Tattoos disappearing when stripping clothes

Question

Posted

Hello again.

I noticed a "glitch" in my game with SRLE installed.

I selected tattoos for the body of my character from the racemenu as I created a new character and they were showing nicely on the arms.

However, when I took the clothes off, the tattoos were also removed.

Here's what I mean:

Tattoos ON with armor (fur kilt)

Tattoos OFF without armor:

What could be messing with this tattoo removal?

I've never seen that, but never went looking either.

Since it was added via RaceMenu it might be a question to ask expired since I'm not familiar enough with how it does its thing to give a good answer.

Have you completely stripped your character before going in Racemenu and then applying the tattoos?

No I'll try this!

EDIT: Nah doesn't work. It seems that when the character is butt naked no bodypaint can be visible, even from the racemenu. I'll try re-installing the mod in case it got mixed up somehow.

OK after tampering with it a bit, I realized that the female body accepts tattoos normally. It's the male body that has the issue.

Now that is interesting... will look into that.

Well the answer is quite hilarious. Apparently body paint and nude doesn't work together. I used the underwear option from Better Males mod and it shows tattoos properly now. Weird.

I played around with the different options in the favored soul meshes and saw that the only way to get nude males with tattoos on, was to select the any of the Body Hair types from the sub-folder for "uncircumsized textures". The regular ones at the root of the optional files don't seem to work :/

Yeah I thought so. However tattoos are overlays so they should be able to write over whatever texture you place on the character. I'm not 100% sure of that though.
