  1. I've found that I do not need the services of MSi Afterburner. My GPU does not need overclocking in any way shape or form for the games I play. And that was my screenshot application. But it uses 2%+ CPU just sitting there, so I've uninstalled it. I could not see wasting my 4690k, which also has been un-overclocked for the same reasons, on a background application for the stray screenshot here and there. I'll just have to move them manually and edit them. Then save them as the format I desire. Some websites do not accept .bmp. I've no clue why.
  2. I can not seem to find the answers anywhere to this. Can I change the default screenshot format? And can I set a specific save location? The default format appears to be .bmp and they save to my Skyrim folder. I'd like them to be .jpg and save to a specific folder for my gaming screenshots.
  3. So I've pushed Uthgerd's GPU to it's limit. Here are my latest benchmarks: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/6270329
  4. There's never a bad time to build your own.
  5. I've been looking for a game to replace The Elder Scrolls Online... I'm not certain this will be the one. The graphics are a bit disappointing for a FB3 game. Or maybe I'm expecting too much? I'm about to expose my former console loving side... This game reminds me of Forza Horizon. Like a mainstream spinoff of a decent game, which just so happens to be mainstream already. And it should be viewed as such. It's NOT BF:5. It's like Guitar Hero Rocks the 80's. I may give it a spin if I can catch it on a Steam Sale. Or Origin, w/e.
  6. Ha! I'd pay to watch that!
  7. Uthgerd was the first NPC I married in TES:V... so my hands were tied. ;)
  8. Build updated, photo's too. See "Uthgerd" link in my signature.
  9. And her wrists are strong enough to fire two DE 50's.....
  10. I do not have the resolution. But I can offer assurance that ENBoost works perfectly, installed as instructed by STEP, on my 290x Lightning. I use the Wrapper Version. EDIT: I REALLY need to pay more attention to the dates of these posts! lol
  11. It's about 5 fps in Skyrim w/ Vsync off w/ the CPU & GPU OC. But the overall stability is where the overclock really shines. A smooth as butter STEP:Core w/ ENB & uGrids7. Now in The Elder Scrolls Online, it's about 15fps. ESO hits hard on one core, so the CPU OC really shines in games that hit 1-2 threads really hard. Just ordered new case fans. Took the stock 200mm out of the front and put 2 140mm's in it's place. Purchased 2 120mm's for the bottom intake. Took out the crap Thermaltake's I had and purchased 3 140mm's for the top exhaust. All Phanteks' fans.
  12. So a quick update: I realized about a day ago that my Hyper 212 EVO was not installed properly for two reasons: 1)I failed to install the mounting nuts to the mobo in a tight fashion - Fixed 2)Upon initial installation, I struggled to get the bracket lined up with the mounting nuts and pulled it off AFTER MAKING FULL CONTACT WITH THE CPU & THE APPLIED THERMAL PASTE! -Fixed Under heavy load like 7zip, IntelBurnTest, or 95, I'd see temps like 82c on core 1 and 80c on 2-4. After fixing it, my temps have come way down as shown by this simple 7zip operation: Before OC: After OC: The second image in each set is just to show a simple performance difference. The speed of the compression was greatly improved when overclocked. So, yes, the overclock still brings more heat... known fact. But none the less, going from 82c to the low 60's is a decent improvement. Likely do to incorrect thermal paste application and/or the heat pipes not making firm contact to the CPU. Thoughts? Is 62c under 100% load too high? Should I purchase and install something like a X61 Kraken or H110i GT liquid CPU cooler? Mobo stays at a max of 29c unless GPU is under load, and at that point I think it's max is around 40c. And that's a hog 290x Lightning that is overclocked. For a base z97, this ASRock z97 Anniversary ATX has really impressed me. Yes my name is there... no, I don't care. ;)
  13. Thanks... It's been awhile since I've run ELEP. Actually, on my last system was my last go with it. I'll see what she thinks.
  14. Ah, I must have overlooked this element, I'll just leave them maxed then. Thanks. No problem. I use this every time I re-tweak my ini's. Works very well. I just didn't see a need to harass a current thread, or start a new one just to put it out there.
  15. I'm not sure if it can be set to full as I've always followed the guide perfectly. I'm not afraid of my system letting me down, I'm afraid to contradict whatever it is that setting them to half is supposed to do... or fix.
