  1. I'm going to disagree, you are not going to see that much difference unless your doing deep learning or other specialized operations with your card. 500 extra dollars for the FP16 compute performance + a small performance increase is ridiculous unless that is what you do in your spare time, are a business, or just want to show off. Quite simply the 1080 Ti is the best gaming card you can get this generation without going "Boutique". Base GTX 1080: $500 Base GTX 1080Ti: $700 (+35% performance over non-Ti) Base Titan Xp (Latest): $1200 (+5-10% performance over Ti) Generally speaking, the Ti series of cards is equivalent to the next generation of cards initial release and thus hold value fairly well for a high end card anyway. Volta, the next generation, is not expected until next year... so aside from the new Titan this is pretty much going to be the best card for a user needing the gaming horsepower for the next 8-12 months at least. This is especially true if your not running a 4K display and are on something like 1600p.
  2. I'm sure once I load up Skyrim SE with 3d trees, 4k textures, etc. It will be more of a challenge. That being said, with base Skyrim it was always ENB eating the fps which doesn't happen as much in SE since it's features are built into the engine. I'm looking forward to pushing every limit I can... 11GB of VRAM goes a long way. [emoji1]
  3. I remember when Skyrim first came out I had triple monitors... looked great but never was able to get truly workable fps. Have you tried SSE yet? It might handle things better but there is no ENB obviously. I no longer have triple monitors but I will have a 1080Ti to play with. Not sure how I can compare unless I just crank my resolution up to 4k using Nvidia DSR.
  4. Finally got my card on order. Picked up this bad boy: AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edtion 11GB ESTIMATED DELIVERY: Wednesday, April 05, 2017 by End of Day (in a day) I can't wait to play everything I own at 1600p 60fps minimum. It is pretty much guaranteed to chew up anything modded Skyrim SSE can throw at it once SKSE64 comes out.
  5. The limit appears tied to the user's system and not well understood. CDProjekt has never commented.
  6. Aftermarket Gigabyte cards confirmed for this Friday... it's almost time.
  7. Very cool, glad things are going well Hishy. I may upgrade my monitor eventually but for now I'm sticking with my 1600p 60hz. My single 980 is really showing its age already so this will be a nice upgrade. I thought about waiting for the FTW3 but release is a long way off yet, thinking about going with the ASUS Strix that should be out in a day or two. After my last experience with SLI I am sticking with 1 card for the forseeable future.
  8. Enjoy your Linux OS, from the rest of us gaming in the future with the best hardware we will miss you.
  9. I finished Bitter Harvest at level 4, but I have to admit I abused the system a bit. I dragged one of the ghouls near the Redanian guards then pulled them back out into the field. They kept some of the Ghouls busy so that the quest giver didn't die while I mopped up the Ghouls. :) Brains over Brawn.
  10. Just wait until you do "Bitter Harvest" and "Family Matters" those encounters are hell.... but fun! :)
  11. This sounds like the texture mod limit bug... try merging some of the smaller texture mods.
  12. I tried replicating this tonight. Crafted the same chest armor and put it on... no change in length for conversation loads / load screens. Double check the Texture Memory Budget tweak in the ini and make sure it did not get reset somehow.
  13. That is a new one by me... so far I haven't had any loading issues at all running the full guide. What piece of armor is it?
  14. This one had my laughing out loud today.
  15. Yeah, I may have to sell my 980... provided my wife doesn't want it. If she does I may have to buy Ryzen and basically give her the whole PC. She is a bit out of date.
  16. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2017/02/nvidia-geforce-1080ti-will-launch-for-699-next-week/ Here it is guys... almost immediate launch and only $699! Great price/performance ratio... supposedly 35% faster than base 1080. Nvidia is coming out swinging. AMD kinda dropped the ball with their Vega conference. That being said, on the processor front Ryzen looks great for AMD. For those with more modest budgets will like this news as well: "Those with more modest budgets will be pleased to hear the the memory improvements made to the 1080 Ti are trickling down to the GTX 1080 and GTX 1060. A new, pre-overclocked SKU of the GTX 1080 will feature the same 11GHz memory, while a new GTX 1060 SKU will feature 9GHz memory."
  17. Personally, I do not break down much of anything at the early levels. I mostly sell the items but keep any raw crafting components I might find along the way in my stash. Alchemy I keep many of the items until the stacks get to 50+ then start selling them... most plants may only sell for one crown but add up. I just finished White Orchard in my current play through with about 1200 crowns after buying the full Temerian armor set and crafting the Viper swords. Even refused the pay for the contract and the Griffin. That being said, early game I used damaged gear for a long while since I didn't have cash to repair the gear I looted. Side note: Finished the "Even Odds" achievement by killing the Griffin without mutagens, oils, bombs, potions, etc. Very nice challenge with Ghost mode since the griffin can resist some crossbow shots in the air and I couldn't stun him. :) Haven't spent any of my character points, got 9 stacked up... I really should get on that. [emoji1]
  18. Maybe? I just know what was posted in the Ghost Mode comment threads.
  19. I've actually got autoloot installed for herbs only myself, just haven't added it yet. Edit: Added AutoLoot - Configurable All-In-One the way I use it. Made sure to add the warning about the Radius and True Autoloot features of the mod... i.e. DON'T USE THEM.
  20. Damn that was fun. I just did the White Orchard ghost by the well contract Death March + Ghost Mode "Even Odds" (No oils, signs, mutagens, etc.). She took a whole lot of hits and I couldn't heal at all. :) Fun times! Ghost mode really makes you learn the ins and outs of the enemy movements to be successful.
  21. There is a first person mod but it doesn't support combat and the controls are not suited to first person very well. Personally don't have a problem playing the game as intended myself.
  22. I'm guessing it's actually a soft conflict between alternate lightsource interaction and preparations.
  23. I'll be sure to write a note in the known issues section tonight. :)
  24. To be honest reshades are the last item on the list... still have more to test and my fps is already borderline for me... but I'll eventually get to it.
  25. My wife would too normally, but with the 970 fiasco I have $350 in Newegg credit lying around for the better part of a year now.... so it's a bit more palatible. :) I'll need to find a buyer for this 980... really is a great card (Awesome OC, Aftermarket cooler) but I am afraid I have outgrown it personally.
