  1. Hi all UPDATE: Argggghhh. Just noticed that the Users>My Documents > My Games> Skyrim folder has skse in. I must have missed deleting the folder last time. So I just uninstalled Skyrim again I assume I'll need to repeat all the STEP CORE steps up to 1.D1? I'll leave the below post in case any of it is still relevant. I'll make sure everything is deleted this time. Orginal post below I'm relatively new to all this so please bare with me. I'm trying to create the full STEP Core installation and following the STEP CORE guide to the letter. (system specs at the bottom of the post) Background After trying to somewhat cack handedly mod skryim myself I figured I'd use STEP CORE to learn the process and make my own alterations when I understood things better. Anyway as I said I've been trying to follow STEP CORE as closely as possible, reading the detailed instructions, reading the utility readme files etc. I uninstalled skyrim (and deleted old saves and ini files) and steam then reinstalled steam to a new directory C:\Steam and then downloaded skyrim. I've got to section 1.D1 and started looking at ini editing but I'm a bit confused. Firstly a couple of unexpected warning messages have popped up at the bottom of Mod organiser. The Log is below 02:11:52 [D] Working directory: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer 02:11:52 [D] MO at: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer 02:11:52 [D] initializing core 02:11:52 [D] initialize plugins 02:11:52 [D] looking for plugins in C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\plugins 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "bsaExtractor.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "checkFNIS.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "diagnoseBasic.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "gameFallout3.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "gameFalloutNV.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "gameOblivion.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "gameSkyrim.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "iniEditor.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "installerBAIN.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "installerBundle.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "installerFomod.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "installerManual.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "installerNCC.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "installerQuick.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "NMMImport.dll" 02:11:52 [D] loaded plugin "previewBase.dll" 02:11:53 [D] loaded plugin "pyCfg.py" 02:11:53 [D] loaded plugin "proxyPython.dll" 02:11:53 [D] game path: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim 02:11:53 [D] managing game at C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim 02:11:53 [D] setting up configured executables 02:11:53 [D] configured profile: STEP CORE 02:11:53 [D] initializing tutorials 02:11:53 [D] loaded language en-US 02:11:53 [D] interface Wireless Network Connection seems to be up (address: fe80::68dc:b6fc:bb84:2278%13) 02:11:53 [D] displaying main window 02:11:53 [D] C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\Mod Organizer\profiles\STEP CORE\modlist.txt saved 02:11:56 [D] unknown ini setting fBrightLightColorB 02:11:56 [D] unknown ini setting fBrightLightColorG 02:11:56 [D] unknown ini setting fBrightLightColorR 02:11:56 [D] iRadialBlurLevel in wrong ini file (skyrimprefs.ini, should be skyrim.ini) 02:11:56 [D] unknown ini setting iShadowSplitCount 02:11:56 [D] iAdapter in wrong ini file (skyrimprefs.ini, should be skyrim.ini) 02:11:56 [D] iPresentInterval in wrong ini file (skyrimprefs.ini, should be skyrim.ini) 02:11:56 [D] unknown ini setting bMouseAcceleration 02:11:56 [D] unexpected section NavMesh in skyrimprefs.ini 02:11:56 [D] bDecals in wrong ini file (skyrimprefs.ini, should be skyrim.ini) 02:11:56 [D] bSkinnedDecals in wrong ini file (skyrimprefs.ini, should be skyrim.ini) 02:11:56 [D] uMaxSkinDecals in wrong ini file (skyrimprefs.ini, should be skyrim.ini) 02:11:56 [D] unknown ini setting uMaxSkinDecalsPerActor 02:11:56 [D] unexpected section BlurShaderHDR in skyrimprefs.ini 02:11:56 [D] unexpected section BlurShader in skyrimprefs.ini [] It's the "unexpected" messages that worry me. I haven't installed any mods yet though just the tools in the utility section so where have these come from? Or is it nothing to worry about? The second part is using the configurator in MO. If it'll reduce the chances of me making mistakes I'd rather use that but it seems you can't quite do everything through it so am I better off using the ini editor in Mod Organizer instead? Is there a more indepth tutorial on mod organiser and editing the inis with it? I searched the forum and this thread provided some answers but I'm still feeling unsure. https://forum.step-project.com/topic/9703-starting-over-with-mod-organizer-questions/?hl=%2Bconfigurator&do=findComment&comment=151546 And either way I still want to know about those warning messages. I don't want to get another few hours in and find out I messed up a vital step early on. Thanks for any help you can give. I can see the community has put a huge amount of work into STEP so sorry if I'm asking about stuff that's already been covered.
