Support for 64bit binaries error on fresh install in MO

Grim_Tickler

Question

Following this guide https://www.reddit.com/r/skyrimmods/wiki/beginners_guide I constantly get an error trying to run LOOT and SKSE from inside MO. I tried reinstalling skyrim and MO to no avail. Also this is what the log looks like when I run MO. TES5edit, wrye bash, Skyrim, and Skyrim launcher will run from inside MO.

The only times I have seen this error message listed is either the user was trying to open a FOMOD and hadn't enabled the correct installer - not an issue here.

Or another user that had serious issues with their Windows installation, who also never reported back on the progress - also not seeming to be an issue here.

The only other thing that I will mention is many times AV or firewall packages interfere with the "hooking" mechanism and more often than not they need to have MO added to the exemptions.

I notice that you have AVG installed so you might want to look at adding MO to its exemptions. At the moment this is where I'm putting my money as the culprit.

Welcome to STEP @Grim_Tickler

May I suggest you follow the official MO guide instead of the Reddit one?

MO 1.3.11 does not handle ANY 64bit programmes but I am perplexed as to why LOOT and SKSE are showing this error as the official releases of those tools are not 64bit. Did you use the official versions or are you trying to use some other compilations?

post-9046-0-97555800-1458520563_thumb.pngThank you!

https://loot.github.io/           https://skse.silverlock.org/          is where I downloaded them. I'll focus on the official guide from now on! Is there any reason why MO would mistake these executables for 64bit versions? Is there some other thing trying piggy back along with LOOT and SKSE?

I uninstalled AVG antivirus, AVG pc tuneup, and AVG zen. I also added an exception for MO in windows firewall and doing all that solved it! I suppose I should have removed one at a time but at least both LOOT and SKSE are functioning now inside MO! I suspect it was AVG pc tuneup as it will disable idle programs and because I wasn't subscribed to AVG AV I actually wasn't utilizing it's firewall but I will reinstall these programs one by one to rule them out. Thank you for your help! :-)
