Okay, so I'm having an especially weird problem this time around, and it's only limited to Dawnguard, it seems. Specifically as far as I've seen, Castle Volkihar. So I'm exploring the area leading to Valerica's Courtyard, and suddenly objects and textures start disappearing at certain angles. For instance, a section of wall unloads if I look at it at a certain angle. That angle of course being, straight at it from ten feet away. Being close to it and looking at it from a 45 degree angle somehow causes it to reappear, though. Similar things happen to small piles of straw. A cooking pot has a distorted texture/mesh splayed across its rear like a broken object. I have no idea what's causing this, as it's only seemed to happen in Castle Volkihar. I tried reinstalling Dawnguard, to no avail. Below are my system specs and load order. Running STEP 2.2.8 Extended Load Order: Mod List: i5-3570k @3.40GHz8GB DDR3 1600Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 4GB It's worth noting that I'm running RealVision ENB, but I've already confirmed that's not the source of the problem. Edit: Editted to include Mod List as well as Load Order.

New to Tes5edit, trying to remove STEP Extended Patch reference?

Um, so you know... Noob question but, how? -

Yep, did that, found the reference, killed it, then "Clean Masters" 'd the STEP Extended Patch. Skyrim is launching now, so you know, I guess it worked. It didn't until I did the "Clean Masters", but now it is. I just wanted to make sure that was the right thing to do. -

Wow, thanks for the rather quick responses. I must admit that I saw those threads, but was perhaps too hasty in reviewing their information. My bad, really. So I removed the reference, but it still says it is missing a master in Mod Organizer. So uh... What do I do about that? Edit: I right-clicked and selected "Clean Masters". I think that did it? If that was the wrong thing to do, please let me know. -
Hello, I come with yet again another problem regarding my installation. As a quick statement, I'd like to just go ahead and state yes I am using an older version of STEP. I know this probably entitles me to less support than someone who is more up to date, but I still have a problem I can't seem to solve nonetheless. Anyway, on to my issue. I'm running a mostly stock setup of STEP 2.2.8, and I'm really quite satisfied with the most of the mod selection it offers. However, that being said, I'm attempting to exchange Ars Metallica for Complete Crafting Overhaul. And seeing as Skyrim won't launch with missing masters... The STEP Extended patch is giving me a spot of trouble. I'm aware that Tes5edit can be used to remedy this situation but I have no idea how to go about doing so. I was hoping perhaps someone could help me? Any assistance offered would be greatly appreciated. I feel like system specs aren't really required for this particular problem, but I'll provide them anyway: i5 3570k 8gb DDR3 1600 Gigabyte GTX 970 4GB (G1 rev 1.1 model)

Missing Cave Asset? Not sure what's going on.
Vanusk replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
If it's as easy as that then I might update, but at the same time I'm concerned for my save file. I'd rather not have to start a new game right now and I'm concerned updating my STEP would affect my current one negatively. -
Okay, so I'm running through Chillwind Depths and I notice some floating patches of dirt hovering where I assume there ought to be a cliff wall. My companion catches up to me and his torch illuminates the wall, revealing that part of the cliff face is missing - not a texture missing, the entire cliff model. Oddly enough though, its collision is still registering. I double checked by clicking multiple times to see if I was right, and sure enough everywhere I clicked returned the same FormID. Not really sure what would cause this, I've had a texture problem before, but that was a VRAM allocation issue - I can say with certainty this is a whole different issue entirely. From my understanding if just the texture was missing, then the model would be painted purple or black. It's completely invisible. Here's a picture of the issue: I used tes5edit and nifskope to find the mesh and texture. mesh: CaveGCliffs03NS.nif texture: CaveBaseGround01.dds/ CaveBaseGround01_n.dds I am using STEP Extended 2.2.8, yes I know I'm out of date. I'm really hoping that isn't the cause of my issues, because I'd prefer not to have to re-do my Skyrim install at this current juncture. My mod manager is Mod Organizer. If there's anything more that I need to share, please don't hesitate to tell me so. I'd like to get this resolved as painlessly and quickly as possible. Texture Errors throughout Skyrim: black, blue, invisible
Vanusk replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I know this thread died long ago, but I figured I might as well post that I think I solved the mystery when sitting back down to play some Skyrim today. Turns out I'm an idiot and improperly installed RCRN with MO, a mistake I rectified. In the process, I undid STEP's setup of the enblocal.ini. Oops. With both problems fixed, Skyrim has so far run like a dream with no problems thusfar. However, I accidentally BOSS'd my "Improved Close-Faced Helmets_Legendary.esp" (from Weapons and Armor Fixes) out of load order and can't seem to figure out where it goes. STEP 2.2.8 (version I'm on, haven't updated yet) probably explains where to put it, but I can't figure it out after looking back through the instructions. I'm probably just blind. -

Vanusk replied to Vanusk's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Doesn't seem to be an issue with Vanilla Textures. Edit: Would it help if I went back and tried extracting all the mod .BSAs? Edit edit: I didn't at first because Mod Organizer told me not to if I "didn't know what it means" or w/e. I also saw on the guide that there's no advantage to it. However, is it possible I've got so much crap on my game that I need to extract the .BSAs? Edit edit edit: I got bombarded by work issues, but came back and sat down and optimized Skyrim's Vanilla textures, then loaded them before any mods so that the mods would then load their textures. Seems to have solved any issues. If anything else arises, I'll add it in another edit. Edit edit edit edit: Didn't solve, post below explains. -

For the Vanilla textures, how would I go about doing that? As for corner cutting... I'm just really forgetful. With Nexus's spotty downloads over the past few days I've started downloads with them only to time out before even downloading anything, sending me to an error page and I have to keep refreshing the page before anything downloads. I come back a while later and have to figure out exactly where I left off. I know I sound like I'm making excuses, but I don't want to be seen as an idiot and abandoned to rot in error hell. -

Sigh... Okay, apparently I botched the ENBoost install. I'm a frickin' genius, I know. So I fixed that, got the latest Binaries and whatnot, but now it CTDs at the end of every loading screen. Edit: Fixed the CTD by dropping a .zip'd enbseries.ini into RCRN, forgot I needed to do that. After getting it to launch proper, I'm still getting issues, but it takes much more travel and such to generate them. White Hall in Dawnstar remains a hotspot. -

It isn't only weapons and armor, it's been anything you can think of, from mounted heads on the wall to grass outside riverwood. It's especially confusing because the textures don't break every time. Edit: I can most easily reproduce the issue by visiting the White Hall in Dawnstar so here are some screenshots. Everything's fine: https://puu.sh/9JdD5/5954fafc02.png Everything's definitely not fine: https://puu.sh/9JdGG/77c91a84c0.png Note: Rug, throne, chair left, Lydia's face -

See that's the thing, it was working fine until just now. Regardless, I'll do what you guys recommend. As far as problems, they're still occurring. Impending edit with more details, but ideas in the meantime would be appreciated. (I disabled Immersive Armors and rebuilt the patch to test in the meantime.) Edit: I thought it might just be the Dawnstar White Hall (because when it broke, certain things in there kept breaking), but it's just as flakey with what things break and when. -

Okay, I moved all of the mods as instructed, then went to Rebuild the bashed patch. However, this popped up when I did so: https://puu.sh/9J9jE/a7800c7dd6.png Any idea what it means?
