  1. Sorry for the constant posting, but I've got it figured out now. I had installed Vivid Landscapes on top of STEP for..reasons...and that was causing the black texture. Purple texture was fixed by reinstalling Deadly Spell Impacts. I guess I just needed to soundboard some stuff off of you guys to figure it out. Time to enjoy a lazy Saturday!
  2. I told my GPU to prefer maximum performance and I switched from borderless full screen to regular full screen. I don't know which of those (if either) made the difference but I can now get into the game. And as long as it keeps working, I don't care :P. Thanks for the suggestions, though. I've still got the missing textures though. I'm starting a new game, so both that I've seen are in Helgen. I've got a black texture on the wooden post between the main gate and the gate's frame. And I've got a purple texture on the floor at the top of the tower you run into that the dragon knocks a wall out of (only after the dragon knocks out the wall). Any ideas? I've tried disabling dyndolod, smim, and a few other texture packs, but no luck. I've confirmed the textures are there in vanilla.
  3. Quick clarification: Running a "default" profile with SKSE works, but disabling all the mods in the profile I'm using does not. Something to do with the .ini files? Still doesn't make sense because absolutely did not touch them between game-working and game-not-working.
  4. Last week I had STEP extended running perfectly. Then I tried adding an enb. It hurt my framerate too much so I disabled "use effect". After that, I could no longer load my game or start a new game--instant CTD either way. Re-enabling the enb did nothing. I *swear* i didn't do anything else to mess with the game in that time. After trying every fix I could find online I gave up and started from scratch, painstakingly reinstalled all of mods (thankfully I had not deleted my downloads). I got it up and running again tonight, but I found that I had a couple purple/black textures. Using the console, I traced them both back to Skyrim.esm. So I verified my install thru Steam. After doing *that* my game is suddenly entirely borked. Everytime I run the game (before I even reach the menu) I now get an error message "Skyrim has failed to allocate texture in memory". Which is bogus because it was working perfectly fine once upon a time. I've got a 980ti, so VRAM shouldn't be an issue. Running with no mods installed still works. Any ideas? I'm at my wit's end with this crap.
  5. OK guys you've convinced me. I'll give it a spin. Thanks!
  6. So. I originally got Skyrim on PS3 when ot first came out. Halfway thru the game my PS3 YLOD'd and I didn't replace it. Since then, I've built myself a gaming PC, and last weekend I bought Skyrim PC on a whim and got STEP extended up and running (+a couple additional mods). Now my question is: should I go ahead and invest myself in this new save file, or should I hold off until the Remastered version comes out? I know that a lot of stuff is up in the air until the game actually comes out, but what are you guys doing? Should I worry about being unable to transfer a heavily modded save file to the new game? P.S. I apologize if this is the wrong place for this topic
