  1. Hi Greg, Thanks, finally worked it out - yes, I was being dumb DANNY
  2. Hello, I've just started modding Fallout New Vegas using this guide and Mod Organizer 2 - now have to 'clean' my first mod using FNVEdit. Maybe I'm being stupid, but I'm stumped almost right at the very beginning when the guide says: "When FNVEdit loads, right click the mod list and choose "Select None"." I've looked and looked, but cannot see the 'Select None' option when you right click the list. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, DANNY
  3. Hello, Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong place. I have just started to mod Fallout New Vegas using the STEP guide with MO2. So far, I've got to the 'Fixes' section, having just installed New Vegas Anti-Crash and New Vegas Stutter Remover (but without doing the INI file edits for the latter). Everything seemed fine up to this point, but now the grass suddenly pops up almost in front of you - which is quite annoying. Any idea what is wrong? Maybe it is something to do with the the tweaks made to the 'fallout.ini' and 'fallout.prefs.ini' files in the previous section (INI Tweaks)? My specs are: Windows 10 Pro & Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) \ Intel Core2 Duo E8600 (3.4ghz) \ Abit IP-35 Pro (Rev. 2.00/BIOS v1.8 Beta) (Socket 775) \ 8GB Corsair PC2-6400 800mhz XMS (4 X 2) \ PNY GTX 9700 XLR8 OC 4GB \ Corsair HX 620w PSU \ Hitachi CCTV DVR 7200rpm 64MB 2TB \ Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD \ Sharkoon T9 Value \ Arctic Cooling Alpine 11 Pro \ Samsung Writemaster SH-S223Q \ Acer 24" X243H Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, DANNY
  4. Yes, everything is checked. DANNY
  5. Hello, Apparently, MO2 does not work very well with Fallout New Vegas. I can post my logs if you like (if you tell me how to do it, that is!). DANNY
  6. Hello, After quite a few years absence, I've recently restarted Fallout New Vegas on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Obviously thought I would mod it up using this guide and Mod Organizer (v1.3.11). Everything seems fine accept FNVLodGen, which I cannot get working using MO - though works fine if I use it directly without MO. Whenever I try to use FNVLodGen within MO I always get the error message: 'An error has occurred while loading modules - EStreamError: Cannot open Update.bsa.The system cannot find the file specified>'. However the 'Update.bsa' file is definitely there with FNV's Data folder, and FNVLodGen is in the main/root folder - any idea what is going wrong? Thanks, DANNY
  7. Thanks for your help.
  8. For some reason, my TES5Edit backups folder (and hence the backups) is within the Mods folder and not the Overwrite folder - which is wrong, right?
  9. Have to admit, I'm still baffled by the cleaning Dawngaurd.esm process. The guide says "double-click Overwrite to open it and drag the TES5Edit Backups folder from Overwrite to the TES5Edit Backups mod", and you say: "Rirgt click the mod in the left pane and select open in explorer. Double click the overwirte folder and you can drag the folders and files to the explorer window" - but I do not have anything in my Overwrite folder, so how do I do this? (Indeed, I have two TES5Edit folders). I'm missing the obvious, no doubt, but if you (or someone else) can talk me through the process again that would be great
  10. "When the left pane is sorted by priority and zero is at top that it will be higher than all the rest of the mods" - but I thought the mod with the highest number had the highest priority? If the Cleaned Update ESM is at the top of the list then it will have the lowest priority (ie, zero).
  11. Eventually found it, but I've just realised that (stupidly) I did not make a backup of Update.esm from <skyrim>/data directory - is this going to be a problem? Also, what exactly does this mean - "each subsequent time TES5Edit is used to edit a file, open Overwrite and drag the TES5Edit Backups back to this mod"? I currently have nothing in my Overwrite folder, so a step-by-step idiots' guide to how I do this would be really appreciated Also, the guide says: "The Cleaned Update ESM mod should be placed at the top of Mod Organizer's left pane" - does that mean it should have the lowest or highest priority? EDIT: Damn, I think I've really screwed up re: cleaning the Dawnguard.esm. Once again, I didn't make a copy of the original Dawnguard.esm - then the guide says this: "Locate the TES5Edit Backups mod created during the Update.esm cleaning process. Double-click Overwrite to open it. Drag the TES5Edit Backups folder from Overwrite to the TES5Edit Backups mod". Now I'm totally confused. I don't have anything in my Overwrite folder - but my Mods directory looks like this: mods\TES5Edit Backups\TES5Edit Backups, and in that last folder I have three files ('Dawnguard.esm.backup' x 2 and 'Update.esm.backup'. Just for the record, in the FIRST TES5Edit folder there is a folder called 'Textures' (empty) and a file called called 'Meta.ini'. Any idea what is going on? Regards, DANNY
  12. Hi, I've just started modding the Skyrim Legendary Edition using the STEP guide. I've successfully installed & configured all the utilities/extenders and done all the INI tweaks (or so it seems). However, when it comes to 'Clean the update ESM' (with TES5Edit), I appear to have hit a slight problem. According to the guide: "After cleaning, there shall be files in Overwrite (essentially a fake mod located at the bottom of the left pane if sorted by priority ascending) created by TES5Edit. Right-click Overwrite and select Create Mod". But I do not have an Overwrite entry in the left pane, though MO warns me that "there are files in your Overwrite mod" and gives me the following advice: "It is advisable you empty the Overwrite directory by moving those files to an existing mod. You can do this by double-clicking the Overwrite mod and use drag&drop to move the files to a mod. Alternatively, right-click on Overwrite and create a new regular mod from the files there." Unfortunately, I cannot see or find the Overwrite entry/mod in MO - though I do have an Overwrite folder in my MO directory: ie, Mod Organizer\overwrite\TES5Edit Backups (and in the latter folder there is a file called 'update.esm.backup'. Any idea what the problem is and how I can fix it? Here are my specs: Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) \ Intel Core2 Duo E6750 \ Abit IP-35 Pro \ 4gb Corsair Twin2X2048 XMS Xtreme Performance (800mhz) \ Gigabyte Windforce GTX660 2GB OC \ Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer. Thanks, DANNY
