I've found at least one cause. I had a too recent version of FileAccess Interface for Skyrim SE Scripts - FISSES: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13956?tab=description installed. I had 1.3.6, for the new SKSE version. With that included, the game would CTD before the main menu. With 1.3.5 installed (from the old files section) I get to the main menu. It may be the same or similar for you. Now to see how much further I get

I have that too, the game starts and loads the ENB shaders, then crashes to desktop. With the vanilla profile it starts allright. I'm currently double checking all mod versions. I suspect it's related to the update. My Skyrim is still at the old version, but maybe one or more mods updated before I installed them.
