Everything I've read has always said mixing Steam and nexus mods was a bad idea. I guess I just never looked into it to see if it was ok. Thanks Grant I'll check that out.

I don't use steam mods but thank you for the suggestion.

STEP v2.2.9.2 Official Bug Reports
TurtleClerck replied to TechAngel85's topic in Step Skyrim LE Guide
First time using DynDOLOD and I get an error about HF Birds Clean. Says not to load. Searched the forums and couldn't find anything. I disabled it in my load order and DYNDOLOD is doing it's thing. -
Cool, thanks phazer.

Lol! My bad, I went to public school.

Hey TechAngle, I've poked around in the CK and found the FollowerCount in Global tab but I have no idea what to do with it to make it work. I wish that tweak in Wrye Bash worked for the bash patch. That would be so easy.

Hey Greg, thanks for your reply. I had actually run across that mod a couple weeks ago but I have not tried it out. I just downloaded it so I'll give it a try. To be honest I don't care about any of the features it has. I really just want a simple mod that only increases the number of followers I can have at one time. As few as just two would be great but four would be ideal. I use, for the most part, custom followers that have their own framework and leveling system so all that other stuff is just bloat that I don't need and only leads to potential problems and conflicts. If you know someone or somewhere I could find help making what I want for myself please pass that along. Again thank you for your help.

I would like to find a mod that simply changes the follower count in Skyrim. I have used AFT for a couple years but find that I never utilize any of it's other features anymore. With most of the popular follower mods using their own framework now it seems pointless to have all that other stuff weighing down my game. If someone knows of such a mod or can point me to the information to create one myself I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks

Left Pane Priority...How to group mods?
TurtleClerck replied to TurtleClerck's question in Mod Organizer Support
Thank you. I think I'm getting it now. As long as there is no conflict or you want something to overwrite something else it doesn't matter. The nice green and red colors are helpful as well. Now when I click on a mod it shows what it overwrites or is being overwritten by. Man, wouldn't it be nice if someone made a program so you could plug in all your mods and it would magically make them all get along. Someday maybe. -
Left Pane Priority...How to group mods?
TurtleClerck replied to TurtleClerck's question in Mod Organizer Support
I understand that. I have already disabled that warning function in MO, but I am unable to use the guide in full. So does it truly not matter what order the left pane is organized except as it relates to one mod overwriting another? So say Falskarr, AFT, 3DNPC, any weapons and the like and my custom race can go anywhere?? Sorry if I'm just not getting it. -
I have searched everything I can find and gotten answers ranging from it doesn't matter to extremely important depending on who you ask. I had to face facts that my puny laptop cannot handle even the core build of STEP so I have to go back to a crappy looking skyrim. While I have learned a great deal from following the guide one thing still alludes me. Where should I be placing my mods in the left pane? Tons of info on right pane load order, but not so much on this. I understand how one mod may overwrite another and how important it is especially with meshes and textures. What no one seems to address is mods that add quests, new land spaces, followers, races, weapons, player homes etc. In the never ending quest to find the most stable playable build I can I have used the guide to try and figure this out but since all the mod types I just listed are not part of STEP I'm lost. Essentially I have installed sections 2 c,d,e as they are pretty much required for any setup. I have a few animations, sound, and clutter and several of the game play section. Now where should I be adding these other mods in. One thread I found said that if following the step build any mod could be added at the bottom of the left pane as long as it was placed above all patches. This seems to be not very good advice to me. If you could point me to a resource that could help clear this up I would be ever so grateful. Thanks

Skyrim Performance Monitor Video Card Options
TurtleClerck replied to TurtleClerck's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Ok thank you. I have an HP notebook so I'll use the M series? Why would I have both? Sorry I know nothing about the technical side of these things. Why does it say 0mb? From everything I've looked up I was under the impression I have (1536mb) 1.5g vram and I have used this as a guide to installing step core. I would like to set up so I can benchmark but I have no idea what I'm doing. -

XP32 Detailed instructions....not so detailed.
TurtleClerck replied to TurtleClerck's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Yep, I'm an idiot! Was using the wrong version. Sorry. Please delete this so no one see how stupid I am. If I had scrolled up just a little I would have seen that note at the top for the SFW download link. Geez wasted two hours trying to figure this out last night. -
XP32 Detailed instructions....not so detailed.
TurtleClerck posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
I just finished my step extended setup and took off for a test drive. Other than a pretty significant drop in fps which I'm sure can be cured with more tweaking, everything worked great so far except, DSR. I even questioned the instructions during the initial install because I have used these mods before along with IMA and not had any issues. Well it didn't work in game. I had no weapon sliders to adjust weapon placement. I re installed as I always have. No Frostfall dagger @ back anim sword @ back axe at back mace @ hip no two handed race menu plugin bash patch fnis done Hopefully this helps anyone having the same issue. On a positive note I have the best looking Skyrim EVER!!!! Thanks to everyone that put their hard work into this project and those of you that support the forums and help all us noobs with our issues! -
Will do. I just have one more question and I'll stop bothering you. Up to this point in my install I have been merging plugins with the same name. I noticed the instructions said to install EDT then move the ruffled feather after, I'm assuming, the beauty of skyrim. Should I not have merged all those previous mods?
-
Thank you so much. Just to confirm should I NOT install moss rocks and moss rocks dragonborn now? I see I have the moss rock.esp after installing the ruffled feather stuff. Also I have several other Q's and I'm not sure where to find the answers and not sure where to post. I have read SO much stuff the last couple days my brain's on overload. I'm trying to follow the guide implicitly but I'm pretty new to all this and I'm probably being overly cautious but considering how much time I have invested my thoughts are the only stupid question is the one never asked. Again thank you for the help.
-
Thank you for the reply. Yes I'm following the Step Extended guide. Are you saying that the Step guide to install MO shows how to make that warning go away? I'll have to take a look at that again must have missed it the first time.
-
Thanks for this post I was also quite confused by this. I have another problem as well. I am ready to do the benchmark after loading the conflicting section but MO is telling me there is a potential load order problem. It wants me to move clothing and clutter fixes after weapons and armor fixes. Don't remember this being an issue on my last test. Should the warning be ignored or have I borked something along the way?

So first off I'm new to S.T.E.P. Decided to finally take the plunge and install the core mods. Hi everybody! To do this I thought what better way than to start from scratch. I dumped everything and did the "pristine" install and updated to the newest version of MO. After the second benchmark test I took a look in the new step core profile I created and none of the saves are present. I looked in the save tab in the right pane, I tried to transfer local saves under the profile and I looked in the saves folder for said profile in my MO folder. Nothing. They are still in My Documents/Skyrim like always they just don't show up in MO. I'm just concerned I've made a mistake somewhere and would rather correct it now instead of later after I've installed a 100 mods. Hope I posted this in the correct place. I'm pretty new to all this and modding in general so feel free to "school" me on proper protocol. Thanks TC
