  1. Just as a heads-up (since the OP said they wouldn't need the file until the New Year (which it now is)), the file is still available and contains every Conflict Resolution suggested by Neovalen on his guide. So it should be good to go. Note, I've not actually run the game yet with that ESP active, so it might still cause my game to burst into flames.
  2. Cool, I'll give it a go sans mods then and see if I can see an improvement. :)
  3. Okey doke. Just making sure, cheers GSDFan. :)
  4. Question: So I've cleaned the Vanilla ESMs of Identical To Master records as suggested in Neovalen's Skyrim Revisited guide. It then goes through a process which allows you to retain a completely clean Vanilla Skyrim folder by having the cleaned ESMs loading through Mod Organiser. I've done that, but I'm wondering how it actually works: Whether I have the 'Cleaned Vanilla ESMs' ticked or not, Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, Hearthfires.esm and Dragonborn.esm all still appear once in the Plugins section. So I'm unsure of what happens when it's enabled? Presumably there are two versions of those files that could be loaded, so do the Mod Organizer ones take priority somehow? I don't really mind modifying my vanilla Skyrim folder if need-be, but it does seem sensible not to do so if I can avoid it.
  5. Hi Kelmych, thanks for the reply. :) Yeah, that's with STEP Enhanced, so using the High Res Texture Packs as well as all the suggested HD textures on the 2.2.7 STEP guide. I used no 4k textures though, because that's what started killing my game before. I used higher res textures for indoor areas (like dungeons) and stuck mostly with 1k textures for outdoors. I think SFO might have been the 2k version though. Should I try it Vanilla Game vs Vanilla Game with Optimised Textures? I might not have made it completely clear in the OP, but the mod setup and load order is identical in both cases, the only thing that's changed is I used DDSopt to optimise the vanilla textures (including the HighResTexturePacks), then added them to Mod Organizer and loaded them at the top of the load order. So my question is not about why the numbers are high (I would expect them to be), but about why they're higher after using the Optimiser (given my understanding that it's meant to reduce VRAM load, not increase it). Edit: Clarification
  6. Hi, I just ran through the DDSopt optimisation for the vanilla textures (plus all DLC). Running the performance benchmark (new game to first autosave), I've found my VRAM usage is notably higher. Can anyone tell me what's going on, what I've done wrong, or what further information you require to analyse the problem? I used the High settings in the STEP guide as suggested (2048x2048 regular and 1024x1024 normals). More info: I'm using Mod Organizer (which unpacks BSAs as a matter of course). So, I figured I should put the texture folders into Mod Organizers's "mods" folder, unpacked, then tick them in MO before running. The game didn't horribly crash, so I'm guessing I must be pretty much right. I also moved those BSAs which pertain only to textures ("Skyrim - Textures.bsa", "HighResTexturePack01.bsa", "HighResTexturePack02.bsa" and "HighResTexturePack03.bsa") to a different folder. 7. A caravan's not going to serve you any better than a fur-lined tent in the frozen North though, maybe worse. I'd argue the tents in Frostfall just reflect the nature of the terrain you have to endure. You can't bring a caravan with you up the Throat of the World, but you might need to camp before you reach the summit.
  8. To be honest, Wrye Bash (and specifically Bash Patching) scares me a little, but I understand the other ones you mentioned, at least enough to do what's required. I can also use TES5Edit easily enough and I should imagine I can use the Creation Kit, unless it's very different to the old Morrowind and Oblivion Construction Kits, which I used pretty extensively back in the day. :)
  9. Man... my bad. Sorry for wasting your time, guys. I was using Nexus Mod Manager before and running BOSS manually, so I did that again here but didn't realise it wouldn't do anything on MO because MO has its own version of the files and doesn't put them in the Skyrim folder. Pretty obvious in hindsight. Ah well, cheers for the assistance anyway. :) Very interesting background info, wolverine2710. :)
  10. It should be worth noting though, that enabling that setting (APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION) could alter the lighting in (usually) subtle ways, especially if you're using overhauls like Climates of Tamriel and ELFX. I was running those two, along with Realvision ENB, and Night Vision wasn't working, as per the OP. When I enabled APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION, it also enabled things like the in-game HDR (when you look at the sky, then the floor, the floor is dark then gradually gets lighter). This is not a desirable effect, as it defeats some of the point of having the ENB and these lighting mods in the first place (atmosphere) as it often lightens areas that should be dark. I think, but never thoroughly checked, that the 'Predator' part of the Predator Vision mod will work without APPLYGAMECOLORCORRECTION enabled (that's the one which gives living creatures a heat trail).
  11. Hi chaps, I'm getting a couple of messages coming up in Mod Organiser that I don't understand: Mod order and location of message: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz_hLJWAmHi9LU9GSWxaUVNwMlU/edit?usp=sharing Detail of message: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz_hLJWAmHi9Y2w0RzlJdXltZUE/edit?usp=sharing All of these are already in the suggested order, so far as I can tell (and the first screenshot seems to corroborate this). Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.
