Potential minor bug in the most recent DyndoLod Resources: the mesh "lod\riften\blackbriarchaletglow_lod_0.nif" has a broken texture path in the BSShaderTextureSet. Texture 4 is set as "textures\ textures\". (That space appears to be a newline character?) Same thing in "lod\riften\goldenglowestate01glow_lod_1.nif", lod\riften\rtbeebarb01glow_lod_0.nif, rtblackbriarmanor01glow_lod_0.nif, probably most of the other glow_lod ones in that folder. I think that should just be empty, since there's no texture there. Doubt it does anything in game, but it does cause tools like Sniff to error out when they try to scan the mesh.

Question, after running texgen for my tree meshes, the resulting textures, are, to quote the Sniff log, "Not a power of 2." textures\terrain\lodgen\dv02hotm.esm\dv02treepineforest04_0036ed36_2_n.dds Texture size 76x256 is not power of 2 textures\terrain\lodgen\dv02hotm.esm\dv02treepineforest05_0036ed37.dds Texture size 80x256 is not power of 2 textures\terrain\lodgen\dv02hotm.esm\dv02treepineforest05_0036ed37_1.dds Texture size 76x256 is not power of 2 textures\terrain\lodgen\dv02hotm.esm\dv02treepineforest05_0036ed37_1_n.dds Texture size 76x256 is not power of 2 Etc. Is this an issue? I've attached my tree meshes, most of the generated textures, and the TexGen logs. Using the latest version of TexGen. trees.7z Generated Textures.7z Logs.7z

Ok, fixed the trees, thank you for your time! Question, is there anything we can do when making a new worldspace to have it be DyndoLod-ready? Files we can generate for the dyndolod resources mod?
-
Oh, of course. Thanks, we'll fix that.
-
It seemed to work with the release, yeah
-
Different issue, I had TexGen (that new one you made above - no crashes!) generate textures for five modified trees I have. For three of them it generated as expected, for two of them it said "False" in the tree billboards txt file it generated and made no textures. Any idea why? I've attached all five of the modified trees in question (02 and 05 are the ones it did not generate for) as well as the logs. treepineforest05.nif treepineforest02.nif TexGen_SSE_log.txt TexGen_SSE_Debug_log.7z TexGen_SSE_Tree_Billboards.txt treepineforest01.nif treepineforest03.nif treepineforest04.nif

No errors encountered using that test version! I'll run it a few more times just to be sure.

Got a crash with TexGen with "<Warning: Error reading texture textures\architecture\highhrothgar\hhwin02_g.dds>". I have nothing overwriting that texture or any edited meshes. Log, debug log, and bugreport.txt attached. It's been quite a while since I've done lodgen/texgen so hopefully I didn't mess anything up here. Right, Microsoft declared those EoL…and 10 will be EoL too soon, kinda scary. I tested and you can have both 6 and 8 installed at the same time so it shouldn’t be an issue for now.
-
Unimportant, but are there any plans to swap from .Net 6 to .Net 8 in a future version?
-
No idea where it's from though. reachtree02_lod_2.nif
-
...yep, that was it. Wherever that tree came from, it was apparently broken. Sorry for wasting your time with this, but I appreciate the more detailed logging that helped me find it. Log of the successful run attached. LODGen_SSE_arnimaDUPLICATE003_log.txt DynDOLOD_SSE_log.txt

Both ran without error.

Using the same lodgenx64win as last time, right?

OK, downgraded from .Net 8.0.1 to .Net 6.0.26, testing now.

Repeatable crash in alpha 165, no bugreport.txt is generated. Always happens in the same worldspace, but running "check for errors" on the affected mod in xEdit 4.1.5b finds no errors. The mod had previously been run through xLodGen (latest beta, 106) for Terrain LoD, height map, and occlusion generation. No errors were present in the xLodGen log. I think this actually IS a bug in the mod, not DyndoLod, but I'm not sure how to identify/fix the problem. I'm working with the developer of the mod so if this is fixable on the mod's end I'd like to. (note, the mod version being worked on is not yet public, but I can DM it to you if needed) Logs attached. OK, did it again with a fresh attempt and it worked, so no clue what happened last time.
-
Odd issue: The entirety of the LOD generation worked perfectly, but then when it came time to actually zip and save it, it crashed. Bugreport and log attached. Debug log was 10mb, I'm going to delete that and redo DyndoLod to get fresh logs. bugreport.txt DynDOLOD_SSE_log.txt

Worked perfectly.

Seems to work, running now.
