  1. Any update on either the AHC program or the xml for STEP? Â I'd be happy to work on helping finish the .xml file if the current progress was made available. Â Or if there was a specific section of the program to work on I'd take a crack at it. Â I'm guessing the next version of STEP will be out relatively soon, but even so...
  2. I went and got the latest version, but it didn't seem to load anything when I "Loaded" any of the STEP xml files found at the bottom of the "Old Versions" section. I d/l'd the .NET framework in case I didn't have the latest version and will update this post after Windows Update finishes updating it. Is there a particular version that the STEP xml files work on? I'll post a copy of the error log if I can't get it worked out on my own by tomorrow night. The interface looks pretty straightforward, though you may want to have a msgbox show up before actually starting the processing, since it currently looks like a menu dropdown, not a command button. Edit: It was a version compatibility issue. Sorry if I got anybody worried or excited. Once I copied one of the sections from the "Full STEP" xml file into the "Instructions Template" section it worked like a charm. The XML does look easy as pie, and I'd be happy to help get the STEP xml files updated to the current version of the AHC xml using the latest version of the STEP guide (even if it's for selfish reasons). I'm still totally green with WB though, so if a working knowledge of it's intricacies is needed I'll continue the beta testing phase. And now I"m off to remind myself why I want to work on this in the first place ;^D Whingknutt
  3. I'm pretty handy with VBA, but have't done anything plain VB. I'll check things out over on SF tomorrow. Anything else I should be familiar with?
  4. We'll need testers for the next beta release. Probably this weekend. Which weekend? I wouldn't be able to try it out tonight (Sunday) but could probably have feedback by 3am EST on the 11th or 12th. Just point me at the template.
  5. Is there any assistance needed for this?
  6. MSI's Afterburner has a tool called RivaTuner which is easily the best solution for AMD/ATI. If it's a pre-HD2xxx card you can skip Afterburner and just use an old standalone rivatuner build. The biggest advantage to both of these tools is that it completely avoids running in the "Driver Test Mode" which opens your system up to a far wider array of malware, virii and other attacks. Not that your AV won't block them, it just may have to work harder. Anyway, to configure afterburner/rivatuner to limit the framerate: When afterburner is running it will add 2 icons to your system tray, one of which is the On Screen Display Server Open the OSD server (or the rivatuner configuration tool if using rivatuner as a standalone) Click on the wrench in the upper right corner to get into the Setup options The initial window should be the "General" tab. If you are running a post-process injector (ENB, RCRN) check the box for "Enable compatibility with modified Direct3d libraries" Set the desired max framerate in the "Frame Rate Limit" box. 0 = unlimited, btw Click OK, then MINIMIZE the tool. Closing it will actually terminate the program. I think Afterburner will restart it, but you'll have to check the systray to make sure. I believe this will work even if you aren't using Afterburner's OSD function, but if it doesn't you can configure Afterburner to run the OSD without actually displaying anything. Good Luck, Whingknutt
