  1. ...huh. So apparently moving Steam out of the program files just solved it. MO runs skse just fine now.
  2. Roger. Moving the folder now.
  3. Also my directx is already up to date according to the links TechAngel gave. Edit: have also just copied the .inis from the documents folder to the profile. Still goes to the vanilla launcher from skse. It occurs to me that out of all the programs involved (SKSE, skyrim, steam, and MO) only the mod organizer is run as an administrator. I do this because if I don't then MO won't run because it can't get mod list access. Could this be related somehow?
  4. Documents folder?
  5. Oh. Monkeycid: No, it doesn't. Running skse by itself works just fine.
  6. My skse.ini looks the same as yours, but I just noticed your MO is v1.2.19. Mine is 1.2.18. I...should probably get the next version shouldn't I?
  7. Danimal: Have done that, issue persists. Dragon King: I have not. I'm reluctant to do so since I don't understand how it could be related to my issue. My skrim.ini: The skyrimpre.ini is blank at the moment.
  8. No offense but... that sounds like far more confusing than what I need. I just want some clear advice since I'm getting multiple people suggesting different things and I don't know how much overlaps with what. So far I have renamed/generated a new MO .ini file, I have created an SKSE folder and SKSE.ini in the relevant place, and have made a new profile on MO and it still keeps going to the vanilla skyrim launcher.
  9. Danimal: My SkyUI folder in MO has the following: meta.ini, the readme, the bsa, and the esp. I installed SkyUI by downloading it from nexus and double clicking it in the downloads section of MO and then clicking Ok. GrantSP: I don't remember whether the binary line just came like that or if I did something to set it in the past. The steamapp ID is actually the same as the default one MO is using, but I put it in anyway in an attempt at earlier problem solving. I am also not doing anything to 'get around the launcher'. What I said about using skse directly from the skyrim folder was merely something I did to confirm that skse itself was working fine. My problem is still that MO keeps trying to run the skyrim launcher instead. I'm also getting kind of confused now. I'd really appreciate if you could tell me what I should do in a step by step manner (1, 2, 3, etc.) if only for my own peace of mind.
  10. SKSE works fine. If I click on the loader itself from the folder then it'll run perfectly. The problem is that for whatever reason, the Mod Organizer will not run SKSE properly. When I click run, the following happens: - A command window for the skse loader appears then immediately closes. - The vanilla launcher opens - If I go to skyrim from the vanilla launcher then skse will not run and I get an error message from skyUI. Now that skyUI is running through the organizer though, I just don't get any mods active whatsoever. Here's my skse loader log too:
  11. I'm referring to the console command, yes. It said something like an answer for the command could not be found or something.
  12. Thanks. Anyway, reinstalled SKSE again and it's still going to the loader. SKSE is selected on the dropdown and that section is linked to skse_loader.exe, yet when I click the Run button it loads the vanilla skyrim launcher. However, if I go to the skyrim folder myself and click the skse_loader.exe then it loads skse properly. My current theory is that for whatever reason MO is /not/ in fact running skse_loader.exe when I click the Run button but is in fact trying to run vanilla skyrim/the launcher. I don't know how to test for this though. My executables dropdown currently has Skyrim, Skyrim Loader, and SKSE in it. Is there any way to remove skyrim and the loader from the dropdown to eliminate any confusion that may be occuring?
  13. I followed the instructions in https://wiki.step-project.com/Skyrim_Script_Extender and the video there to install SKSE. Edit: is there any way to pure SKSE from my MO executables dropdown and start again? I ask because even after uninstalling SKSE from the mod list I cannot actually get it to vanish from the dropdown.
  14. Yea, I uninstalled skyrim and reinstalled it, then reinstalled SKSE and still only goes to the vanilla launcher. The only unassigned mods in the data folder (in fact, the only mods in the data folder) are dragonborn, dawnguard, and hearthfire. The issue has to be with MO itself somehow since everything I've checked says that the actual install of SKSE and skyrim are fine.
  15. Did it all but still goes to the vanilla launcher. Played anyway and got no result from the command. I'm just going to uninstall/reinstall skyrim and see if that fixes it...
  16. And... it still only runs the skyrim loader. My data folder is empty, there are no unassigned mods in MO's listing, and it still won't run skse. Edit: That's not entirely true. Dragonborn and Dawnguard's esm's are still in the data folder and MO is registering them as unassigned mods. What do I do about them?
  17. My apologies. I thought you just meant NMM and MO. I didn't realize it was connected to the data folder itself nor that MO needed it to be empty. I actually thought the data folder didn't matter to MO since it uses a 'virtual' one. I am emptying my data folder now and will let you know if it works.
  18. By any chance would skse-using mods have to be installed through MO in order to function? I have SkyUI via the steam workshop and it's error messages are what I'm using to determine if SKSE is running.
  19. Ah. Found it, changed it, still goes to the default skyrim launcher.
  20. The FNIS things are all false by default. Edit: I followed the STEP guide when installing SKSE and nothing in the .ini mentions the line you said to change.
  21. What would happen if I moved Steam without uninstalling?
  22. Did this and it still runs default skyrim. Is the problem that the registry doesn't know where the SKSE .exe is? Incidentally, I always run MO as an administrator.
  23. -My skyrim content build ID is 111802. This is the closest thing to a version number I could find under Properties. -Yes the other skse files are in the skyrim directory with the main skse loader -When I click on the SKSE shortcut on my desktop, skyrim is automatically run without using the loader screen. When I try to run SKSE through MO, it goes to the loader screen. Furthermore, if I continue to skyrim proper, SkyUI will give me an alert saying that SKSE is not running. This is how I determined that MO is not running SKSE. -I could run SKSE without using MO, but then none of the mods i have installed through the organizer would work. -I have steam running well before I run MO and have never had the issue STEP Staff describes.
  24. I have run skyrim from Steam before, but always closed once I got to the main menu.
  25. The Binary field entry is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim\skse_loader.exe
