Well I reordered the masters in those patches after all. We'll see when I finally launch the game.

https://wiki.step-project.com/Audio_Overhaul_for_Skyrim#Recommendations This page tells me AOS2 should be loaded after - ADS - Realistic Water 2 - Wet & Cold I've created meta rules to that effect in LOOT However when I load Wrye Bash I get orange errors with 3 of AOS patches: - the one for Realistic Water 2 - which tells me it should come *after* AOS - the one for Wet & Cold - which tells me it should come *after* AOS - the one for Weapons & Armor Fixes Remade - which tell me it should come *before* AOS So wich recommendations should I follow - the STEP page or Wrye Bash? The whole order loads without errors in TES5Edit so I was wondering if I should just reorder the masters for these patches or will that make galaxies explode?

Wrye Bash through MO to create bashed patch
grallonsphere replied to oqhansoloqo's question in Mod Organizer Support
When you rebuild the patch is it supposed to produce other files than the esp? -
No MO doesn't tell me. I feel I'm running in circles. LOOT does not report any errors, TES5Edit doesn't jam at any point so obviously there are no conflicts, yet Wrye Bash shows me little boxes in orange that tells me Masters for particular plugins aren't organized properly. I reorganize them there - rebuild the patch - exit and get a warning from MO that 'there seem to be a problem with the load order' - I chose 'FIX IT' - launch the game - CTD. I get back into Wrye Bash - the corrections I had made have been unmade - the previously green boxes are back to orange... Rinse and repeat. What exactly is the progression order of these tools? Is it 1st LOOT - the Wrye Bash - or is it the other way around?! And the 'load order problem' is it in the plugin pane (right) or the mod pane (left)? Yes I did add some mods in the prescribed STEP progression order - some mods which I feel are essential to any Skyrim playthrough - like Alternate Life, like Complete Crafting Overhaul, like 3DNPC, like Climates of Tamriel (since I don't run any ENBs), like TK Children... And there are things I don't care for in the STEP steps - like the Frost Astronach patch for instance. But I had all of those in my last playthrough - which brought me to lvl 80 and with 234 mods active! Mind you there were items missing in that one - the lvld lists weren't accurate, my crafting stations didn't show all the potential jewels (missing the Dwarven or Elven jewels or Daedric) for instance. I used to mix the STEP steps with my favorite mods (see above) but until this time I had never bothered with the Bashed Batch. Hell I even tried launching without the BPacth - CTD again. And so I'm a bit discouraged to say the least. It seems I had far less troubles when I mismatched stuff using BOSS and NMM and without Wrye Bash - but no doubt it's me who's missing an essential logical link. So should I erase everything, follow scrupulously the STEP steps and add only those mods I deem 'essential' after the last of the Gameplay section mods? But then again there's no guarantee all this extra work will produce any kind of positive results is there?

Last play through I ended up lvl 80, killing the Ebony Warrior with a few explosive bolts and a few swing of my 400 hit Katana so I decided to reinstall the whole thing afresh. Well I've spent the last 10-12 days stabilizing this new setup and I keep CTD-ing at the logo *even* if loading in TES5Edit shows no errors, *even* when LOOT sorts everything out without errors (unless it's the Belethor fix which to this day remains necessary), even when Wrye Bash has only little green boxes ticked and the rebuilt bashed patch is green and ticked as well. I also have meta rules in place in LOOT according to STEP and whatever else LOOT tells me. When prompted I chose to 'fix it' in MO after it told me such and such mods needed to be ordered in a specific way. And yes I'm aware of the limitations (170 active - 181 total). I wanted everything neat and proper before installing SkyRe, it's gazillion patches, SUM and the ReProccer. I was able to launch at 103 active - after the Sound section of the STEP checklist + Alternate Life. I basked in the glory of the new ASLAL setup - hearing that mad wizard/necromancer speak in the background. So I thought alright this is all stable now and I went on to the Gameplay section - which is the heaviest. I haven't been able to launch since. I have merged a number of mods, before and after that point, including the patches for Even Better Quest Objectives - which is my last hope. I think they were merged in a certain order and LOOT keep ordering the masters in a different order - despite the meta rules. And still Wrye Bash keep listing it as green. I think I will reinstall that mod - re-extract the BSA and merge them according to the listed order. But otherwise I am stomped. And more importantly I am getting withdrawal syndrome!

I'm not sure if this is the right place for it but I can't seem to fix the grey face bug using the CTRL+F4 procedure. Furthermore it appears to affect only the vanilla female characters. I've made a list of every 'afflicted' I met and would do the above procedure in batch - it created an overwrite from which I made a FaceBug Fix mod and dumped all the nif/tga files in it. The issue was fixed for those I had processed. However I restarted another game and they were all grey in the face again. I had done this in the CK with only skyrim.esm and update.esm loaded. SPECS: I5 2.67Mhtz - 4Cores - Win8.1 (which I'm about to trash and revert to Win7...) - GForce 760 2G - 16G Ram - I'm using the MO - I followed the STEP process (plus all those mods not covered by it) - I LOOTed (and cleaned all Masters and Plugins), WryBashed, TES5Edited, ReProccessed, FNISed - I only have one error (the Belethor fix which was never fixed in the Unofficial patches) and one warning (deleted navmesh which I don't have a clue how to correct) - I run the Cell Stabilizer, SMME & ENB Boost 2.54 - the game is mostly stable with minimal stuttering Now since I don't care much for women this doesn't annoy me too much but still there must be a permanent solution? I'm not quite sure why this happens but whenever I launch MO after a session it tells me there is content in the Overwrite - which turns out to be Meshes - tri files to be exact. At first I thought it was following changes made with the showracemenu command but during the last session I didn't do any such changes. I have now created 7 Meshes mods in such fashion. Confusing.
-
Bahh it turned out I had mispelled bAllow... in the INI file. I was able to modify the bsa without a problem after. However copying the overwrite created in the process is a pain...
-
I copied the SkyrimEditor.ini & SkyrimEditorPrefs.ini in my profile folder under MO but that didn't help either - launching the CK from MO doesn't allow multiple masters to be loaded. Bummer.
-
So after an entire day of trying to make things work while using MO I've come to a hurdle. I wanted to check my custom follower in the CK and sure enough - one of the dependancy - The Eyes of Beauty (alongside Apachii's Male Hair) - was no longer listed in the CK. So I used WryBash to ESMIfy it (since it wasn't an ESM to start with - however the CK when launched from MO does not recognize the changes in the SkyrimEditor.ini to allow multiple masters to load - hence I cannot mod my follower. The INI section of MO doesn't seem to allow for any other INI than the basic ones. I'm stomped.
