I came to comment not a solution sadly but out of solidarity. Mine did the same, just suddenly stopped working and started pulling this error. I was in the Point Lookout DLC, not sure if that was the same case for you. I've also been looking for a solution to this. Someone posted this issue last year on the Aetherius discord support channel but without solution, and I have frantically Googled for days. I think I'm going to back up my save data and do a complete uninstall/reinstall and will report back. Then I guess just play til it happens again...
