Weird subtitle problem
Interinactive replied to weirdgeordie's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thank christ for this thread This was pissing me off to no end! -
I hated the 'but perks in 1.8 must be cool' feeling and decided to start again. 30hrs out the window... but oh well. I must say, I'm a hell of a lot faster than I was before and I'm finding that a lot of this is easier. I actually like it better this way as well. While having every mod under the sun was nice, picking and choosing others that weren't on the list, and disabling around 180 of them (yep, 180) gives me a lot less to worry about
-
Doh. That was disabled, but since I went back and redid Jaysus with the patch and CCOR, it enabled again. I've been playing for an hour and a half without a crash so far. One thing I have noticed though is that wildlife seems to have double the loot it should. I remember this issue from last year but I can't recall the fix :/
-
Re-installing SMIM with 'lanterns' checked fixed the lantern issue Why do they tell you not to select it in the guide? One issue I have with MO; why's it tell me mods are out of order when they're not? eg: Put the Paarthurnax after CCOR, when it already is after CCOR? When I hit 'fix', it does nothing, and the error goes away.
-
I did follow that guide on the CCOR page (or to be more specific, Sharlikran's forum post) so hopefully that's sorted then I will add the other patches now since I have Frostfall, WIC, SIC and Cloaks. Edit: All done, hopefully that's it
-
There doesn't seem to be a menu for the installer and I can't see any additional ESM/BSA files apart from the main one for CCOR. I did remove the main plugin and create the new textures/meshes from the original BSA, but I can't see anything in CCOR that ads the esm file instead.

That's what I did do, and I'm *pretty* sure the load order is now correct. But coming from ~20hrs of following an exact guide down to the letter, to 'do work yourself' is very daunting. I'm still not 100% if the order is correct, because as you said, there's not an order for every conceivable mod to compare it to. Before I begin an epic ~400hr adventure, it'd be great if someone could go over the load order in my pic. I'll donate some money to your favorite charity, to this site, gift a game, anything really. I intend for this to be my last run through of Skyrim and I really don't want to have issues further down the line.
-
Jaysus swords isn't covered in the guide. Is there more on that elsewhere? I just fixed Closefaced helmets. The game itself is okay so far, the only issue I can see is that my lanterns are all purple. I'm trying to figure out why by disabling certain mods..

Well I'm done. Here's what I recall doing: Installed STEP extended Made custom load order rules in LOOT (as per STEP guide) Installed Survival Pack Installed Requiem Pack Installed some of my own mods using Aziroks patches Sorted with LOOT Manually sorted Requiem mods (based on what I could find) Created Bashed patch (deselected all things related to Requiem, merged nothing) Ran the Dual Sheath Skyproccer Loaded a save game out of Helgen The game didn't crash. Woohoo. But I bet I have *some* issues. Here is my load order: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/34687130/stuff/skyrimorder.jpg I know I've been a pest with my questions, but this is my first time modding something so large. I've put in well over 20 hours trying to get it right so I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could let me know what's wrong with that load order before I continue. Thanks
-
These instructions seem crazy to me. For example; the survival pack was recommended with STEP and Requiem, and the survival pack includes Hunterborn. Azirok doesn't have Hunterborn in his load order. The survival pack page doesn't have a load order at all. The Requiem pack page doesn't mention it either. At this point, how can I find out where it goes? LOOT/BOSS seems to put Requiem files all over the place so I can't trust that.
-
For Skytest, here's what I'd install based on the instructions (selected in blue): Can anyone make any sense of what I should actually use here? Instructions can be interpreted in so many ways at times. I don't see why they don't say something like: Install one of these main mods: Mod1, mod2, mod3 etc Install one of these patches to match the main mod: Patch1, patch2, patch3 etcAnd do I need the 70MB BSA or can I just use these? Again, the instructions...

I'm at work so I haven't been able to test it yet. Here's the plan though for this afternoon, maybe someone here can preempt something I might do wrong before I do it: Merge the Requiem patches LOOT sort my mods (I've made the necessary manual load order mods from the STEP guide as well) Sort the Requiem ones manually (after all of the other mods, and according to the Requiem pack) Make a bashed patch for the STEP mods Pray to at least 7 different gods for success Actually.. I'm not really sure at which point I need to make a bashed patch. I'm pretty sure that's correct. Also, for Closed Face Helmets, can I just use the Vanilla/DG/DB mods separately instead of the one that combines them? Just so that I don't have errors coming up for the associated Requiem patch.
-
I'm too committed now, plus I doubt we'll get updated versions of Hard times and a few other patches any time soon. But good news for a lot of people I'd imagine
-
Haha for ****s sake... I only went back to 1.7.3 because of no (decent) 1.8 Dragonborn compatible patch. Why you do this.
-
Since I'm on 1.7.3 I think Azirok has an entire version for Requiem on his patch page, meaning you can get the mod + compatibility right there Still not sure about the Requiem STEP patch :/
-
I've got all of STEP + Extended + All of the Requiem Pack stuff I was told to add + Survival Pack + Immersive weapons, ELFX lighting, Interesting NPCs, Inigo, Fantasy Music Overhaul, OBIS... nothing major. I'd like to add Skytest as well but I'm assuming there's an issue with that.
-
I'm still confused though. What does the out of date patch handle, and if you aren't supposed to use it now, what do I use in its place? Surely it had some purpose
-
I'll wait for Smile's word before I proceed on anything there. I need to figure out what to merge with the Requiem patches and this affects that in a big way Thanks again..
-
Hmm. Odd. Why would they leave it listed on this page under 'Patches for STEP CORE, Extended and SR:LE'? https://wiki.step-project.com/Pack:Requiem
-
If I got the Legendary version of Improved Closefaced helmets, why is the STEP Requiem patch asking for a 'imp_help_imp.esp'? Is there a reason they aren't picking up the Legendary edition? Is this okay to leave like this? It's also looking for 'Run For Your Lives' but your notes mention 'Run For Your Lives - unnecessary as Requiem handles this', why would your STEP Requiem patch require something already handled by Requiem? So close now :: Thanks
-
I'm up to 243 mods as well and I still have the Requiem patches. Is there a limit to the mods? I once heard it was technically 260. What happens if you add too many? Will merging the RQ patches count at one?
-
You know what, I really don't want to screw this up and I feel like I'm hogging the topic with my own issues. Can someone really knowledgeable about all of this add me on Steam so I can pester you with questions? I'll gift you a ~$40 Steam game of your choice for your troubles. It's: Coflash if you're interested. Thanks.
-
Ok great. I really don't want to make it easy. I've now been through the Requiem + Survival packs, I notice SkyTEST isn't listed. Is there any reason for that, or why I can't use it? One more dumb question (since I used to use NMM, not Mod manager) - when I install say, Jaysus swords and there's an update. Do I install them separately, or install the first and then merge the patch when it asks? I assume that either way it overwrites the files it needs to right? Thanks
-
Thanks again for the help :) With Skyrim-Community-Uncapper (in STEP), I found a Requiem related post where it said not to add that as you will become too powerful. Is there any reason to keep it for this? I also notice that Dual Sheath has a Requiem patch, but it says it's for 1.8 :/
-
Won't I have issues without Requiem installed as well? I followed previous instructions, for some mods I installed Requiem patches (that came bundled with them) during the STEP process. Without those, won't it crash as it can't find the Requiem Dependency? I've done both Core and Extended now. I'm up to the STEP patches, but again on the last step I'm not sure whether I should install both of them. Does extended include Core at all, or are they both needed?
