Thanks for the replies. I'll have to check out DynDoLOD.

I integrated Nazeen's feedback into Ambitious Skyrim 6/23/15 Integrated Nazenn's Feeback * Removed Enhanced Blood Textures to reduce CTD's with multiple followers and increased spawns. * Added instructions to clean Hearthfires.esm and note to clean Dawnguard.esm twice if necessary. * Removed iTintTextureResolution=2048 from SKSE.ini - unnecessary and can cause problems. * Updated The Ruffled Feather to the latest version using installer options from Skyrim Revisited - LE. * Skyrim Distance Overhaul - removed instructions to hide objects.ddl - unnecessary. * Replaced Rainbows, Shooting Stars, and Splash of Rain with Wonders of Weather * Replaced Real Rain with True Storms. * Upgraded all Stunning Statues of Skyrim textures to 2k * Added JazzJR CoverKhajiits Bodytexture and Forgotten Argonian Roots

Also, is there a change log somewhere?
-
I agree. AFT is the best for the reason you gave and many others. I updated the guide to reflect that. Thanks for pointing this out.
-
Thanks, glad you like it. Check out the change log at the bottom of the guide to see what's changed recently.

I appreciate the kind words. Here is a link to the guide for a little while longer: https://1drv.ms/1FiHJDO Cheers, Silvermane

I deleted it due to lack of interest. After two months it didn't get a single star. Most of the videos had few views. I think Ambitious Skyrim was too hard for new players and old players already have their favorite mod lists. Here's a link to the guide: https://1drv.ms/1DwRGZ7 You should save that somewhere because I'll be deleting all the files from OneDrive soon too. It's time for me to move on from Skyrim.

I downloaded ELE_Lite_v0_95a - NMM_BAIN. I used LOOT to set the load order. If it doesn't work with LOOT, then that's another strike against it. That screenshot was taken in Volskygge Passages near the exit to the word wall. I thought dungeons were too light with ELE not too dark. In addition, there was too much interior fog and the color of the light was washed out. I'd prefer to avoid having to edit things in the Creation Kit in order to keep Ambitious Skyrim easy to use. I also need the lighting to look good with and without an ENB so people who can't afford an ENB can still use Ambitious Skyrim. I also noticed that mods with ELFX compatibility patches didn't have a patch for RS or ELE, so their lighting might not be as intended. Lanterns Of Skyrim ELFX patch Vivid Landscapes - Castle Volkihar - ELFX Compatibility patch Vivid Landscapes - Orc and Farmhouses - ELFX -Patch Immersive College of Winterhold - ELnFX Patch I don't mean to be difficult or critical of your work, but I have to go by what I see. Cheers, Silvermane

That's some sweet lighting. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks :) [Edit] The interiors look nice but RS + ELE doesn't make the dungeons dark enough. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=426563295 As you can see, this screenshot with ELFX + ELFX Enhancer is much better. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=426566188 You don't even need a torch in the first screenshot while the second one has just enough light to use a bow. The RS + ELE lighting seems to have more interior fog which wasn't to my taste. I first noticed it in the Jorvaskar basement but you can see it in this screenshot too. You can also see that the ELFX lighting seems more golden which I like better. Perhaps it's because I'm using the default ENB, but those are my impressions.

Looks interesting, if a bit complicated. I liked the idea of shared inventory with my followers but not enough to risk adding the mod to my game.
-
That makes sense.

The goal is to have darker dungeons, but not too dark, without gloomy interiors of the buildings in cities and towns. The solution Aiyen proposes doesn't distinguish interiors of dungeons from interiors of buildings. That results in the problem we are describing. Getting the dungeons dark enough makes interiors too dark. Getting interiors light enough makes dungeons too light. Using the ELFX Enhancer to darken dungeons without touching building interiors seems like the optimal solutions to me - with or without an ENB. It provides dungeons with just enough light to use a bow and building interiors that are well lit.
-
I deleted all Cells, Imagespaces, and Lighting Templates from ELFXEnhancer.esp that didn't apply to dungeons. That should give you the dungeon lighting of ELFX - Enhancer and the interior lighting without ELFX - Enhancer.

That's some good info. When I combine that with my experiences (https://steamcommunity.com/app/72850/discussions/0/611702631217494258/?tscn=1428098374) I conclude: 1. COT Dungeons Hazardous = dungeons too dark to use a bow effectively 2. ELFX + ELFX Enhancer = better darker dungeons but building interiors too dark 3. RS + ELE = better interior lighting but dungeons not dark enough 4. ELFX + ELFX Enhancer + mod interior lighting changes out of ELFX Enhancer = better darker dungeons and better interior lighting

No, I didn't see that. I'm happy with the lighting I have now. It looks like you might be able to put something together with those mods. Let me know how it works for you.

To get to the bottom of conflicts like that, you should run TES5Edit, leave all your mods checked, and say ok. Then find the .esp for Serenaholic, expand it, and go through the items to see what other mods are changing them and which one wins. Then, use LOOT rules to move the Serenaholic .esp after any mod that may be overwriting it. You can also change values in TES5Edit to carry forward changes from other mods such as the USKP. Cheers, Silvermane

I think I've pushed the engine as far as I dare.

I halved the TerrainManager settings to get a few more FPS outdoors. I reworked the shadow settings after a long conversation on the steam forum. I set EnableZPrepass=true in EnbLocal.ini and made the corresponding changes in SkyrimPrefs.ini I tried Combat Evolved, then abandoned it after some overpowered encounters. I reworked the magic mods around Awakened Magicka. I added Bound Armory. I replaced Improved Dragon Shouts and Better Wards with Shouts and Magic Unleashed - The Legend of Colette I added Loot and Degradation. I replaced CoT - Hazardous Dungeons with ELFX - Enhancer. I modded ELFX - Enhancer to darken dungeons but not interiors. Instead of deleting old change log entries, I'll be moving them into the word document so more history will be available.
-
I replaced them with the word "deleted" because I figured it out on my own. Someone else must have deleted the posts. Detailed instructions are available in the Ambitious Skyrim guide.

Yup. I guess to place a cloak it had to modify the cell and that overwrites all the cell's data. I figured out how to change the lighting template using TES5Edit so now Fort Dawnguard is properly lit in my game.

Thanks for the info. I couldn't find a SweetFX preset I liked. Some had too much contrast making the snow blindingly white and the shadows impenetrable. Others had too much saturation making Skyrim too colorful, even cartoonish. Finally, many tinted everything blue or green or some other color. It really comes down to personal taste. If you find a preset that you like, then you should use it.
-
Thanks, I fixed the instructions. That was for SweetFX GT one of many presets I tried.

Oops, I made the change on my local file but forgot to upload it to OneDrive. Here's my experience with Anisotropic Filtering. First, I disabled it in the driver and enabled it in the [Engine] section of Enblocal.ini because I read that it is better that way. Then, I noticed the roads ahead of me became blurry a short distance out. So, I tried enabling it in the graphics driver and that fixed it. I have no idea why it didn't work in the engine for me? Perhaps it depends on UsePatchSpeedhackWithoutGraphics or UseDefferedRendering. You should be able to test this for yourself by turning it on and off and watching how quickly the road ahead of you becomes blurry. I'd be interested in your results with the driver vs. engine vs. none.
-
Thanks, I deleted the two up top.

I haven't started the Civil War yet but I've seen some massive fights between Stormcloaks and Imperials. One battle near the Shrine of Talos outside Whiterun had around 25 NPC's fighting at once and it didn't crash or lag too much.
