  1. You got skyrim modded, running and fixed the Whiterun problem. I hate you. My wife hates you. :)
  2. @justjr - I hate you. A vanilla install running only the optimized textures, the cleaned dawnguard and hearthfires esps, SKSE and alternative start (so I can start in Whiterun for testing purposes) doesn't crash here. Do the other HD textures such as Skyrim HD, SRO and Serious HD need to be run through DDSopt? What about WATER, etc.? Should I remove the esps from the overwrite fold and copy them to their respective mod folders? (this would clean up the esp window in Mod Organizer when the mods are not loaded. At the moment my esps window displays all of the fixes lying around in the overwrites folder)
  3. Yup. I spent about 10 hours yesterday working on this problem. I think it's the location you're talking about. Leave Whitehaven, turn left, go past the meadery. Depending on my setup it crashes upon approaching the bridge, crossing the bridge or during the animal encounter (wolf or skeever). I can reliably duplicate it and it does not occur when I have everything up to section 4.6 (The people of Skyrim) installed. I had a feeling that the XP32 new animations were part of the problem and removed them, this eliminated the ActorTypeDwarven errors from the lvlpredatorscript.psc script but with later mods loaded, the crash returned. I used a fresh game every time, no saves. Gut feeling said that it has something to do with SKSE. I also have the greyed out and italicised titles plux red box with X in the flags column for: ENhanced blood textures dawnguard compatibility patch Improved weapon impact effects Yngol barrow button fix I have a grey lightning bolt in the flags column for: HRDLC1 Optimized HRDLC2 Optimized AOF Detailed Mountaing Tobes Highres Textures 1_2b SMIM Patch (wrong load order perhaps? The conflicted files are provided by SMIM) Ultimate HD Torch rheadude compatible (Overwritten by the other Ultimate HD torch mod) UNP base body (your textures only installation is overwritten by the other skins (either fitness or in my case, milkdrinker [an awesome skin]) Other grey lightning bolts are due to the presence of the esp files in the overwrite folder. Forgive the n00b question: But where do I find the SKSE.ini file? I've checked my skse mods directories, the skyrim/data subdirectories and mygames/skyrim and can't find it. As they are "obsolete", do we need the official HighResTexturePack01 and HighResTexturePack02 bsa enabled via skyrim.ini? Do we need to load the obsolete optimized packs? I've also noticed some flickering in the long-distance mountain textures.
  4. Well, I have it up and running and it looks awesome. Although I've dropped ugrids to load from 7 to 5, it still eats up all VRAM goes from 150 MB upon launch to 2 GB and the game crashes after a short time if I run or ride a long distance. I'm running a 2GB GTX680 and I'm surprised that it can't handle this. I've optimized the skyrim vanilla and DLC textures, and all of the Texture packs that I integrated were 1024 or 2048, nothing extreme. I had the same problem with my previous mod install using the TPC. Have I overlooked something yet again? Having said that: Even with everything installed, FRAPS shows 60 fps when running outdoors. I've tried starting a new game without the SRO, Serious HD and HD2k textures, leaving me with about 300 MB VRAM and it still crashes in exactly the same place: When I get attacked by a wolf outside Whitehaven. The last few lines of the papyrus log always look like this: [01/26/2013 - 06:03:14PM] Error:Â (000DC8E1): cannot enable an object with an enable state parent. stack: [ (000DC8E1)].lvlpredatorscript.Enable() - "" Line ? [ (000DC8E1)].lvlpredatorscript.OnCellLoad() - "LvlPredatorScript.psc" Line 26
  5. How exactly do you debug possible conflicts using TES5Edit? I've been enabling the mods section-by-section until something breaks and to the HQLODs. I've tried both the med res and the hi-res versions, downloaded them again in case they were corrupt, etc. No joy. The game freezes while loading a new game as soon as a HQLOD mod is activated. Both the HQLOD hi-res and med-res meshes break the game. - This is wierd because the meshes apparently do not conflict with anything else.
  6. Thanks for the tip. Now Mod Organizer is just behaving strangely. I've deleted the old mod organizer install, installed it into a new folder, rebooted several times and cannot install anything as MO immediately deletes the mods folder again.
  7. Well, Mod Organizer just deleted all of my mods. Back to square one. At least the overrides folder remained intact.
  8. OK, so how do I find the corrupted esp? - I find it so incredibly frustrating that people can run STEP, Skyrim revisited, etc. yet I haven't been able to get any real combination of mods running stably. The list of mods that cause the black screen is increasing rapidly. Experimenting launching with skse skyrim.esm, update.esm, dawngard.esm and hearthfires.esm and static mesh: I can launch with either dawnguard or hearthfires and smim but enabling both dawnguard and hearthfires with smim causes a black sceen.
  9. CRAP - I have spent days working my way carefully through the guide and I can't get past the loading screen. Right now I'm going through and enabling mod for mod. Thus far wearable lanterns and static mesh improvement kill the game once I try to start a new game. No CTDs just a black screen and processor usage drops to 1 or 0.
  10. In the Guard Dialogue Overhaul fixes, nodes 000D27E7, 000D27E8 and 000E0FA: The "HighElfRaceVampire" condition from the Unofficial Skyrim Patch.esp is an "Equal to" condition and not an "Equal to/Or" condition. As such, does it need to be listed at the end of the ElfRaceVampire conditions in Guard Dialogue Overhaul.esp? In the fix for the Faster Bolts Improved - Explosive Bolts Visialized conflict you list the node 020190D8F. In my case the node was 02010D8F.
  11. I'm with Daagar in this. That saves us combing through the guide so find the latest change. :)
  12. Another note: Following your instructions about installing SKSE only results in "data/scripts" being installed as Mod Organizer only installs files in the data directory. All of the SKSE files for the Skyrim folder (Skse_loader.exe, etc. and the src folder) are not installed. How do I work around this? Or have I missed something? The Guide states: "In the Prerequisites section, SKSE was installed without the required script files" and the Prerequisites section states: "Notice: Do NOT install the script files manually. Follow the instructions in the Create The Skyrim Revisited Profile section." However, there are no explicit instructions about what to install at the prerequisites stage. A wee bit more detail here would reduce confusion and unnecessary ID-10T errors. I have assumed that all of the files except for the scripts are installed manually. (Yeah, it's anal but I work a lot with instruction manuals and guides)
  13. First of all: Thanks Neovalen for the awesome guide. I'm still in the process of setting up SkyRe (been at it for almost a week now, my wife is wondering when I'm actually going to play Skyrim instead of modding the game, breaking it and cursing). One of the best parts about the guide is actually gradually becoming familiar with TES5edit and using the various tools together. While carrying out the fixes described in the guide, I've often seen other red entries which are not addressed. For example: More Interactive Items differing DATA values, so these show up as red. The Better Guard Dialogue mod also contains a number of red entries. Currently, I assume that this is due to the dialogue itself, so I've refrained from messing about the them. However, I've also found one or the other red entry due to XCLR - regions. I generally refrain from messing about with them, because I have no idea what I'm doing. Hopefully I'll have my base version of SkyRe up and running by tomorrow. Then I'll see how long it takes the game to crash. I ran my previous Skyrim STEP install on this system: Processor: i7 3930k @ 3.8 Ghz Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 Deluxe Memory: G.Skill TridentX 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1600 Video Card: Gigabyte 680GTX 2GB Sound Card: ASUS ROG Phoebus Hard Drive: Samsung 830 512GB SSD and it ate all 2 GB VRAM and began irreparable CTD's in the forest just after Helgren. :(
  14. I'm having a wee problem installing SKSE via mod organizer. When clicking on the SKSE archive, mod organizer requests a data directory. Yet selecting the data directory only installs the files in the data directory structure, leaving out the SKSE .exe and other files in the main Skyrim directory. Therefore no .exe is installed to the chosen profile. How do I work around this?PS: Thanks and props to Neovalen for lots of awesome information in this regard. I've learned a lot about mod organizer looking at your guide (I know it's a WIP, but it's and excellent wip, full of useful information)
