  1. I use Ultimate Combat https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36006//? with SkyRe and all seems to be working quite well.
  2. There is a new interesting mod, that many of you might consider testing: Ultimate Combat by tktk1: https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/36006 Mod ads combat AI improvements, additional "moves" for enemies. by author word it is compatible with SkyRe (and ASIS), and quick check tells me, there are only 4 Game Setting records, that have values conflicting with SkyRe_Combat: fBlockMax, fBlockWeaponBase, fCombatBashReach and fStaminaBlockBase. I think it will be wiser to load it before SkyRe (but it is only educated guess). Judging by authors other work this mod is at last worth checking (or tracking).
  3. Actually, most important (for me, as I was bugging him about for few times) is that he updated levelled lists for Immersive weapons 1.5. Without it, it was sort f ruining new distribution system. And I don't know why, but for me ASIS is very performance heavy. Especially in fights bot not outside too. Disabled for now. And archery... Actually arrows have very good armor piercing qualities (much better then bullets as far as I know) so I believe actually good shield is much better protection (the arrow will penetrate partially, but it won't kill you). When we talking crusade's big battlefield (and this is not situation we usually have in games like Skyrim) we don't see direct snipe-shooting (targeted individually) but targeting area by whole formation of archers on the very high ballistic arch. So energy is considerably smaller and arrow looses a lot of penetration ability. Against such "raining" arrows, good armor is decent protection. And how deadly the shot will be can depend on arrow and the ones we see in Skyrim seem to have some nasty arrow-heads. Same as with bullets: 7.62 will cut mostly clean through, when 5.56 (you would think NATO would be the humanitarian ones) will make a mess internally. At last, this is my understanding of a subject. I'm not an expert.
  4. I followed your advices mostly. Except some values we discussed in PMs (like Fullscreen and vsync). Reverted some Papyrus tweaks too, kept one or two that seemed safe. For auto and quicksaving I use AutoSave Menager now, seem to be working well (it is inspired by CASM) https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/34842/ But mostly i unistalled few mod and I don't have so much freezes. Thanks for or your help. Had few CTDs recently, seem to be happening while sneeking, but not sure for now, working on finding the case. One other question that came up in another thread ( https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=2350 ): what are the mods that will work well with SkyRe and expand werewolfs? Heard that on higher levels they're quite week. Anyone has something to recommend? Guy in mentioned thread is using Werewolf Perks Expanded. I'm looking for something that not only just work, but fit SkyRe general mechanics reasonably.
  5. It's much better to "List packages" in Wrye Bash and paste them in txt form. In spoiler tag of course. And should be easier for you too. Just a suggestion. And thanks for the info about "The Werewolf Perks". I know people were complaining, that at higher levels Werewolfs are not easy to play and I will be looking for something to compliment SkyRe if that's true. However, for me it is not only problem, that this combination will not break my game. Problem is, how well it will work together. Take "Apocalypse Spells" as an example. It will work with SkyRe, and even is recommended by T3end0 but it doesn't fit in combat/magic system. I know author is working on ApocRe, version of his mod for SkyRe. So before I decide, I will take closer look and probably ask around some more. Ahh, and for at last two of your mods (Crossbows Basic Collection, Winter is Coming) you can find compatibility patches here: https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29375 and I don't see them in your list. Here: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=345&pid=31891#pid31891 You can find suggestion, that you probably don't need dynamic fire. But never used myself.
  6. At point 23 of guide should probably be xxxDESGeomancy1 (and not xxxDESGeomance1). I think there is spelling error in guide.
  7. Can't rally read your list of mods (picture I'm getting is to small to read). However, witch so many mods it will be difficult to anyone to troubleshoot (you can only know so many mods), especially when you can't pinpoint circumstances (location, action... anything). What I suggest, if your game is unplayable, is uninstall some mods. Try to build some core mods list and try if it's stable. If not try to read comments on Nexus (and here) on mods you would not like to let go, Google them. I don't know how mods like WerewolfPerksExpanded work with SkyRe. SkyRe is comprehensive Perk overhaul, so I don't know. Many of your mods are very script heavy. Some of the most fun are. Maybe try disabling them in SkuUI, if there is such option, at least for a while. Do you find mods like better sorting necessary when using SkyUI?
  8. It's always dependant on the mods you use. There are some conflicts with UFO in Combat Style category (or Immersive weapons in two or three cases). If you are using Better Skill and Quest Book names, there are some conflicts with SkyRe_Main. If using mods like Immersive weapons, Unique uniques and/or aMidianborn's SkyForge weapons you have to manually set which model should be carried. Some changes from Unofficial patches are not carried through (I'm not always sure if intentionally or not) like in Magic Effect category. Mostly small stuff, but I like to keep things as tidy as posible.
  9. After ReProccer and all others SkyRe files I have my SkyRe_Merged file which is in fact my general compatibility file (except levelled list - I have modified Bashed Patch for that, and NPCs are in separate file too). I merged all post-ReProcer patches into this file and all the compatibility issues I resolve using TES5Edit are put there.
  10. You're sure, you didn't have this errors before? I had them since I was using SkyRe, and from comments I gathered, it's nothing to worry (but I'm not 100% sure, only 80%). If you disable this new mods and run ReProccer without (UFO and Vilja shouldn't be a problem, I'm using this mods too, but try disabling them anyway) do you still have CTDs? No alerts from BOSS Log (like mods to clean)?
  11. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but generally speaking (I know, there are normal maps) clipping is not the issue with textures, but meshes and/or skeletons or animations. So I don't see how compressing can cause clipping. I don't remember any artifacts related to skin documented in DDSopt thread, and I have my skin textures compressed. Stating that they might be some not defined "issues" is not enough for me.
  12. @Smile44 Do you have: 1. Balbor and Steelsouls SkyRe ReProccer Project: https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/27092 2. SkyRe ReProccer Compatibility Patches (by qotsafan) https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/29375 ? I have the errors you have too, but they are fixed in post-ReProccer patches (Error still be in the files, but records will be overwritten by fixed ones). There should be no CTDs.
  13. 15 minutes of fighting a bear? Someone can argue, that fighting a bear shouldn't be easy, especially, when you level 1, but I don't think it will do good to game progression, if regular fights become that long. Bethesda games are longer then any I know. I tend to spend hundred hours having fun playing (and twice that much modding) and mostly not to finish a game. Add to this prolonged fights with common enemies or need to chase after one I almost killed... It seems like fun for a while, but not necessary a proper way to make game challenging considering general design of the game.
  14. More HotKeys Please! ( https://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/23416 ) seem to be far superior solution. Or does "Loadout" do something new or significantly better?
  15. OK Guys, you got me interested in this DUEL AI thing. It certainly would be interesting, to see enemies use better tactics. And you tell me it can go well with SkyRe and ASIS? I don't see why not (SkyRe at its core is more progression then combat overhaul), but they seem to be described as competing mods often. And when T3nd0 seems to change not that much in the enemy AI, both mods seems to have modified stamina mechanics, which for SkyRe seems to be one of the most important balance factors.
  16. Actually I think having this book read may result, that I'll be inclined to be more interested in what they contain. Voiced entries in Mass Effect's Codex made the contained encyclopaedic lore much more accessible. I'm not sure they considering it, but for me the best solution will be, if you could start the reading by opening the book, but continue listening after closing - while exploring.
  17. I was a bit surprised how powerful bows are too. And I rely heavily on them. Some enemies, like many undead in Bleak Falls Barrows were one-shooted. But mostly enemies needed two three arrows. I use Locational Damage mod too (recommended by SkyRe), but even head-shots are not always fatal (and Skyrim definitely wasn't designed, to help you with precision shooting, and SkyRe makes aiming a bit harder too). And when I'm against more than one enemy, or I'm the one surprised, not the other way around, things can get "interesting" fast. Guys with heavier hardware (2H especially) if allowed near me (it doesn't take long, they pretty aggressive) usually have me in strike or two too. And drawing bow goes heavy on stamina too (if you hold it too long preparing, you won't have any left for fighting). And drawing take time too. So: game is less forgiving, and less tedious too. And keep you at your toes. So I don't thing archery becomes some kind of exploit, if it's what your worrying about. At last in my limited experience of low-level character.
  18. @statmonster Nope. Radeon HD6870 (1GB) and Phenom X4 955 for CPU here. No NVidia.
  19. @statmonster I. Reading your response I'm not sure you understood me 100% about MoMod (Skyrim Monster Mod by dogtown1). MoMod was banned from Nexus - as far as I know SkyTEST never was. And in post #4 (by Iroha, author of the guide himself) of this topic there is a line: In addition, I provided reason, creator of MoMod was banned. For me they seem reasonable. Moding pages are full of people, sometimes even some quite accomplished modders, playing victim, how Nexus in banning without reason. Fans of the mod raging as defenders. But like Phill Collins sings: "We'll always need to hear both side of the story".Meanwhile - author of the SkyTEST is claiming, that there was no raports of instability on v1.30, and problems some experienced in 1.28 seem to be fixed. II. Yes. I DDSOpted my Vanilla textures, and running most if not all textures from mods through DDSopt as well. Especially, when I see texture which is like 22MB heavy (=uncompressed). Done some reduction of normals too, where it seemed appropriate and/or was suggested. Read the whole guide, and even most of the forum's thread 70+ pages (except the places, where ppl were asking over and over again about same thing). Also used BSAOpt on most of my BSAs. My shadow are as low as 1024 (and using ENB for better and more performance friendly shadow options). Slightly reduced particle count. Tweaked a bit Papyrus settings. No Z-fighting options or dangerous uGrid tweaking. My FPS is usually over 40, sometimes over 50 with SSAO and other ENB goodies, but even disabling ENB doesn't seem to prevent these freezes, and I'm like out of ideas. I did my diligence, read guide after guide, forum thread, googled, tried troubleshooting my load order best I can. Already improved performance and stability significantly in some areas. Currently investigating ASIS and WATER and they effects on my performance (areas around water and heavily populated seemed affected most). Just because, these are only ideas I have ATM.
  20. Oh, wow, it's actually my post on the Nexus :D. First: Greetings. Just registered - been lurking for a few weeks on this forum (quite useful even if I don't follow whole STEP, it's good reference tool), while updating my modding skills and preparing set of mods to start playing Skyrim. I deliberately waited for the mod community and tools to mature. Too many Beth games tend to be quite disappointing unmodded - mostly gameplay wise sadly. And don't get me started, on they crappy, stiff, mechanical animation system (sadly, good mods in animation area are rare, and can't do too much). Second (and on topic): thanks for creating this guide. Just few days ago I was googling and browsing/reading on the subject and information was hard too find (and contradicting BOSS reports vs. SkyRe author's statement of compatibility was worrying me). I decided early, that I'm going with the SkyRe, but AI and spell/perk distribution of ASIS was something I wanted, if I can only get it (not interested in spawns, never suffered lack of enemies to kill in Beth game - tedious-hacking-combat and unrewarding levelling system is my problem). I'll be checking this thread, and if I find anything more to contribute, I'll be sure to bring it up here. Third: in one of early posts (#4), you seems to mix up a bit MoMod (which is the one banned) with SkyTEST. I'm currently using SkyTEST (but if it can cause problems, I will give it some more though and read). Hmmm... MoMod... On the one hand, yes, his model are impressive. On the other hand, I had some bad experiences with MoMod for Fallout new Vegas. I may not be lore fanatic, but I care a lot about this things, as world mythology is the principle of immersion for me. I may like some occasional Eyecandy, like Tauriel companion, but things like out of place monsters at every corner (or skimpy armor and perfect body for every famale: Offtop, but tried and hated it few games before), does not add to the game for me. And, at last FNV: MoMod was quite gamebreaking (gameplay wise). Spawns were wild and totally unbalanced. What more, author of the MoMod was banned for stealing resources. Millenia's (quite genius Nexus Texture artist, if sb don't know this) among others. More details here:Â https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/853921-dogtown1-banned/ But I'll be happy to read about your experiences. Fourth: I have to test it some more to be sure - I'm still struggling to stabilize by framerate and eliminate quite frequent FPS drops in some condition, but does ASIS cause performance issues (or have potential to do so) in heavy populated areas (I'm only in Whiterun) - I mean because of the changes to NPCs behaviour? And at the end, of this lengthy post (sorry!) one more question/suggestion. I haven't really fighted any dragons yet (why play, when you can mod? ;)). SkyRe fight are rather fast paced (wchich I like) - but how's your experience with Deadly Dragons? Of course I want Dragons challenging. But stories about skirmishes that last days give me a bit of pause: are the enjoyable or tedious? Any suggestion for DD settings, to play nice with SkyRe-ASIS combination, or should I leave it as is?
