So I've cleaned the Vanilla ESMs of Identical To Master records as suggested in Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited guide.
It then goes through a process which allows you to retain a completely clean Vanilla Skyrim folder by having the cleaned ESMs loading through Mod Organiser.
I've done that, but I'm wondering how it actually works: Whether I have the 'Cleaned Vanilla ESMs' ticked or not, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, Hearthfires.esm and Dragonborn.esm all still appear once in the Plugins section. So I'm unsure of what happens when it's enabled? Presumably there are two versions of those files that could be loaded, so do the Mod Organizer ones take priority somehow? I don't really mind modifying my vanilla Skyrim folder if need-be, but it does seem sensible not to do so if I can avoid it.
