I'm unsure how to install the mods when they are optimized.

Question

Hi all!

I have now optimized a number of mods(not Vanilla, HiRes and DLC). How do I add them as mods to the manager?(I use Mod Organizer) Do I delete the current mods, and then install these. Because I assume this causes problem with the "Conflicting Graphics" section of STEP. I am a bit clueless on how to install them.

Another question. The Vanilla, HiRes DLC and DLC textures. After these were optimized, I added them to Mod Organizer by tossing them in the "mods" directory of Mod Organizer folder. They now show up on the left column of mods in Mod Organizer. Is all fine and dandy now? Or will these optimized Vanilla, HiRes DLC and DLC textures, fail to overwrite the original textures in the Data directory?

What I do to create a mod for installation in Mod Organizer is to add the files to a .7z file, which is a simple case of right clicking the directory, 7-zip -> Add to "x.7z", and then right-click the left pane in MO -> install mod. And yes, provided you have included all the other files like the esp in the directory before you zipped it, you can replace the previous, un-optimized one.

If you have ticked the optimized textures in the left pane in MO, your work is done. Just be sure you have added the optimized textures to a subfolder of the 'mods' directory (I call mine "Vanilla Optimized Textures", "DG Optimized Textures", etc) so as not to completely clutter your MO list ;)

The un-optimized vanilla textures are stored in .bsa files in the Data directory, and loose files from activated MO mods automatically 'win'. Just make sure they are kept at the top of left-hand pane, so they don't overwrite the conflicting graphics textures you want to replace some of these vanilla textures later on.
