DynDOLOD is active option greyed out in the MCM menu

Question

Posted (edited)

So I was following TechAngel85's Skyrim Special Edition Guide v2 (https://wiki.step-project.com/User:TechAngel85/SSE_Guide/v2) and I finally got to the end of the guide following every small detail to make sure I executed everything flawlessly. I received no error messages throughout the process, was sure everything was working correctly when I enter the game to find out that the "DynDOLOD is active" option is greyed out in the MCM. I've also followed GamerPoets's video about DynDOLOD and made sure to also visualize the entire process alongside Tech's guide. I tried searching the web for any similar problems and found only 3, the newest of which was almost 2 years ago, and contained no helpful information to me, and the rest were quite dated from before SSE's release date. I was unable to find further relevant information regarding my problem and was hopeful that someone would be able to assist me in my final predicament that is standing between me and finally beginning my play-through.

Any information would be much appreciated.

After a long time of testing I discovered what I assume could've been the issue. Apparently I had to use the 64 versions of DynDOLOD/TexGen but the STEP guide I posted did not specify anywhere that this could be the case. I have also not found any specification in this forum to use the 64 versions of the software with Skyrim Special Edition.

There is no difference between the x86 and x64 version other than the memory support. They both run the same and support all 3 version of Skyrim equally.

I suggest to pay attention to the log messages to make sure nothing went wrong or address the problems if they did.
