CoT esm problems

Hi,

 

After I did the merges from the CoT patches I ran boss,

and I get the error that ClimatesofTamriel.esm is missing.

 

and I'm not sure how to fix this.

I reinstalled it and it worked but I'm running in a different problem now.

I placed the merged patch in a new folder inside mods folder in MO.

But the merge guide says i need to go to the source mod(CoT) and go to information and select the weatherpatch.esm and place it in optional files.

but i can't find this?

Go to the climates of tamriel mod folder and on the optionals tab move back the .esm

the CoT-WeatherPatch.esm? it's in a separate folder not in the COTmod folder.

one last question. in MO do I deactivate the patches wich i merged or leave them activated too?

no, anything that was merged can be moved to the optionals

Any masters should be left in the load order, like the climatesoftamriel.esm

You should not merge the .esm at all.. that is the cause of your issues. You should only merge the .esp files leaving the .esm since it is a master file. 

 

So your list will ultimately look like 

CoT.esm 

 

Every single CoT.esp merged into one where you made sure it did not renumber the ID´s.

you can merge some .esm just fine but not all because there are generally plugins that us it as a master

i meant the esp's my bad. just double checked, but in my modlist should i only check the merged patch or the merged patch+the  unmerged patches?

The whole point of merging is to get all the content of multiple patches into one. So after you merged you just delete the other .esp.
