SKSE Plugin Loader DynDOLOD DLL fatal error occurred while loading plugin

Question

Posted

Just ran DYNDOLOD 3.00 Alpha-182.  Seemed to be with no problems, but when I tried to run my game, SKSE2.2.6 returned a fatal error message:

DynDOLOD.DLL: disabled, fatal error occured while loading plugin.

Any suggestions?

Doublecheck you have the current version of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable packages for Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2022 installed.
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist

You can install it through winetricks, vcrun2022. Then the latest test version should work?

I updated my Visual C++ Redistributable for 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022 through winetricks as it turns out I didn't have the latest.

Unfortunately that didn't seem to fix the issue. This is my SKSE64.log using the latest test version. No DynDOLOD.log was generated.

Delete old logs. Start game with this test version https://mega.nz/file/lE4zga5a#3KTo8eqYSzdUBve68FB1SY17uoNXD6RERl6NpiIYosk

Upload new logs and in case there is a message window a screenshot of it.

Well, it looks like I may have solved the issue. It turns out that, for whatever reason, installing the Visual C++ Redistributable 2022 through protontricks into my SSE prefix as opposed to only having it in my default wine prefix has gotten the latest test DLL to work for me. It was a workaround I discovered while installing Open Animation Replacer. If there's any further tests you'd like me to run, I'm more than happy to. Otherwise thank you so much for your time, sheson. Sorry it was a problem on my end!

Ah yes, choosing the prefix for Skyrim Special Edition is required, so the steps are either to run something like this on the command prompt:

WINEPREFIX="/the/path/to/SteamLibrary/SteamApps/compatdata/489830/pfx" winetricks --force vcrun2022

Or

Start the protonfix GUI, select Skyrim Special Edition: 489830 Steam App, click through to winetricks, select the default wineprefix, select Install a Windows DLL or component, check vcrun2022 and the click OK.
