I'm running STEP "legendary" with the weather and immersive survival packs. Periodically, I encounter FPS drops after interacting with something (like a corpse or chest) both indoors and outdoors.I usually have a framerate pretty solid around 60, but on the occasions this problem crops up, I will drop to 10 fps after looting a corpse chest. The fps drops as soon as I interact and while I'm in the chest or corpse (can also happen wih books, doors, conversations) and after exiting the object.Funny thing is, if I exit the object and interact with it again the framerate gets fixed and jumps back up to 60fps.Again, this doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be annoying. At first I thought it might be script bloat because it wouldn't happen until after I'd played for awhile (and I hadn't made the interaction correlation yet). But, it has also happened immediately after launch at times. I also thought it might be SFO or fade distances, but I've tested with SFO disabled and distances quite low and still encountered the issue. Also, it happens indoors as well, and pcb never fixes it.Would love to know if anyone else has encountered this and knows the cause and/or a fix. Thanks for any help!UPDATE: Apparently it's the interact button itself. If I press the interact hotkey even just in the air or on empty ground the framerate drops and then picks up again as soon as I press the hotkey again. So, seems as though I'm toggling something, though, again, this doesn't happen all the time. Maybe a hotkey related to enb or something? My interact hotkey is numpad7 - is that bound to something that might cause this?UPDATE 2: Definitely a hotkey misfire. I must have inadvertently clicked off num lock, so ... Numpad 7 becomes home ... Which must be bound to something, i just haven't discovered what yet. Sorry, as I "think aloud" here. UPDATE3: Skyrim Performance Monitor binds "pause/unpause" to the Home key, however I don't have SPM running. Is the Home key trying to "call" to SPM and not finding it (since it isn't running)? Maybe that's what causes the fps drop. Random Excessive Depth-of-Field/Blur an ENB issue?Survival effect?
rbtroj replied to rbtroj's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Awesome - thanks all! Yeah, it sounds like the frostfall effect that Aiyen described. Definitely radial. Now that it sounds as though it's configurable, I'll check out the MCM settings. Thanks again! -
I've been using STEP Extended with the realistic weather and immersive survival packs for several weeks now with almost no problem. However, I've encountered a rare (I believe - has happened only twice in those many weeks) issue where the Depth of Field effect in the game goes way over the top. I've chalked it up to a quirk with ENB or have even considered that maybe I fat fingered an unknown (to me) hotkey combo that invokes extreme DoF. Tonight when it happened, however, I got to wondering if maybe it is an effect of one of the pack mods? Does DoF go bonkers for any of the survival mods? Such as extreme cold or fatigue? My character wasn't drunk, and I don't believe he was cold (though may have been and I missed the warning). But I know he was "very tired". I thought it might be that, but then I was in an inn warming up, and when I exited, the effect disappeared. So I'm thinking maybe it's a cold effect (or, again, just a random glitch cleared by moving indoors then outdoors again). Anyway, just curious. It was a really severe effect. Like the worst amateur photoshop tilt-shift effect you could imagine. Thanks!

Dual Sheath Redux mods - enable all? Or just DSR Output
rbtroj posted a question in General Skyrim LE Support
Sorry - I'm so damned confused ... Following the STEP instructions, I downloaded and installed the Dual Sheath Redux, aMidianBorn BoS pack, Elemental Staffs pack, and Skyrim De-LARP pack. Then I activated each of those in the left pane in MO. Next I ran through the DSR patch process and created the DSR Output mod from the Overwrite in MO. I then activated the DSR Output mod in the left pane in MO. So, I have DSR (main patch) DSR aMB-BoS DSR Elemental Staffs DSR DeLARP DSR Output all checked in left pane of MO. Is this right? Or should only the DSR Output be checked? Is that "the" DSR patch? Also, the DSR instructions said to install the DSR version of Better Shaped Weapons (if using BSW), however, the BSW installation instructions say to choose DSR version only for STEP Extended. What if I am doing Core (with all 3 DLCs)? I'm assuming I am supposed to install all the patches (using the Combined Plugins HF plugin as instructed by the STEP Patches page since I have HF). Can you do Core-only if you have all the DLCs? Or do you have to do Extended? Thanks -
Do STEP patches roll-up "lower" patches?
rbtroj replied to rbtroj's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Thanks to you both. I understood that only one patch was to be used and I understood the patch questionnaire as well. Thanks for the tip on categories as well - that will definitely help for future rebuilds! -
Sorry if this has been asked - I would assume it had been, but searching several ways turned up nothing. I'm new to STEP and rebuilding the core (for the fifth time). The mod "Realistic Ragdolls and Force" (Realistic Force on Nexus) is NOT marked Core however the notes say not to bother with the mod if using the Extended patch. So ... why include it at all? Or rather, why would I not use the Extended patch if I'm rolling the extended STEP load? Also, the way the STEP patches are described kind of makes it seem like they roll up into each other (STEP Core patch into Extended patch into Combined Non-HF into Combined-HF). Do I have that right? And if so, if STEP Extended patch is part of the STEP Combined Plugins patch(es) that suggests to me that I do not need Realistic Force at all. And if that's the case, I can't imagine the STEP authors would then leave Realistic Force in the lineup. Or do the STEP Combined Plugins NOT include the STEP Extended patch? If I'm rolling all DLC's do I need to include the Realistic Force mod with the Combined/Combined-HF plugins? And only leave it out if rolling Core or Extended-ExtendedPatch? Sorry if that's confusing ... my mind is twisted up in knots by now! Thanks for any advice! PS - Another stupid question, but can I change MO categories to whatever I want? I want to categorize mods by STEP section.

Thanks - I'll give that a go!

Every time I run Skyrim (SKSE) through MO (with STEP Core or Extended profile) I end up with files/folders in the Overwrite in MO after quitting Skyrim. So far I have just been adding them to a Trash mod with no ill effect (yet). The last time I went to drag the Overwrite contents to the Trash mod I couldn't find it, so I let go with the mouse, which of course dropped the overwrite files in the wrong mod. No idea which mod. No idea which Overwrite files. Some of the files wanted to overwrite whatever I was copying on top of, but I cancelled that, so at least not all the files were copied. However, I have no idea which mod the ones that did get copied went into. Is there an "undo" or any way to check file changes in the mods? Really not looking forward to rebuilding STEP from scratch, but I guess I have no choice. Vanilla looking good now.

"Potential Mod order problem" <- Is this feature bugged?

"Potential Mod order problem" <- Is this feature bugged?
rbtroj replied to Halde's question in Mod Organizer Support
Bummer ... I just finished re-ordering them like MO told me to. What is the order they should be in? Below is what MO told me to do: "The following changes should prevent these kinds of errors:Move Traps Make Noise after Even Better Quest ObjectivesMove Thieves Guild Requirements after Traps Make NoiseMove Non-Essential Children - Hearthfire after Thieves Guild RequirementsMove The Choice is Yours after Non-Essential Children - HearthfireMove When Vampires Attack after The Choice is YoursMove Complete Crafting Overhaul after When Vampires AttackMove The Paarthurnax Dilemma after Complete Crafting OverhaulMove The Choice is Yours - Dawnguard after The Paarthurnax Dilemma" But I cannot back out of this because I don't remember where these mods were before moving them. Is my only hope to walk through the STEP list again? Is the order in the guide the same as in MO after you've run all the LOOT and BASH and patchers and everything? Thanks for any help.
