Skyrim Revisited Pre-Release Feedback

Is anybody experiencing CTD issues with the latest OBIS 2.0? The first I experienced is the "Smuggler's Den" unmarked location which is the non-interior cave in Whiterun Hold directly behind Dragonsreach. There's a locked chest there that when activated causes bandits to spawn. On my low level hero, it was a CTD everytime until I disabled ASIS-Dependency.esp and ASIS.esp. This was on a fresh new save started with OBIS 2.0. I've since restarted and gone there at a higher level with no crash issue, which was odd. I'm now getting a repeatable CTD outside Mzinchaleft on the higher level save. I've again disabled ASIS plugins and there's no crash. I've re-patched multiple times, double checked my load order and looked over the two plugins and can only see the two perks: "AlchemySkillBoosts" and "PerkSkillBoosts" added. I'm a little confused why modifying those records with the patcher causes the issue. There's some discussion on the file comments at Nexus and the author is investigating the issue. No issues with crashes otherwise. I set ExpandSystemMemoryX64 to false a while back, due to the potential issues with the memory patch, and that completely eradicated all my unexpected random worldspace crashes, which did tend to happen after an hour or so in Skyrim's main worldspace. I never had issues with interior cells or the DLC added regions, so it must've been some conflict on memory space. Any advice on the issue with OBIS/ASIS would be greatly appreciated. For now, I'm probably going to exclude the bandits and see if that fixes it without the need to disable plugins. If that's not an immediate fix, I'll book a holiday for 30 days at a nice quiet interior cell. -Edit- Just did a little more reading on the comments and it might be a certain bandit or bandits that doesn't play well with being able to use more enchants/potions provided by the ASIS perks. I'm going to try narrowing down the usual suspects line-up of bandits since my save is directly next to the CTD. -Edit- It looks like "Bandit Crow" NPCs might be the cause of the issue. Hopefully there's a patch that fixes it for OBIS. If anyone happens to get crashes near OBIS bandits; load the game with the ASIS plugins disabled, go to the area and make note of the refID of the "Crow" named bandit then quit the game. Relaunch with ASIS enabled, use the console to target the bandit and disable the NPC before approaching the cell. This is my current workaround for the issue. -Edit- Alright, so it looks like the vanilla perk PerkSkillBoosts "Skill Boosts" [PERK:000CF788] doesn't play well with the "Bandit Crows" added by OBIS. My overall solution is to edit ASIS.esp after patching to remove those perks from the records (should be 36 NPCs total). I'm curious if anyone else running OBIS/ASIS "NPC Enchant Fix" is having this issue. -

I saw something regarding the HairMaleNord04 and clipping the other day, I thought it was a mod, but it's a "tutorial" according to the description: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/17215/? And here's the STEP thread, thanks to TehKaoZ for posting about the fix: https://forum.step-project.com/topic/4594-hairmalenord04-clipping-fix-tutorial/ As for the other issue, I would guess it's like Defaulteduser mentioned. Your conflict resolution file looks correct. The bashed patch (typically Bashed Patch, 0.esp) is probably causing the issue. You can try using the console to fix the NPC (resurrect might refresh, otherwise disable then enable) his refID should be 000A96A0 (so prid A96A0 should select him) I do remember those individual hoods having odd ARMA flags that might interfere with certain outfits. In my game, he spawned with the Immersive Armors Dwemer Brigand getup and looks very odd and out of place at Dead Man's Drink, guess that kind of suits him. -
Have you tried the CTD fix in the optionals of Audio Overhaul for Skyrim? I had a look at the file in a previous mod loadout, it modifies the chickens in an attempt to remove the constant triggered noise they make when you pass a certain threshold into the Riverwood area, IIRC. Possibly fixes a CTD issue arround the Riverwood area. Load after any AOS related plugins. Don't let NMM think this is a new AOS version. Main AOS installation is still required. The only other thing I can recommend is seeing if there are any corrupt meshes causing the crashes. In older playthroughs with different mods, I had a lot of crashes on the road up from Riverwood past the Guardian Stones; one time it turned out to be an excessively large amount of Wolf Pups (curiously without normal adult or variant wolves) from Skyrim Immersive Creatures on the other side of the river (by Anise's Cabin). That may have been caused by VRAM or one of the older SIC builds (there were a few comments on the mod page about excessive wolves), I've since had no problems with 10 or so wolf packs and a new graphics card with a lot more VRAM. The only other thing to cause issues around Riverwood for me was LOD mods (Skyrim Distant Detail was a #1 culprit at the time) since it made a lot of the surrounding areas persistently visible, so that probably used up all my VRAM (1GB at the time) too. Apart from that, I can only suggest toggling off mods (go with non-ESP plugins first like meshes/textures, then move on to plugins - disable any merged, bashed or patcher plugins first then work back) I still get the occasional CTD when cell transitioning (probably hitting 3.1GB since it's after hours of playing) and my game really doesn't like me reloading save games sometimes (guess it wants it hardcore with no quicksave cheesing). Hope any of this helps. Edited to add: ICS is Improved Combat Sounds.

I'm getting a reproducible crash with a certain mesh (corrupted?) from Vivid Landscapes - All in One - Update for 2048 only. The file in question is: mesheslandscapemountainsmountaincliff03.nif and the location is at the "Bandit Bridge: Pinewatch" in Falkreath. The crash always happens when approaching from the east (from the Hearthfire House, Lakeview Manor or the actual Pinewatch building) and the exact spot it's just past the fallen tree in the center of the road just before going under the actual bridge. I was curious if anyone else has this issue before reporting it to the mod author. I've re-downloading the files and tried the update for the non-2048 (the meshes appear to be the same in both) and the mesh replaces vanilla and has no conflicts with any other mods in SR:LE based on Mod Organizer's information. [Edited to add after testing with a new character, same mods] There appears to be a weird issue involving the rocks from the trap (which were no longer there) and the updated mountain meshes causing a crash. The really strange thing is it never crashed at that spot with any of the save files (with the trap sprung, enemies cleaned up and rocks missing) unless the updated meshes were added. Something must've gone funny in the save file, possibly involving whatever cleans up the rocks from the trap. I decided to revert to an earlier save where the boulders/rocks from the trap are still present and see how it goes. Currently, there are no crashes with the update installed. -

I had a look at your Memory Blocks log and the memory patch values are not being applied, the first block (as shown in the first column) is initially 256MB when it should be 512MB with the changes in SKSE.ini. The second column will always remain 256MB with or without the applied memory settings. First of all, check you have SKSE.ini as opposed to SKSE.ini.txt (check if you have hide known file extensions on in the folder window by Tools > Folder Options > View > "Hide extensions for known file types" or alternatively check your Control Panel for Folder Options which may be located under a "Appearance and Personalization" heading. Secondly, you might need to add -forcesteamloader to the arguments in Mod Organizer or any created shortcut where it launches through MO. I found that without this, it wouldn't properly apply the memory values with Mod Organizer's virtualization involved. To do that, you need to click the gears icon and add the above emboldened text to the arguments option on the SKSE entry under Tools. See below for the STEP page on configuring tools: https://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Mod_Organizer#tab=Third_Party_Programs See if that helps with the map problems and frame-rate loss, it has reliably helped a lot of people with most crash-to-desktops and infinite loading screens. I just tried without the argument and the memory settings apply fine for me. I did move Mod Organizer to a better location a while back, so that might have fixed it. You can still try it out and see if it works for you. Make sure you check SKSE.ini is there and not SKSE.ini.txt before in case it was a minor problem like that. -
I did a comparison earlier and noticed a few different things: 00064B36 FoodCheeseWheel02B You also copied the DATA - Value from Complete Crafting Overhaul_Remade.esp. 00075046 FarmInnDestroyed01Snow This was missing from the file as well as the Better Dynamic Snow.esp master in the header. Is this conflict resolution still needed? Block 4 > Sub-Block 8 > 07021074 DLC2HrodulfsHouse This record was missing from the file but it's still in the guide. I think it needs an update since ELE DB- Interior Lighting.esp also modifies the base record. What I've done for now is: Conflict Resolution: Use record from ELE DB- Interior Lighting.esp then move the FULL - Name record from Unofficial Dragonborn Patch.esp. Most of the other problems I had were old records which had been made redundant in my copy (removed those) and I had forgot to copy a few Water Height values on the Dragonborn records, since I mainly copy the base records from the Bethesda ESMs since the simple formID finder in TES5Edit makes it a lot easier to find records with copy/paste. Thank you for uploading your copy so I could double check everything and for your guide in general.
