  1. I use this mod since a long time now and i love it. i think it looks waay better than any Enb - CoT setup i tried out. what i do is i use it in combination with a minimal enb preset with only detailed shadows on.
  2. Are there any other incompatibility issues with the new patch? would i be wise to upgrade to the new version with a full step installed?
  3. this can be regarded as solved then. what happened (and i have no idea why), is that all the .png files in the original interface\book folder have been transformed into dds files. i just copy pasted the originals in there and deleted the dds files, and it works now. thank you techangel85!
  4. yes i did. as far as i know i followed the instructions as well. i extracted the original bsa file. so now the textures are loose files.
  5. Not sure if STEp related. Probably not, cause i have not read about this issue before. But lets see: In some Books, instead of the first letter (that is apparently an Image file or texture) i just see a colorful written "img:" placeholder. Didnt bother me so far, but it also accures on treasure maps instead of the map. anyone has similiar problems? what files are missing here? thanks.
  6. Works like a charm!
  7. Radiant and Unique Potions & Poisons changes the looks of Potions, SkyRe changes some stats and names and obviously the skill point potions. So its a minor conflict. The mod author conformed, that it should work. A compatibility patch could only resolve the skill potions problem, but i guess that is solved by the Reproccer and a bashed patch as well.
  8. i wasn't and will never blame step for any of the trouble it gives me to mod skyrim. i love step, and follow it since day 1 (actually it was day 7 after the first release on nexus if my endorsement can be believed). and concerning the brain. well. brains are overrated anyway. ad topic. yeah, i dont use the interior tweak neither.
  9. telling you, its the damn z-fighting values. :) at least for me it was. and it kinda all makes sense to me: what those z-fighting tweaks do (as far as i understand) is to load LODs of far away regions. so when you leave Falkreath, Skyrim tries to load all the exterior landscape, objects, LODs and so on. So i guess this is where SSD or Video Memory or something comes in. If you have a fast enough system, than it seems to work. But if you have a mid-range rig, like i do, without SSD and only 1 gb of video memory, plus massiev amount of mods, than skyrim seems to get problems with the amount of memory needed to load in all those landscapes. Thus deinstalling Distand LOD Mods, Map Tweaks, and Z-Fighting Ini tweaking is likely the reason for infinite loading screens. therefor i would recommend that STEP includes a warning in the section with the z-fighting guide. cause for me it was definite those ini values.
  10. where do you get them? did you try to deinstall distand terrain / object mods and/or put them values above to standard values?
  11. reduce it to 300000 or something. all i did was trail and error. standard value is 150000 i think. does it solve the infinite loading screen?
  12. exactly my thought! yeah its just about the flickering.
  13. that's right. i lowered mine as described in the other thread. probably could restore them to default values to narrow the source of the infinite loading screens down.
  14. yes and yes. i reduced it even further down, and the infinite loading screen issue is gone. there is some noticable z-flickering flickering on the mountains far off, but thats a small tradeoff for being able to play smoothly. try it, my current settings: fTreeLoadDistance=55000.0000 fBlockMaximumDistance=300000.0000 fBlockLevel1Distance=100000.0000 fBlockLevel0Distance=55000.0000 fSplitDistanceMult=4.0000
  15. i had an infite laoding screen issue in whiterun, and deleting the z-fighting ini tweaks solved it for me. try that!
