Question

Posted

I am new to MO and Merge plugins but so far I am having great success merging some of my Legacy of the DB patches, ISC patches, RW2 patches, AOS2 patches, and RSC patches no issues so far!!!

I am using Bodyslide2 CBBE HDT as well as Dual Sheath Redux.

In the guides I have read/viewed they stated not to merge anything that other mods would use as a master....I was looking at all of my armors/weapons (seperately) and I wasn't sure if I could merge them while using DSR and Bodyslide. Doesn't DSR patch rely on all of the orginal weapon esp's as masters? And wouldn't my Bodyslide Armor Build patch rely on the original armor esp's?

Are the DSR/Bodyslide Armor Build patches generated using SkyProc/an xEdit script, or are they flat ESP file patches?

If they're generated you can merge the armors and re-generate the patches.  If they're flat patches then you can only merge armors if you include every armor and the patches in the merge.

I know DSR uses a SkyProc patcher which is run then I create a mod (patch) from the files dumped into my overwrite folder in Mod Organizer. BodySlide also dumps files into overwrite but I do not think it uses a Proc the same way DSR does.

I am going to start by trying to run the weapons now hopefully it will yield good results :)

I merged three weapon mods together as a test, then ran the DSR patcher and can confirm it worked in game although I lost the previous versions that I had (from non merged esp's. - to be expected).

For some reason I was expecting them to be named something to the tune of "WeaponMerge-Skycutter" but to my surprise it came out just "Skycutter"!!! Perfect!!

This was a concern of mine because I merged a Apachiihair with a few mods before. Now in the racemenu when selecting those styles they show as "NewMerge-ApachiiHairXX"(but function normally) Perhaps someone could shed some light on that issue?
