Walls in Helgen Keep acting up
LynziRaeighn replied to LynziRaeighn's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Found a post on another forum suggesting that it was how the graphics card was handling antialiasing. Went to the settings on the graphics card and changed from Adaptive multisampling to just multisampling and now it seems to be fixed. -

There were hardly any mods installed at the time and I didn't have the moss rocks one. I'm not sure it's a VRAM issue, having looked up what that is, but I'm not an expert either. I'll see how it goes for now since I decided to start over anyway. Maybe it had something to do with the .ini tweaks. -

What's artifacting? Would that be sorted out by turning the PC off for a while? I can't express how much of a noob I am. xD You have to sort of pretend you're talking to a foreign toddler when telling me anything like this. D: -
Walls in Helgen Keep acting up
LynziRaeighn replied to LynziRaeighn's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Everything was an almighty mess anyway. Or at least, that's how I perceived it. I'll see how it goes when Skyrim is installed again. Then I'm going to go extra slow. I had the distant decal fix installed and that didn't help. It's really hard for me to explain the issue. I don't know all the terms. Basically when turning my camera or walking up close to the walls in Helgen the moss on them goes all whacky. It flickers and sometimes covers the whole wall then goes back to what it should look like and then flickers weird again. It's very distracting. -

I can't work out if this person is talking about the same problem: https://forum.step-project.com/showthread.php?tid=981&highlight=helgen edit: i'm just uninstalling everything because i obviously did something wrong. -
If I click default graphic settings it says I can use 'High' but unless I put it down to the lowest possible, the walls in Helgen flicker and the moss on them flashes and such. I really don't think it's any of the mods I've put on so far. It was doing it when the yngol barrow button, appropriately dressed jarls, and argonian decapitation ones were installed but my flat mate didn't check if it was doing it in vanilla. Could it be one of the ini tweaks that did it? I put most of them on except for the one that said it could cause clipping. I'm assuming what is happening to the walls in Helgen is clipping, not z-fighting? i guess I should go remind myself what z-fighting is but any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. It was z-fighting. Fixed it now. edit 2: ...or not? It worked and now it doesn't again. edit 3: Hmm, so how I fixed it originally was by adding in the ini tweak I missed out. I went back to check (having added the interface key tweak mod between times) and those particular lines had reverted back to original. Unless it's because I messed with the graphics setting. AGH. It wasn't fixed in the first place, I don't think, I must have been tripping. I have no idea what's going on.

Hmm, the next mod seemed to be doing the same thing but once I installed it it showed up on the mod list. But the Argonian one still isn't showing up there? -

No matter what I do I can't get it to work. I skipped the ancient nord fix because I don't care about it and now the argonian decapitation one is doing this. it says these are missing: meshes\actors\character\character assets\maleheadargonian.nif meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00013284.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001328D.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00013373.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001360A.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001403E.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001412E.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001412F.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00014130.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001B072.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0001C3AA.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00020040.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0002E447.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000457FE.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0004C735.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00055A1C.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00055B40.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\0006CD5B.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000BBDA0.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C1A9F.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C3C9F.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C3CA1.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C3CA3.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C3CA5.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C3CA7.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000C3CA9.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000D5046.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\000E9DAB.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00103512.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00105552.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00105554.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00105561.NIF meshes\actors\character\facegendata\FaceGeom\Skyrim.esm\00106118.NIF I tried the anneal all, I tried restarting wrye bash, i've redownloaded the file a few times already, I packed to archive... -

I managed to get the Appropriately Attired Jarls mod in so I'm extra confused as to what I'm doing wrong. -
I'm getting turned around in the Wrye Bash guide
LynziRaeighn posted a question in Wrye Bash Support
I've moved the unzipped folder for the Ancient Nord armour fix into the Wrye Bash installer window but now it has a diamond coloured in red which seems to mean: "Some or all of the files in the package are not installed as configured." I'm confused. Did I do something wrong? I'm trying to read the guide and I read the glossary for the acronyms but I'm still confused. My flatmate has already given up and I doubt I'm getting any more help from him. Actually, I had to do everything myself because he didn't read the tool's guides properly. == Overview Type: Project Structure: Simple Size: 60 KB Modified: 05/12/2011 23:40:56 Data CRC: E600D33A Files: 1 Configured: 1 (60 KB) Matched: 0 Missing: 1 Conflicts: 0 == Configured Files meshes\armor\draugr\1stpersondraugrarmormale_0.nif -
I'm going to be adding mods a couple at a time to make sure I don't run into problems but I was wondering if anyone knows how the following mods mesh with STEP and each other. These are the only other mods I want to get. If anyone would advise against any of these then please let me know and offer an alternative if you can. If I work out as much as possible before my flatmate and my boyfriend start modding the game for me then I can be sure it will be as smooth as possible for them. Moderator Edit: Added the spoiler tags.

That's exactly why I got confused.

Grand, looks like I've got all those programs sorted out now. Thanks again for the help.
-
I'll stick to Wrye Bash then. So, apart from Wrye Bash and SKSE, am I likely to need any of the other programs? I've tried reading as much as I can find on the guide and I've looked at the mod descriptions themselves but there's a lot of it I really don't understand yet. It's like staring at a sea of numbers to me, and I seem mildly dyscalculic so... yeah. Side note: that's me put on SKSE now, hurray.

I downloaded Wrye Bash already, I thought Mod Organiser was a supplement? Do I only need one? To be absolutely honest, all these programs are confusing me. Maybe I'm not cut out for mods. Thanks for explaining it, Farlo. I'll try again later when I'm not so grouchy.

BOSS v2.1.1 Archive.7z BOSS v2.1.1 Archive   BOSS v2.1.1 Installer.exe BOSS v2.1.1 Installer  ^which do I download? Do I download both? What do I do with the archive? Script extender and the Mod organiser's update: How do I install these? I'm so confused and getting angry. At first they told me I needed a PDF reader, but none of the PDF readers I downloaded could open them. Now it seems 7zip opens them but I have no idea what to do from there.Â

I joined way back in the middle of last year, having not anticipated quite how long it would take to save up for this PC. Now I've got it and I'll be installing both Skyrim and S.T.E.P. soon. TEH EXCITEMENTS. You can call me Lynzi or Tequila.
