- HQ vanilla-friendly replacement Techangel85 (talk) 01:18, June 11, 2013 (MDT)
- I am making an exec decision on this one. Kryptopyr is quite correct below. There is simply no good reason to tax performance on this sort of an effect. I think enhancing the resolution is unnecessary. If anyone adamantly disagrees, please state so (but I think that Farlo and s4n would be with me on this, so my vote theoretically counts for three in this cas :P ) ~z929669 Talk 15:45, June 22, 2013 (MDT)

- This is not a clear improvement. The lower-res vanilla texture ends up being more subtle, which isn't really a bad thing for an enchantment effect. The Daedric letters are a departure from vanilla. Kryptopyr (talk) 07:32, June 26, 2013 (MDT)

- Will conflict with certain lighting/weather mods without a patch so it should be in the pack. Techangel85 (talk) 21:18, June 7, 2013 (MDT)

- This mod claims that the effects are also affected by mods such as Enchantment Effect Replacer, so no inconsistencies even if we use that mod. Regardless of whether we use Enchantment Effect Replacer, I feel this is a definite fix and makes the Dawnguard weapons consistent with other vanilla weapon enchantment effects. - Not a fix, just an animation change. Other mods exist that do the same as this mod which would conflict. Techangel85 (talk) 01:49, June 11, 2013 (MDT)
- Kryptopyr (talk) 21:52, June 15, 2013 (MDT)
- Perhaps not strictly a fix, but a definite improvement over the vanilla animation that stays true to the vanilla style. I'm not sure how this is any different than Bowlegged Jump Fix. Any conflicts with mods added by packs would result in the animation simply being overwritten. Or the pack can direct the user to uninstall this mod to prevent incompatibilities. Kelmych (talk) 20:44, June 22, 2013 (MDT)
- This is a 'correction'. We want to avoid downstream conflicts, but only when those conflicts are complex (i.e., secondary effects). This is a "primary-effect" resource conflict (i.e., as krypt notes, it is a direct vanilla replacer that can itself be directly replaced), so it will not conflict in any secondary way with downstream mods, AFAIK. ~z929669 Talk 10:55, June 23, 2013 (MDT)

- Since this decreases resolution that may be noticeable in some cases, it counters what we are doing elsewhere with graphical enhancement. Therefore, I see this as optional for mid-lower-end systems. STEP:Core, by definition, is not 'optional', so this should go into a "Performance Pack", IMO. ~z929669 Talk 10:55, June 23, 2013 (MDT)

- (yes to No Lens Flare version only). I think the lens flare is too cinematic and rather immersion-breaking (the player is not supposed to be looking at the sun through a lens). I do think the "no lens flare" version is an improvement over vanilla. Kryptopyr (talk) 17:41, June 10, 2013 (MDT)
