Exception Copying while Merging

Question

Posted

Hi there Mator recently I've been trying to merge Sneak Tools mod and Sneak Tools Patch but never succeeded.

I can provide you with the merge log.

I tried downloading the older version of the Sneak Tools Patch which is a replacer for the main SneakTools.esp.

Haven't solved until now. What could possibly wrong?

The rest of the other merge works fine, and when I read the log about the violation address I thought it is about the permission issue, but the other merges work just fine.

Thank you.

Looks like either an issue with the plugin file or with the way the xEdit framework was initialized.  Do you get the same issue with the merge plugins xEdit script?

I'm trying with the Merge Plugins from xEdit Script and it gave me this error "Error in unit 'mergePlugins' on line 222 : Undeclared Identifier 'ConstructOkCancelButtons'"

I searched and the solution in your nexus forum which is here https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1030154-merge-plugins-tes5edit-script/page-338&do=findComment&comment=24272634, the link you gave for the mteFunctions dev version is no longer available

Okay just redownload the Merge Script and used the included mteFunctions and it successfully merged the mod but with the same errors.

I copied the log directly from the Merge Script message box. Looks like there is something wrong with the esp? I don't know how to fix if it is related to the esp.

Yeah, if it's happening in xEdit as well with the script than it is definitely an issue with the ESP (or a bug with xEdit).  We need to pass this up to Zilav.

Should I also post this on the xEdit support forum here or is there a specific link to let Zilav know?

Here is a tip how i do merge with tes5edit.

1.) Load all .esp you want to merge

2.) Right click Apply Filter for Cleaning

3.) ONLY use   "Undelete and Disable References"

4.) If there is problem with static, weapon, armor, books ect, you can DELETE that item(s) but only IF that item don't have script attached to it, (in your case books, so you can delete them, but write NAME of that item it will be needed later)

5.) Use "Apply Script" and then MERGE esp(s)

6.) If there is no Errors close and backup your merge file.

Now if you now how to use Creation kit you can find these items in LEFT box under FILTER name, if you dont know how to use CK then do this:

1.) Once CK is open load your esp file, with click on box until it is crossed, with click on "Set as Active File"

2.) In left panel under Filter scroll all the way down and find ALL.

3.) In Filter box use name of item you delete in tes5edit

4.) Once found item(s) just copy that item(s) in say Dragonsreach on table or in your house somewhere so you can pick up in game

5.) Save ESP and Exit CK.

6.) Load game and find item(s) in CELL that you deleted in tes5edit and then where you copy item(s) in CK.

7.) This works for me just fine all the time i merge esm/esp files. So it should work for you as well if not well something is wrong with esm/esp, or there is script that is attached to that item(s).

if you know how to use CK, there is script box that you should find so to see if that item(s) are script attached.

if script is attached than you need to play with script and see if you can find how to solve prob

dkrosich: These errors have nothing to do with UDRs or other plugin errors, they're access violations.

Looks like merging that plugin is a no go, unless I might try merge them manually ie. Using the copy as override for each plugins to make it into one. Ofc if I don't run into the masters problem.

How's merge plugins able to resolve this missing master thing in case it happens? I'm very curious on your magic on the merge plugin and tempted to redo it manually just for this plugin if it is even possible.

You won't be able to copy the records manually either.
