Vsync not working, setting pics inside
MaroES replied to MaroES's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I just tested One Tweak and it didn't disable vsync. No idea why it wasn't working earlier, sorry :/. If I ever find out I'll update this post, but I don't know I how I would figure that out tbh. I'm assuming from your reply that Nvidia inspector's fps limiter isn't working? -

I'm making an update to say I've got Nvidia's vsync and fps limiter working. I know for sure because I have my enb vsync and fps limiter disabled. I'm not 100% sure how I fixed it, but I'm suspecting the "One Tweak" SKSE plugin might have something to do with it. When I get a chance I'll test it and let you guys know. -

The possibility of using both the fps limiter and vsync together is something I've googled a couple times and haven't gotten a clear answer on. Some people say they synergize together while others say having one setting on disables the other. Have you tested and confirmed this? It would be great if both helped out. Also, outside of iPresentInterval=1 in skyrim.ini are there any ini tweaks that modify vsync? I can't figure out why ENB vsync works but my driver's vsync doesn't. I have my driver's vsync set to "yes" in the Nvidia Control Panel for tes5.exe. "Hmm... it seems that Tony would recommend using driver vsync for whatever reason. I might want to test that. It was only recently discovered that iPresentInterval has no effect in SkyrimPrefs.ini, so it may be there is something to be said for driver vsync." I'd be interested to know too. I've found that opinions on what vsync is best varies by guide. Perhaps it depends on the video card? -

Using your suggestion I was able to find that the file "Update.ini" (taken from tony971's Speed and Stability Guide for ENB on the nexus) had a tweak iPresentInterval=0. I deleted that tweak and was able to get vsync to work through the ENB (but not the Nvidia Control Panel). Of course I'm getting more crashes for some reason, but hopefully I can figure that out on my own. I'm going to take a break from troubleshooting for now. ENB Vsync is good enough for me atm. Thank you for the help, I wouldn't have figured this out on my own and haven't gotten this kind of help on any other forum . -

Thanks for the reply. I understand how ini's work in Mod Organizer profiles, but I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting in terms of troubleshooting or what I may be doing wrong. -

MaroES replied to MaroES's question in General Skyrim LE Support
I wanted to make an update and say that I tested vsync in Skyrim via the Steam launcher and it was working properly with my ENB active (but it's still not working in Mod Organizer). I used the Nvidia vsync "yes" setting." This means that my enb ini's are fine, and that something is going on in Mod Organizer. I've reinstalled MO and updated to the latest version but it didn't fix the issue, so I think (but I'm not 100% sure) that the issue doesn't have to do with MO itself. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should troubleshoot next? -

Thanks for the suggestions. I updated my d3d9.dll file from v0.269 to v0.272 and I can confirm there are no comments on the vsync line in enblocal.ini, but I unfortunately still have the same problem. -

Yea... I feel clueless. It baffles me that in the last screenshot vsync is checked in the enb settings but the fps is not synced to my monitor's 60hz refresh rate. Vsync works fine for other games. I also mod Fallout New Vegas with an ENB and have no issues with Vsync. 60hz. These are my tesv.exe settings, except I changed vsync from "on" to "use 3d application settings." https://i.imgur.com/7UDyBD4.png I've haven't had success with either setting. -

Thank you for the reply. I've done as you suggested and I'm afraid it didn't work. I made a small album of the settings I changed in case I did something incorrectly. https://imgur.com/a/v23le -
Please look at my settings in this album I made before giving suggestions. https://imgur.com/a/O9rdK I've also turned off vsync in the Nvidia control panel and enabled it in enblocal.ini but that didn't do anything. The only thing that sort of works is the enb fps limiter, which sorta works. If I set it to 60 fps it caps it to 51, although with it off I can get to the high 70s. It stays at 51fps until I set the fps limiter to 64 fps... really random. I have a 1080p monitor at a 60hz refresh rate. What am I not doing right? I honestly haven't used S.T.E.P. that much outside of a few tweaks. Considering this issue mostly deals with vsync, which I think should be unrelated to my mods, I hope it's okay if I ask for help here. Dynamic Distant Objects LOD - pre 2.xx
MaroES replied to sheson's question in DynDOLOD & xLODGen Support
Hi, Is it possible and safe to remove a master esp from the DynDOLOD esp for a mod that I want to uninstall? I would like to move the RealShelter.esp since I could not get it to work with Frostfall. -

I am happy to say that a clean install fixed the issue. I recall when I first installed that when TES5Edit was generating the LODs I had to exit TES5Edit for some reason. I emptied the output folder before I restarted, but I don't think I reinstalled the DynDOLOD esp. I'm guessing this was the source of my issue. Sorry I didn't understand this earlier and thank you very much for your help. Your mod is excellent. -

I can confirm that nothing is overwriting the DynDOLOD output files (including anything in the overwrite folder). I'm not sure how to check that they match the esp they were generated with, but I have the DynDOLOD esp activated in my plugins. I don't think it likely but it's possible I made a mistake when I followed GamerPoets' tutorial, how could I check that they match? I went ahead and sent you a link via message to my uploaded JSON files. -

Thank you for the reply. Since I put my output directory in the MO mod folder as instructed by GamerPoets, I don't think that is the issue or perhaps I don't understand your directions. Here is a pic of the folder in question activated in my MO https://imgur.com/R3QfK6Q. I had it activated when I was experiencing the error message in Whiterun. -

Hello, Thanks for the great mod. I installed DynDOLOD last night step by step according to GamerPoets' Tutorial. It's been working great, except I went into Whiterun today and kept getting the message "Can not read data from DynDOLOD_Tamriel.json." Here's a pic I took: https://imgur.com/g8AUOdz. I don't really know where to start troubleshooting, I hope it's ok if I ask for help here. I've been using DynDOLOD v1.28 and TES5Edit v3.1.1. I tried initializing the mod after leaving a small interior space. It didn't work and I know the html manual said that step doesn't apply to new saves, but I gave it a try anyways.
