Stuck in windowed and CTD when changing to female

Question

Posted

Ok, for some reason my Skyrim is stuck as a little box in the corner of the screen. It's set to windowed with a resolution setting of 1920x1080 but is still just a small window in the corner of the screen. It doesn't matter if I change it back to fullscreen via the launcher still just windowed as a little box... Any idea what I'm missing?

Next, while everything seems just fine for male characters the game will CTD if I change the sex to female about 75% of the time, however the rest of the time it's fine (Usually if I wait a few minutes before changing the sex it's fine). GPU-Z shows the memory only hitting 1.4gb at that point so I doubt that's the issue, however I do note a slowdown right before the CTD. Pulling up the racemenu after making a character causes a freeze so I can't change it that way either... If anyone has any idea what might cause this I'd love to hear em'. Maybe just memory issues? I'm not sure.

Mods are just standard SR mods, nothing extra.

PC Specs:

Samsung 840 SSD

Intel I7-3770K @ 4.5GHz

ASUS nVidia GTX 770

Are you sure you have the extra addon for Racemenu that allows more hairs etc? If you do not then you will CTD when using the showracemenu option most of the time.

Other then that then it is always recommended to only alter sex etc. while inside a small interior to reduce issues.

As for the window issue... If your ini settings are correct, and the problem persist then it is most likely due to some other program you have running as well.

Yep, I was missing the addon. Don't know how I missed that. Thanks, at least that's one issue down. Still can't figure out the windowed issue though. I double checked all the ini files and they are all correct. I didn't have an issue with Skyrim prior to installing SR and this computer is a fresh build, there are very few programs even installed on it besides Skyrim so I doubt that is the issue.

EDIT: Nvm, I figured it out. For some reason the ini changes for the resolution weren't saving so I had to manually set them in SkyrimPrefs.ini
