The right pane has disappeared -- how to repair it?

Question

Posted

In the past this was asked and today again on the Nexus forum. Tannin answered the question in both cases.

So that it can be archived here with as purpose that users can find the answer without having to ask and wait for a response  I've created a post here. It will find its way to the wiki in the (near) future.

Post from today.

My right plane disappeared with all the downloads, I cannot figure out how to restore hellllp

Answer from Tannin:

maybe you managed to pull the separator to the very right thus hiding the right pane. If your mouse-fu is good enough you should still be able to pull the handle back. Otherwise you can open the modorganizer.ini and remove the relevant setting (i think its "window_geometry"). That will reset a few customizations you made, including the separator between the panes.

An older question/post:

I opened MO up earlier this evening and my *entire* right pane is just not there.  None of it.  The left pane is there.  The tool bar across the top with my executables and all the settings stuff is there.  I can change my profiles and in wrye bash, all the appropriate mods are listed as they should be.  I just have no right pane.  No downloads tab, no esp list, nothing at all that's supposed to be in the right pane.  I tried downloading a mod to see if that did anything, but it didn't.  I even tried reinstalling it but that didn't help at all. I have no idea what happened.  Is there a way to reset the UI?

Answer by Tannin:

From the sounds of it the separator between left and right pane has completeley "eaten" the right plane. But there should still be a separator, to the very right (just inside the window border). See if you can grab that and drag it.

If this really doesn't work, open the modorganizer.ini and delete the line starting with "window_split". If that still doesn't work, open the ini file again and delete both the lines "window_split" and "window_geometry"

Of course you need to close MO before editing the ini.
