6.AddStartupSpells() - "_de_epmonitor_1_6.psc" Line 558 [_DE_Main_1_6 (10015CAE)]._de_epmonitor_1_6.MainLoop() - "_de_epmonitor_1_6.psc" Line 410 [_DE_Main_1_6 (10015CAE)]._de_epmonitor_1_6.OnUpdate() - "_de_epmonitor_1_6.psc" Line 357 The mod is found by looking at the first two hex digits in the parenthesis. In this case it would be id #10, or the 16th .esp/.esm in your load order ;) -
Expired (the mad genius who brought us EFF, RaceMenu, and CharGen Extension) has recently outdone himself with the release of the NetImmerse Override SKSE plugin. This new modder's resource allows for scripts to change textures and shaders on armors that are active on a particular actor as well as applying overlays to an actor. The full list of features (which will hopefully be expanded to weapons) includes: Shader Modifiers Emissive Color Emissive Multiple Glossiness Specular Strength Lighting Effect 1 Lighting Effect 2 Texture Set Tint Color (Auto converts shaderType, and can be used to recolor almost anything) Alpha Texture Controller Modifiers Start/Stop Start Time Stop Time Frequency Phase Overlays Add overlays to an Actor Remove overlays from an Actor Check overlays on an Actor Expired describes the purpose of this plugin as: To allow overriding of Armor shader properties that are active on particular Actors. Also allows overriding properties of specific node names (Advanced use only). All modifications are saved to the SKSE co-save and do not need to be re-applied on reload. All armor modifications are re-applied automatically when re-equipped. Some examples of things you can do with it: Runtime texture swapping Runtime emissive color changing (Think daedric glow, you can change the color of that) Stopping/Starting/Modifying time controllers (Think pulsing speed of an animation) This new resource will definitely open up a whole new realm for Skyrim mods! Among these would be adding a glowing tattoo or other feature that grows or increases in intensity as a player levels certain skills, the ability to swap textures (I don't think you can swap meshes, however) on the fly (for example a chameleon armor that changes to Imperial or StormCloak depending on the allegiance of the hold you're in), and adding effects to / swapping textures on enemy armor or shields or your own (imagine a shield that glows brighter as you near an objective or certain enemy type). What do you guys think some good uses for this awesome new resource would be and which mods do you think it could potentially revolutionize?

Try turning it on and repeating the CTD to see what it says. -

Are you still running your Papyrus Log? If so, post the results and also see if you can reproduce the crash with logging disabled -
General questions about SR
xiamthewalrusx replied to Luisangre's topic in Skyrim Revisited (retired)
Why does it matter that they're different resolutions? I think the goal is to have as many 2k textures as possible without constantly breaking the 3GB barrier. This means that you'll have to sacrifice a little quality somewhere, and exterior textures are the place to do this for a variety of reasons. -
Again, the author is apparently suspending all work on the mod so an update may not come for a while. I'll be pretty busy with work this week but I'll try fiddling around with the scripts to see if I can get them to work as planned without the log spams and random forced weather bugs... If I can I'll PM them to RobinSage or upload them to the Nexus :)

State of Skyrim Revisited Updates

Nice... Just saw your sticky on the Nexus about an update including the fixed vanilla mesh. The effect is definitely more subtle, but I do still love using the spell as a projectile :)
