STEP Extended: weapon position issue

Question

Posted

Hello everyone!

First, I want to thank everyone working on the STEP project: the thing is huge, yet nearly all of it is explained very clearly.

I have some basic experience in skyrim modding, and I live by Mod Organizer. However, a few things here were new for me, and I probably messed up a minor thing.

I followed instructions to install STEP extended, and everything seems to work fine (maybe I'll uncover more stuff later), except the weapon position and related animations.

What happens is this:

  • If I equip anything but a dagger in my right hand, everything is fine.
  • If I equip a dagger in the right hand and try to sheathe it, the animation puts it at my character's back hip. However, once sheathed, the dagger actually rests on my character's left hip.
  • If I equip any weapon in the left hand, when I sheathe it, there is no animation and the weapon rests on my character's right hip.

I re-installed the skeleton, double-checking to make sure I selected all the STEP recommended options. I am pretty sure I did it right, even though the STEP instructions are a bit confusing (relative to most of STEP) since they not up to date with the current version. Anyways, I did follow the instructions for weapons positions (back hip dagger, etc.).

Then, I re-installed DSR from scratch, and created a brand new patch, which I placed right after the main DSR mod. After that I re-installed FNIS, and ran it (always ticking the arm fix box), and created once again a new patch, which I placed right after it.

My load order looks like this in MO :

  • <STEP + STEP Extended mods>
  • ã€Skeleton】XP32 Maximum Skeleton Extended
  • <Much more STEP + STEP Extended mods>
  • STEP Extended patch
  • STEP Extended Bashed
  • Dual Sheath redux
  • DSR patch
  • Better Shaped Weapons (I tried deactivating it just in case, but nothing changed)
  • FNIS
  • FNIS output

Anyone has any ideas on what may be wrong with my setup?
