  1. Okay. Maybe it's still a good idea to put that information in the SR:LE guide as well, since it may confuse people as to why they have an empty file loaded.
  2. Does CharGen Morphs.esp need to be deleted? According to ModOrganizer it's only a dummy file. (And if you can delete it, maybe you should add that to the guide as well)
  3. There was a mesh error in the VL Moss Rocks patch the author fixed that was causing ctd. Try redownloading. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk Thanks, it works now. Another question though: Improved Eyes Skyrim is used in the guide but it's not available on the Nexus site anymore. Is this since recently or has this been the case for a while now? And if so, does anyone have a valid download?
  4. I have an interesting finding which I'd like to report here. I do use the SR:LE guide but I use it with my own tweaks: I'm not using Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, Climates of Tamriel (plus patches) and Enhanced Lighting and FX. I am using Opethfeldt 7 beta 3 ENB instead (with his ENB ini settings). I have modded up to the mod Webs Extended. Once I walk around (in Riverwood) with the modded Skyrim, I tend to get a CTD when I walk towards and look up to Hilde (the grandma) when she's on her tanning rack. But this only seems to happen when I have Vivid Landscapes - All in One installed with Moss Rocks compatibility patch. If I install Vivid Landscapes without the Moss Rocks compatibility patch, the CTD does not occur. I found this pretty strange since it's basically just a texture based mod.

  6. Ah great, it works! Anyway, I still need some feedback on the rules I made since they're slightly different from the rules Neovalen put in his guide: SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills - Total edition NO Falskaar.espSkyFalls Dragonborn Small waterfalls.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.espOriginal rules by Neovalen: SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills Total edition.espSkyFalls DB + FS Small Waterfalls.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.espI've done this instead since I use no Falskaar and Wyrmstooth.
  7. Hey guys, I'm currently following SR:LE with my own tweaks (no Falskaar, no Wyrmstooth and another ENB that requires no CoT and ELFX). However, I'm now at the SkyFalls and SkyMills section where I have to use BUM. First rule: You said:Â SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB + FS + WT.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills Total edition.esp But I have done this instead since I use no FS/WT:Â Sort SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.esp AFTER SkyFalls + SkyMills - Total edition NO Falskaar.esp Second rule: When I try to implement the second rule BUM doesn't allow me. It gives me the following "error": Rule:Â SkyFalls Dragonborn Small waterfalls.esp AFTERÂ SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.esp Rule status: Invalid Sort Object (SkyFalls + SkyMills + DG + DB.eps) is defined in the Userlist, but this rule needs to be removed after it Any comments, suggestions, solutions? (Also on the first rule since I changed it a bit from what is said, expecting this should have been done when no expansion has been installed)
  8. Why is Better Dialogue Controls part of the guide while Better MessageBox Controls isn't? Are the message box controls fixed in one of the (un)official patches already? Edit: I notice that Better MessageBox Controls is listed as Redundant. I still wonder what has fixed this issue though.
  9. Can I ask why Ruins Clutter Improved is not in SR:LE?
  10. I really like Opethfeldt, it's super atmospheric. However, it's not compatible with CoT + ELFX though.
  11. I have a quick question about the contents section of the guide, not so much about the guide itself. Anyway, is it possible to make the sections within the contents collapsible? Instead of hiding the contents section a whole, would it be possible to create show/hide sections for the various chapters/subsections separately? It would make searching stuff a bit easier, for me at least. :)
  12. It's somewhere on the first page as well but here it is again: CPU: i7-2600k @ 3.40 GHz RAM: 8 GB Resolution: 1080p GPU: MSI GTX780 3GB Gaming (Soon to be!) One monitor. Thus far I'm talking about Neovalen's current SR:LE guide.
  13. Okay so it has been a while that I started thinking about this and I think I made my final decision. I'm going to get the MSI GTX780 which I can get for €437,- I think this is pretty decent as I am getting Assassin's Creed 4 for free (they got rid of the other 2 games sadly) and maybe even sell my older one. I do not only want to boost Skyrim, I'm certainly aiming for some future games as well. And as for Skyrim, I really, really want to play with some really nice ENBs and maybe other mods that come with nice visual effects (as long as it remains realistic, so no over the top fantasy stuff). So yeah, probably going to be heavy on the extra effects. I'm just wondering though, if I'd get the GTX780, what textures size would I generally look for? I used to pick 1k textures all the time but I assume that I can get much better with the 780. Have any of you tested this?
  14. Ah thanks for the advice. I am aiming for future games as well of course. The two closest ones are Watch Dogs and the newest Thief. As for VRAM, I wasn't worried too much since I was aiming for at least 3GB anyway. Both 770 and 780 apply here since they have (the MSI version of 770), 4GB and 3GB respectively. Plus they both come with the nice deal of getting Assassin's Creed 4, Splinter Cell Blacklist and Batman: Arkham Origins for free. However, the 780 has about 800 more cores than the 770 one, making it a lot faster. I don't know much about GPUs though but now we've only discussed the VRAM of the cards. So what exactly does the amount of cores (or GPU speed) do to Skyrim? Isn't it the cores and speed of the card that ENBs rely on? Sidenote: Every time I see a GPU discussion on Skyrim stuff, everybody only seems to be mentioning the VRAM. Nobody ever talks about the processing power/speed of the card. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a really strong processing power? Isn't that what the fps is mostly dependent on?
  15. Oh sorry yeah. I didn't list those because I assumed these were already good enough but here they are anyway. CPU: i7-2600k @ 3.40 GHz RAM: 8 GB Resolution: 1920*1080
  16. Hello everyone, I bough Skyrim Legendary edition last summer but I have not played it at all. I really want to use one of the Skyrim Revisited guides. However, I currently have a GTX 570 1280MB card and I would like to update it. At the moment I was thinking about the GTX 770 4GB (which seems to be slightly better than Neovalen's card). Is there anyone here with a similar card that can confirm whether the fps would be stable if I were to use Neovalen's guides? Or does anyone advice a better card? I have been thinking of getting the GTX 780 3GB but it's quite expensive and maybe a little bit overkill. What do you guys think? P.s: I really want to be able to play with a stable fps of minimally 30 (average 40+), using heavy enb mods and 1k/2k textures.
  17. This is also exactly what I had in mind. Some simple lines like this makes it very clear. And I am assuming it's not a lot of work to add these lines. And if done correctly, you only have to add them once and they should apply to the rest of the whole guide as well.
  18. Exactly what Moragg said. Of course it is clear to me now that you have to check both the original mod and the optimized version of it. But to some people it may be completely confusing to what to check and what not to check here. And it will just take like one or two lines to say something like the way it should look like in Mod Organizer so it makes everything a little bit more clear to some people. I am not sure if this is already suggested but another thing I would like to see in the guide is an entire new section at the end of the guide, which is a 100% optional section and explains everything on how to install something like SkyRe and all its necessary mods and suggested mods. With all the changes you have to make to get all this compatible with the rest of the guide. I know that there is a forum post here somewhere that explains this but it would be really awesome to see this whole guide here added to the actual guide as an optional final section for those who want it. I know it would be a lot of extra work to make it fit to the rest of the guide but I think it would be awesome to have a section like that.
  19. Ah, thanks. I was wondering if you had to check both of them. I felt that this information was a little bit short in the guide. And of course I am using both the Legendary Edition and the Original edition right next to each other when Im doing this so I can use the normal one whenever in doubt.
  20. Even though the DDSopt processes are very well explained during the first steps, the process for the actual mods was a little bit vague to me. The only thing you could add here is to tell that you would have to install both the mod, and the optimized package of the mod. For some people this may be trivial, but to others it may not be. At first I thought you would only have to download the mod, do the DDSopt process and install only that package instead of the mod itself too. But then I figured that you wouldn't have all the necessary files but only the optimized textures and normal maps. Either way, it's just one line you have to add to your whole guide. It isn't much and it may make things a little bit more clear to what's actually going on.
  21. Hello guys, I just made an account here for the sole purpose of asking this question. (And for thanking you guys for all the work you put into this) I am using Neovalen's guide to mod my Skyrim and I am following it to every single detail. So far I've worked my way up 'til the start of the actual modding. I have done all the first steps exactly as they were told and I must say that everything is explained in very good understanding English and with much detail. So thanks a lot for that! I use a mixture of both the original Skyrim Revisisted guide and the Legendary Edition guide. Right at the first mod I encounter my first problem: According to the Legendary Edition guide we have to install our first mod: Falskaar. I know how to install mods with Mod Organizer and even the DDSopt steps for the Bethesda Textures were very clear to me. However, according to the guide I have to perform a DDSopt process on the mod. Now I want to ask this question just to be sure because that has been the only thing that wasn't entirely clear to me: Do I first install the mod normally and then do the DDSopt process. Which in return creates a "new" mod called Optimized for example? And then make sure that the Optimized version of the mod is installed right after the original mod? I am guessing that that's the way to do it. But I just want to make sure before I do anything. Big Thanks! And besides this question I want to thank everyone who is working on putting all those guides together for us. They are very clear and I am sure that they help many people a lot! I really appreciate all the work that has been put into this and you guys sure deserve a lot of credit for doing this. Without you guys, I would be nowhere regarding modding my Skyrim, considering I am a little bit suffering from OCD. xD
