Vertical lines on snow, any clue?
MallaVelve replied to Southman's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Semi old thread but fits for my issue, Â Just installed 2.2.8 Extended, (Incredible improvement over 2.2.7 by the way gentlemen, thank-you), Double checked ENBoost (ENBoost turned on, Graphic modification disabled) & .ini (Skyrim.ini & skyrimPerfs.ini & enblocal.ini) edit requirements per STEP guide, Â However now I have shadow striping on snow that I did not have with 2.2.7. Â As I said, I followed the guide, and double checked to make sure everything was as written before posting. Â Is a driver rollback needed? Â Current Driver 334.89 2/18/2014. Â I have not tried it yet because its 5 months and 8 updates in the past. EDIT: Re-installed 334.89, keeping graphics settings and issue resolved it's self.. not sure why. -
Well, I think I did something wrong because I have run into no problems. Other than the fact that the 1st Dragon at Whiterun Watchtower handed me my entrails. Thanks for the help! I am very much enjoying Requiem so far. Its a whole new game.

Yeah, I got how to create the overides. I just did not know about having to physically move the esp in the left pane to the correct position. I assumed the program to be smart enough to figure out that if I told it to put it after xmod.esp it would do so. NOT! So live and learn. I had created another patch rule for (Insert name here-Mod) and so had no reason to look into it further. I tend to explore till I run into an obstical then look for help. In this case I did not know where to turn. So I took the easy path and asked you. phazer11 posted; "You should have tried the instructions in Neovalen's guide.", just prior to your post. So I assume SR:LE stands for Skyrim Revisited:{Insert some name here}. I will browse the googled page for more information and try to find a link to LE. As well as buffing my general modding knowledge. Thank you for your guidence and lengthy explinations. I totaly do not feel I missed anything from them. You advise putting Requiem even lower than it sits as BUM/Boss sorted it. How would I go about that? Other than starting with Requiem.esp / Overide / after / Xmod? Then Requiem - Resources.esp / Overide / after / Requiem.esp ({[ And so on, and so on]}) I may find the answer on the SR page I have now linked but thought I would ask just to get a second opinion. Thanks again.

Ok I will get rid of BYOG, and yes, the Bash Patch will be active but I have not even tried to play yet, It too me 2 hrs to figure out how to use BUM to make the exception rules. I followed your post to the letter yet still it would not work. I finally figured out I had to not only tell BUM what the rule was but also physically move the esp I was making the rule for into the right position. As far as the EBQO - REQ Patch, The only patches are listed under OLD. You recomend I use one of those? And if so which one? Or is there somewhere else to get it?
-
I am giving Requiem a try with Step since you posted the wonderful wiki. Â However, I have run into a problem. Dual Sheath Redux Patch does not like the order that Bum has sorted. It tells me Requiem - Hearthfire.esp is missing its master Requiem.

Please help, Random CTDs and Load screen freezes
MallaVelve replied to MallaVelve's question in General Skyrim LE Support
First off let me apologize for being such a NOOB! Again! Now, I have spent the last week Installing a new OS Win Vista x64. (I know) Then Upgrading it to Win 8 Pro x64. Also fighting to remove the old x32 OS from my other hard drive so I could use it for Games/Skyrim only. It took a couple days to do this and get my basic programs back and new drivers and all that, but It is running smooth and looks pretty. New Stats Processor:                     Intel® Core™ i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30GHz Vidio Card:                    GeForce GTX 650 Ti 941MHz 2Gb GDDR5 Installed Memory (RAM):  16.0 GB (15.97 GB usable) System Type:         x64-based system Monitor Native Res:        1920 x 1200, 59Hz Windows OS:                 Windows 8 Pro x64  {Running Skyrim under; Windows 8 Pro} Game Version:                Skyrim 1.9.32.0 SKSE Version:                0.1.6.16 Skyrim install location:     D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Mod Organizer Version:    1.0.7 Executables:          BOSS v2.1.1.0, Wrye Bash 304, TesVEdit, SkyProc Dual Sheath Redux,                     GenerateFNISforUsers, Optimizer Textures Game Settings:        Actor, Item, Object Fade [15], Texture Quality High, Specularity 20,                       Shadow Detail Med, Object Detail Fade off, Reflect all, Light Fade 35,                      Grass Fade 7, Distant Object Detail Ultra, Full Screen, FXAA On, Anti-                      Aliasing Off, Anisotropic Filtering 16, Decal Quality Ultra. I then went back to STEP 2.2.7 and re-downloaded everything. Re-installed everything. Baseline. Not just Core but all the list. EXCEPTIONS: Not Added Unofficial Dragonborn Patch - (No Dragonborn) Wet & Cold - Ashes - (No Dragonborn) HRDLC Optimized - (Greater than 1.5GB Do not download this mod, just use the full HRDLC.) Burn Freeze & Shock Effects - (Warning) Enhanced Blood - (Warning) Candle Lanterns - (Papyrus Bloat) The Choice is yours - (Conflicts) SRO + Dawnguard Optimized 1024x - (forgot to transfer it over when I Installed the new OS) [i'll get it later] Elven Weapons for Silence - (If using the STEP recommended options for Book of Silence which installs the Gold Eleven Armor, then his mod can be skipped entirely.) ADDED Alternate Start - (Quicker start to work out bugs) Amazing Follower Tweaks - (A must have in my opinion) Isilmeriiel's Weapon pack - (Extra weapons) Ethereal Elven Overhaul - (Better looking elves) Some armor, hair, skin, face mods. Even Better Sorting Book Covers Skyrim (Desaturated) Categorized Favorites Menu Immersive Animations Better Vampires Not Baseline aMidianborn Caves - 2048x SMIM - Half Textures Then I loaded my save at Riverwood Smithy and sprinted, not ran, to the wolves, killed them, paused at the waterfall bend to save my game, sprinted off the cliff towards the giant to kill him, then sprinted to Whiterun. Entered Whiterun, grabbed Balgruffs sword and sprinted to the castle, sprinted to the throne and after the first short conversation stopped recording fraps and GPUz. Average FPS 56 NO CTD's!!!!!!!!, Barely a stutter. I am speechless. I only optimized 2 & 3 Hi-Res DLC's.bsa and Skyrim - Textures.bsa I haven’t even touched the Textures of the other mods. I also figured out why I was CTD'ing no matter what I tried to do. (You guessed it) The common factor was me. In all my 5-6 attempts with my x32 OS to get some semblance of stability with a combination of STEP I made one fatal error. At some point in optimizing textures I had forgot to set skyrim and\or maximum in Optimizer Textures. This messed up the texture files and not only that I used it on water textures and animation and sound..... Well, I learned my lesson. Read, read, read. And if in doubt, read again. Unfortunately a lot of good tips and practices are buried in mountains of text. At some point I may gather these tid-bits and make a Cliff-Notes page for noobs like me. Things to remember, things not to do! Anyway, thank-you, for your patients, advice and help along this frustrating (but enlightening) road. -
Inquiry about the Download Progress Bar in MO. Â When I download files there appears to be a bar blocking the green progress bar up to the 57% point. Â I can actively move the mouse pointer over the Progress Bar to update the Green till it passes the 57% point. Â Unless I look at the % DL'ed It looks like the download has stalled. Â Is this possibly something on my end or is there some sort of design flaw?
-
That leaves me with one more question however, where to place Dawnguard mod and Skyrim mod in the MO/STEP:CORE lineup? Above unoficial patches perhaps?  Skyrim then Dawnguard?

Skyrim -Community- Uncapper may be hacked
MallaVelve replied to lanbladez's question in Forum Support
Over the last 10 hrs or so I have Downloaded and installed all of STEP:CORE (for the 4th time) and ran a virus scan on my Skyrim folder because of this post. BitDefender Total Security 2013 found no viruses. I downloaded 98% through MO choosing whatever public mirrors it wanted, and the other 2% manual usually through Salt lake 1-4 or Seatle. EDIT: SKSE-Uncapper downloaded at 9:41pm PST. -
Ok thanks, I will do that, I was just thinking of keeping the Skyrim folder as the base, MO profiles as the STEP:CORE, STEP:CORE +.Â
-
So take the BSA's out of Skyrim/Data and .7z them to drop into MO, let mo unpack and organize them into folders, then remove folders from MO and drop into Skyrim/Data?

STEP CORE - No HR-DLC's, install question
MallaVelve replied to MallaVelve's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well then there is no harm inn keeping them installed. I can use Optimizer Textures to reduce the Texture size to 1-2k if needed. The HDDLC wont allow me to use it because of the 3.48 useable memory of my OS. Processor: Intel Core i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz 3.30GHz RAM: 16.0 GB (3.48 GB useable) System type: 32-bit OS, x64-based Processor Vidio Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti GDDR5 2GB Thanks for the reply. Edit: Wait a minute, can I use Optimixer Textures on the HDDLC to squash it to 1-2k and then use it? I had not thought about trying it. -
I am unsure where to post this, but this seams like a likely spot. I ran Optimizer Textures on my Vanilla Skyrim Data Folder, and in the logs I tracked down and copied these errors: DAWNGUARD.BSA: textures\terrain\dlc01soulcairn\dlc01soulcairn.8.-20.37_n.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill DAWNGUARD.BSA: textures\terrain\dlc01soulcairn\dlc01soulcairn.4.24.-47_n.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA: textures\clutter\blackreachmushroom02_g.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA: textures\terrain\sovngarde\sovngarde.4.12.0.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA: textures\terrain\tamriel\tamriel.4.68.-84_n.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA: textures\terrain\tamriel\tamriel.4.-44.40.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill SKYRIM - TEXTURES.BSA: textures\terrain\deepwoodredoubtworld\deepwoodredoubtworld.4.-3.7.dds ... Error: Direct3D device faill Now I was able to track down good versions of these files but I have no idea how to get them into their respective .BSA's. Suggestions?

Without having the 3 HR-DLC's, Do I still install the Unofficial High Resolution Patch and Unofficial High Resolution Compatable Patch from Bethesda HR-DLC Optimized Full 1024?

MallaVelve replied to MallaVelve's question in General Skyrim LE Support
After I remove files , or turn them off I start a new game, I am on game 23 now and so far it si going well but a bit too early to call it good. Â I have had a couple ctd's (Yorvasker main door, Bannered Mare Side door), and a Infinite load screen (Bannered mare main door). Â But have had several hrs. as in at least 2 without issue but still tweeking. Â Everything got much better after I used Optimizer Textures on the whole 254 mods that are still installed, actualy I used it on the entire mod file in Mod Manager so the number is quite higher (Not installed number, that is 254 ATM) since I have been trying different mods to stabalize my game. I gained 1Gb'ish space (recuced everything >2024).
