rootsrat Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Is that possible at all? If so, can all the settings be changed in fly? Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 4
0 Aiyen Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Doubt it since the game have to initialize the new changes somehow... and I do not think it is possible to do that without restarting the game.
0 rootsrat Posted October 24, 2013 Author Posted October 24, 2013 I was wondering, as it's possible to edit ENB ini files on the go, prior to Boris introducing in game menu, (which is effectively GUI in game INI editor), you could (still can) AltTab out of the game, change INI (or FX file for that matter), AltTab back in game and use Backspace key to reload the INI in game. That was what made me wonder if something similar is possible with Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini...
0 Aiyen Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 You can alter ENB settings because they have a reset shader setting built in. This is for features like AO, Reflection etc. Most of the GUI controls (Lighting etc.) are done on a per frame basis, so every time a new frame is loaded in then the change will be done on the next. The stuff in the ini´s are stuff that define what the game loads up.... So unless there is a built in feature, or some sort of clever hack of the .exe done then I do not see it happening. (Hopefully I can get put to shame in this matter! :) )
0 Nearox Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 The only instance I know off where changing ini ingame is possible is with Stable uGridsToLoad I never tried any other setini command and don't know if they exist. If it does, would really like to know this as well! If you think about it, changing the detail settings in-game (e.g. object fade) kind of means that (some) ini settings can be changed in-game since those settings can also be altered in the ini... Or doesn't it?
