  1. I verified the game cache and launched a vanilla game. Still, the game runs at 1.5 FPS. I don't know what I did wrong but I'm thinking I'm gonna have to completely restart.
  2. Update: Just tried a fresh profile on ModOrganizer with no mods activated/installed. CTD on startup, it seems that I cannot play the game at all without these texture files now. With just the optimized textures, I'm running on 3.1 FPS.
  3. I've been following the S.T.E.P. guide for FNV step by step, and tested my savegames before optimization. Prior to running DDSopt and installing the textures, I ran at about 20-40 FPS depending on location, but since installing the optimized files, my game runs at about 1-3 FPS...I'm not sure what I did wrong. I even tried installing the premade optimized textures, but the system still runs at these speeds. Any ideas?
  4. GrantSP, thanks for your help dealing with this, and thanks for the tip to move the MO folder out of the steam directory. Looks like a long night ahead of reformatting.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I've moved it out, but I've noticed one thing. The whole games directory, a folder that I made myself, becomes write protected every time I launch mod organizer. I'm not sure why this occurs, as my permissions for the folder have been set to all access. Scratch that, it appears my entire hard drive doesn't set permissions for users, and I can't modify this. I give myself the permissions, but it still sets the directory to read only.
  6. I'm running MO version 1.3.6, and windows 8.1. So should I just move the Mod Organizer folder out of my Fallout New Vegas directory and place it in my games folder?
  7. Hello, I've been following EssArrBee's STEP guide for modding FNV. I've been successful in installing NVSE, but as soon as I install FNV4GB updated, I get this error message: An error occurred trying to write back MO settings to C:/Games/Steam/steamapps/common/Fallout New Vegas/Mod Organizer/ModOrganizer.ini.new: File is write protected. I've checked the forums for a solution and I've implemented all of them (changing the directory from read only to all, changing the permissions for the games directory, etc.), and each solution works only temporarily. I open mod organizer once, and it works, but on the second time, I get the error message again. I have not found a way to remove this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lamerthanyou
